Cometpaw / HawkClan / Medicine Apprentice Cometpaw's sight swept across the camp, his pink nose twitching. He observed his clanmates curiously and spotted Echowhisper laying in solitude. He shook out the odorous bits and leaves from his silvery-blue coat and trotted casually towards them. On his way, he nipped the tail of a mouse from the fresh-kill pile. "Do you mind if I sit here?" He asked, timidly. Sageglow / HawkClan / Warrior Sageglow hopped back up to her feet. "Are you hungry? I was going to grab something from the pile, I can bring you something too?" Sageglow / HawkClan / Warrior Sageglow made her way to the fresh-kill heap and selected the two pieces at the very top; a mouse and a shrew. She scooped them up by their tails and hurriedly returned to Stormcall, carefully setting down the mouse for her and the shrew for herself. Sageglow began to chew at her own meal and between bites, she mumbled, "So what've you gotten done today?" Making idle, friendly conversation. Cometpaw / HawkClan / Medicine Apprentice Cometpaw bit into his mouse and immediately recoiled. Something about it was off and bitter. He leaned closer and sniffed at it, getting a closer inspection of the rodent. His paw prodded it. "Is it normal for mice to taste like this?" Echowhisper "What do you mean?" They asked, gazing over at the youthful tom with a look of perplexion. Squinting their eyes, they intently studied the rodent corpse. From the naked eye, it looked completely fine, but the mediator had sensed that there was something definitely off about it. Inclining her head downwards, she gave the mouse carcass a deep sniff. Echowhisper nearly gagged from how rancid it smelled. "..It's.. it's rotten. Most definitely." The mediator informed Cometpaw, her snout scrunching up in disgust. "Here, have my vole instead. You can have the rest of it." She offered, pushing the smaller rodent toward the young tom in compensation for the nasty prey. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Her tail lashed happily as she chewed smile bites of the shrew, wanting to savor it. It's a shame there aren't any new apprentices soon," Sageglow remarked, wondering how she, herself, would fare by mentoring an apprentice. Perhaps not too well. "Plus, they can be quite the pawful so I'm certain you'd be keeping yourself busy with one." She licked her lips, finishing off the mouse with a satisfied appetite. The Calico she-cat looked up with brightened eyes. "Speaking of young ones, have you ever wanted kits of your own? Echowhisper The mediator flipped the rodent onto its opposite side, showing the medicine cat apprentice the nasty maggots that crawled within its flesh. "You're lucky you spat it out while you could. Swallowing one of these nasty things would've earned you a one-way ticket to the medicine cat's den." Echowhisper responded, hoping her answer would fulfill his question. The tone of her voice was lighthearted and jokeful, as she wanted for Cometpaw's enlightened mood to remain. "I'm glad you didn't swallow it, either. Storm’Call paused at the mention of kits her ears flattening ever so slightly. She never thought much of kits, she wasn’t even sure if she wanted them. “Uh…well-“ The She-cat stuttered ever so slightly.
