basically just that tell us in the widget what particular tos term was broken when it says chat is shut down. So the rest of us know why. Not who did it that's asking to get folks harassed. Just why and why alone. Drives me bonkers when chat is shut down it'll ease the crazy to know why. I mean we had an entire discussion about mammary glands in mammals and when someone got uncomfortable and said so we knocked it off. So chat usually just checks itself to a certain extent. We get weird but want people to be comfortable enough to get that weird. I said to deliberately leave out who did just a snippet cut and pasted from tos |

there are really no benefits to knowing why chat was silenced in the first place, aside from giving people ideas to doing it in the future. if you want to avoid silencing chat, just follow tos  0 players like this post! Like? |

Moderators will always post a notice what exactly was wrong when re-launching chat. They always do post a reminder; like situation have been dealt with, but remember to follow X and Y rule. Any more, would already be targetting (if specific someone broke the rules, they could feel targetted if its posted publically) and discussing player punishments (if people know what the rule break was, but keep discussing if it was ok or not), which are both against the rules. I'd have to agree with everyone above me. It's no one's beeswax on why chat is shut down. I never get on main chat, so it doesn't affect me any. And I'm sure no one wants to be targeted for doing something by accident, or on purpose, who knows. No one wants to be 'that person'. You already can't name drop someone in the forums if they piss you off, and I know you can't do it in chat either. So it's better to leave things as they are and not single X player out for doing something bad. 0 players like this post! Like? |
