Still new, but decided to try for hexaplex breeding. Found labradorite the best way to go about that in terms of making my king have a combo breed base.

I like how he looks, but I feel like he could do with more markings? I threw some rma on him that I'd had from rollovers, but they all seem to have given him kinda lame markings, while also upping the min stud price.

I don't think I like the way sunrise (any of the t3 ones) look on him, but also how do you get the t5 sunset markings ?

Any thoughts on "cheap" but perhaps appealing marking apps I could put on him? I have had horrible luck in enclave so I don't have nearly enough monkey teeth for any of those. Would need to spend actual SB/GB, but I am still so new idk what all the ways are to obtain marking apps yet.

Also, is there a strat to what slot you put markings in ? I sorta started with 2/4/6/8, with the sunset markings, removed the duplicates, and then added all the rmas on the lower slots avail.

Thanks for any help :) Also sorry if this isn't the forum to post in.

The current t5 sunset/sunrise/etc markings are coming with the end of the July novel - depending on whose side you're choosing you will get 1 of 3 applicators for either Flare, Valiant, or Splendor.

As far as his appearance goes, he's a little dull to me considering his base. His coat matches well with his mane, though, which is nice. But I'm a big, crazy colorbomb fan (you can tell by looking at my queen and heir lol); if it doesn't make your eyes bleed, it's not good enough!!

For hexaplex breeding, I'd try and get markings on your king that would look good on your eventual hexaplex king (I assume is the goal?) by playing around in wardrobe for a bit. It may take a couple generations of kings to get there eventually, though, depending on if he's got breed only traits or not. I'm currently working on a side account project where I'm breeding Bandit based lions with White Indri. Currently I have my third generation kinged, who has the Indri marking - but I'd ideally like to have breed only eyes as well, so that's what I'm working on. It can take a while.

I'd personally try and get a couple breed only markings on there to add to the appeal, but the negative side of that is the possibility of breeding a hexaplex that doesn't end up born having any those markings, which is disappointing.

Ultimately, go for whatever YOU think looks good. I had a raffle clone as my lead for a while but I ended up retiring that one early because I didn't vibe with the design as much as I thought I would, even though it was "desirable" or whatever.

The strategy for what slot to put markings in? If they're all applicator markings, it's just a matter of what order looks best in your "dream" design! But breed only markings need to be in slots where they actually exist in game. Common slots are easiest to get since they're not monopolized by one or a few players. You can find out how many lions exist with a certain marking slot by using the Search function, if that's something you want to do. I can expand on this if needed.

I guess I'm so new still that I didn't even really consider I'd be breeding with the intention of replacing my king with a bred one... I kinda just wanted to see what I could get with my current king and find another to replace him with when he's closer to age.

Which, quick question about that, does replacing your king with an heir reset his age to 2 years or w/e the youngest is for king? Or does it take the heirs age?
I kinda assumed it took the heirs age, so I was never looking to find replacements so early, but I guess it would make more sense if it reset the age, regardless of the heirs current age?

So I guess what you're saying is to just breed him with whoever, and when I get a good enough looking cub, keep it until he's ready to retire? (I'm not looking to early retire), then repeat that?

It's fine to not have that sort of goal in mind! You could definitely find and purchase a lion that piques your fancy enough to make him your heir - breeding and kinging my own offspring is just how I've been doing my own project. It's also not how I'm doing things on this account, since I keep drastically changing their looks every couple generations. I can't say what'll work best for you ^^ I also care about having my leads heritageless as well as having decent stats, so I end up immediately replacing whatever heir I get with a male that ages down to 8, which costs essentially 25 gb on its own - but that's just me of course.

If you replace him with anything 3 years old or younger, they age up to 3. If you replace with anything between age 3-10 years, they'll stay that age when they become king. And if you do 10 years or older, they age down to 8 years old.
