Most alis vacui (void wings) have a Panther or wolf like main body with squirrel tails. As they age they begin to develop patterns that darken with age. The alis vacui are ruled by a semi strict hierarchy, the darker the coat the more socially powerful they are. The darkest coats being the leaders.
As the alis vacui age their tails and wings begin to form a gradient into a slightly lighter color than their main body. The gradient starts as they reach adulthood and continues to grow farther with time. The alis vacui live in family groupings similar to wolf packs or lion prides and make their homes in jungle trees or root hollows depending on their body type.
A few bloodlines developed longer fangs and other Mutations, they are outliers but as long as the Mutations are beneficial they are not banished from their group. One of the Mutations that is more accepted is the wolf like variations these alis vacui are more wolf like in appearance and lack the claws of their Panther counter parts so they live in the hollowed out roots of the (pride/pack/flock?)'s main tree and will fly to the great hollow to interact with the main body of the family. They do have an advantage over their Panther counter parts though, their sense of smell is greater so they make better hunters/scouts. They can also dig up burrowing prey to help feed the (pack/pride).
While the 2 alis vacui variations live separately they are allied with one another and will regularly meet to strengthen their bonds between the two tribes.
