The last expedition into the Crystalline Gorge had proven successful. Pen had gone in and found a lone Toxoid Rakatosh that had befriended her. She'd been thrilled to see the creature, never having seen one before. She expected the common Rakatosh, maybe even a few of the more uncommon types. She had left the gorge then, taking a few days to get a feel for her new friend. The name Vibrance stuck out to her, even though there was nothing particularly vibrant about the Toxoid. It sounded like an off brand medication. She'd tried several other names over the next few days as well, but she kept coming back to Vibrance, and the Rakatosh responded well to it. The woman simply accepted the name as it was, her new friend seemed to approve of it so there was no point it trying to come up with something else.

But Pen found herself being drawn back to the Gorge. She had heard tales of an even larger breed residing there. Hell, she had heard someone even bonded to one! There was so little information on the breed, however, she wasn't sure if bringing Vibrance was a good idea. But an extra set of wings would allow her access to various places she hadn't before. And an extra set (or two) of eyes was sure to keep her safe from this Tyrant of the Crystalline Gorge. In theory, anyway. There was rumor this tyrant Rakatosh could control lesser Rakatosh. But that was just talk...right?

Once the woman had loaded up Vibrance with various exploration gear and rations for the trip, they were off.
