The Project: Introduction

inspired by the project I first saw Quills complete (which has since inspired many others) - I have decided to create some of my favorite raffle lionesses - that for one reason or another, are either inactive or frozen without breedable clones.

because I'm impatient, I have chosen two to work toward at the same time - because I would like to make things as hard for myself as possible.

1. First and arguably "Farthest along" is the Feb. 02, 2018 Lioness!

Because most of her markings are applicator and/or event based, I have been able to cobble together what I will consider my "base" which my heritage rep'd king will eventually be bred to (and then wiped again if necessary) in the hopes of producing clones.

I have already collected each additional marking needed, and have made good progress locating potential studs. With any luck - this pretty lady will exist again before too long!

2. Second is the September 18, 2015 Lioness

She's a step farther in complexity mostly because I can't slap on the majority of her markings like I can with the previous gal but I've managed to collect a lot of the markings I will need - with the exception of onyx ear backs in s6, which elludes me currently.

*extant means: still in existence / surviving, and so I thought it a fitting name for recreations like this.

I was super pleased to breed two cubs with one of few studs who had the bone inverted zebra in the slot I needed for "sweetheart" and then also each cub got at least two of mom's marks which are also project marks. I kinged the cub with more marks and plan to backbreed to both mom and the second cub to facilitate marking passes! this also means that I can now breed my new king (RIP Moet I) and produce NRLCs as we get further into the project. I've also started amassing NCLs for phase two, but that might be overzealous of me quite this early in the project.

my current king tops out at 5/15 needed marks and has been consistently producing 2-3/15 traited cubs thus far. I'm breeding the last two of my "big four" missing marks this week and hopefully can get a new king/heritage wipe within the next two weeks c:

I lucked into breeding one of the new BO skins, Sandstone - and although the markings aren't the farthest along I've gotten in cubs, I kinged (and Heritage repped, RIP my wallet) that stud, and currently have Neni, the first Sandstone Skin Stud in game who is also a project lion!

My plan is to still stick to the OG Blue skin for the RLC, but then use the new Sandstone skin as apart of my modifications. Now, I'm consistently seeing Bone Inverted Zebra on a lot of my lions, and have just started to see Clay Points pop up more and more, as well as Rose Glaze. Feline 3 Gold is still being a bit stubborn. Neni has a royal mane so thankfully that shape is starting to crop up in more project lions as well.

Maroon mane color will be one of my last additions, but I'm hoping that'll be easier since it's more straightforward than markings.

I had a slight snaffu where I switched Clay points in my brain from S7 to S4, and had to backpedal and remove the marking on two lionesses, but thankfully I noticed it quickly enough that it shouldn't slow me down.
