Since current rewards for this event give you and your cubs stat boosts through connection with the ancestors I thought it would be intresting to have an opposing option that decreased stats but with the benefit off lowering your lion's heritage by one stage.

I don't think using piety would work for this as it would be the opposite of being pious, so it could be split reward system like October has or use Scarab Beetles. Either way removing GG Grandparents should be cheapest and get more expensive in stages up to parents.

Lioden has shifted to value lower generations recently so I think this feature would be useful to people who want to have prides with low gen lions.

This suggestion has 7 supports and 25 NO supports.

No support. Balancing seems like it might be complex. It would have to be implemented with restrictions I think. Would this work on lions with mutations? Is there a limit to how much of a lions heritage can be removed? MoD prices would drop if it doesn't have restrictions, but then I feel like there's no point lol

I kind of like the idea from a personal perspective, but it defies the challenge of low gen breeding anyway if you can wipe the heritage once per year - and it would have to be pointlessly expensive to make it not overpowered. If it was limited to one generation per lion per year though, maybe.

However the fact people are trying to maintain low gens on a game based on breeding kinda counterproductive to the whole game. How do you raise the value of a lion through breeding if breeding reduces it's value by adding gens.

I was off lioden for a few years so don't know when the shift to valuing clean and low gen so much came from (most my lions have 3 pages of ancestors) but it seems important enough to people now to incorporate it into game play.

I was much the same, I went awol when clean breeding was only partially a thing. but the devs won't recognize it anyway and short gens are valued because it's challenging. the opportunity comes in that you can erase a male's entire heritage through heritage repping, and in terms of female lines, these can be improved with a good gen1 male. so it would have to be carefully balanced otherwise way overpowered
