Happy Anniversary, Lioden!

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of when Kitty, Xylax, and Abbey began creating Lioden!

We're having a small celebration now with some fantastic high value raffles, some design contests using a new feature so that we can host official contests, and a free gift that you can claim now from the main News page! As a note, the gift can be claimed up until August 19th, and will leave the News page on August 20th, so be sure to get it before then!

We will be celebrating again in March 2023, which will be the 10 year anniversary of Lioden's public launch!

Anniversary Contests

We feel that it's time to update Lioden's front page to include artwork that reflects the monthly events that take place within the world of Lioden. We'd love to see what you, the community, can come up with! If you have a knack for themed designs, or you just enjoy spending a lot of time in the Lion Wardrobe, why not send in some contest entries?

Details
* There are 12 contests in total—one for each monthly event on Lioden.
* Each account can enter once per contest.
* Your entries must be themed around specific events (e.g. only submit January-themed arrangements for the January contest, etc.).
* To enter, you must copy the full, long wardrobe URL and paste it into the "Submit Entry" field. Entries cannot be modified once they have been submitted, so please double-check what you have before entering!
* Your entry does not need to have a lion present. You can choose to decorate a lion and theme all decors and backgrounds to an event, or you can go a more scenic route and set up a lovely background view with accenting decors! (As an additional note, Translucent Jellyfish now works in the Lion Wardrobe, allowing you to hide the lion artwork right there within the wardrobe!)
* For contests themed to specific monthly events, you can use any background and decor for your design, it does not need to be limited to items from that month's event.
* Everyone can vote for whichever entries they like best! Each player can vote 5 times per contest, 1 vote per entry (so you cannot put all 5 votes into one entry), and you will get a bonus 5 SB per vote for participating.
* Votes cannot be incentivised. Do not ask for other players to vote for your entries, your friends' entries, etc. anywhere on Lioden. This includes in the chat room, on the forums, or in various other areas of the site. Incentivising votes can lead to actions being taken against accounts—we really want this to be fair and for players to genuinely vote for whichever entries they like best!
* If your design is chosen, it will be added to a pool of randomised images that will be shown on Lioden's front page when that specific event is occurring on Lioden!

Prizes
There will be 120 winners in total—10 winners per monthly event, and each winner will get a prize of 10 GB!

Entries can be submitted for all 12 contests starting from now, up until September 1st. On September 1st, the voting period will begin, and players can then vote for the entries they like best within each contest. Winners will be chosen and announced on September 9th!

Anniversary Raffles

To celebrate Lioden's 10 year creation date anniversary, we have released five official raffles for you all to participate in! These raffles all have the standard fee of 5 SB per ticket, with a limit of 1 ticket per account. You can enter all five raffles if you'd like!

New Combo Base!

We have decided to implement a new combo base, Majivu, from this suggestion topic. Thank you, ✺ Vera ✺ (#158086)!

Per the suggestion, it is a monochromatic recolour of Ukame. We felt this was very fitting for the dry, scorched vibe of August's event! This base can be bred year-round, but only during dry season, like Smog!

Reminder: Input Needed Regarding Challenge/Paperclip Trades

We have been observing the discussions surrounding "What can I get for 1 SB" and other similar types of "challenge/paperclip" trades, and we understand that a portion of the community dislikes seeing these in the Trading Center. In turn, we have been discussing how best these can be handled. We have started a topic with some of our thoughts and possible solutions. We would love to hear your input, ideas, and any other feedback you may have on this topic.

Please do not provide any input, ideas, or feedback within posts on this Development Update. We will not be taking ideas posted in the news into account, so it is imperative that anything you have to say regarding these trades is posted on the official topic linked above.

Our decision to implement a discussion topic does not mean that we will be changing our stance on these trades. If we cannot come to a conclusion or the majority of the feedback is in favour of these trades being unmoderated as they currently are, then we will announce this in the news.
