Idk I joined because I thought it’d be cool to collect pretty lions and make more pretty lions but I’m seeing like everyone talking about selling and generations and how if your lion is nth generation it’s worthless or if it’s dirty it’s worthless and that you can’t play without breeding and selling lions or you have to get mutations and all this stuff

And idk I just wanted to have fun getting cool looking lions and yknow simulate playing with lions but now I’m not sure this game is for me because of all of this.

You don't have to sell lions. I very rarely sell lions, I make most of my money in this game from the events and selling crafting ingredients. Multiple thousands of SB and GB from this over the years, hundreds of thousands of SB in fact. I strongly emphasize to people that are unsure to not focus on the "lion market" because it's extremely volatile and is often just frustrating at best. Selling items is much easier.

You can collect and keep any lions you wish. It doesn't actually matter if they're clean or inbred or not. It just matters that you enjoy your lions.

Well that’s a relief. I dislike being told all my lions are worthless or whatever. I just wanna have fun.

Yep, you can make a lot of profit just playing the game and participating in events. And then you can buy more lions to enjoy!

Also to give you a little insight, the whole focus on clean/inbred/generations/etc is actually a relatively new thing, and some players are very, ummm, forceful, when they shouldn't be. People used to not care about it at all.

That's really a bummer if people have been giving you a hard time or you're having bad experiences :(

Yeah I’ve encountered some forceful players. That’s weird that it’s new. Maybe I just joined at the wrong time.

But yeah I just wanna collect pretty lions so that’s what I’m gonna do. Trying to get some that aren’t so dark bc my current king is dark and so all my cubs are dark lol.

I agree with Thalath.

Waaay back when I started, people didn't give two figs about inbreeding or generations of lions. Like they said, this is a new thing, probably about 3 years or so? I try to block it out if there are super aggressive people about the issue. And there are those who are like anything above G4 is useless, so to them if I had a G5 stud I won't get requests.

I'm about as casual of a player as you can get. Yeah, I breed for muties or the next cool stud. But I'm not all intense about finding a G1 Leopon stud who can't even breed (example, please don't yell at me).

I’m glad there are more people like me that don’t take this so seriously. For a while I was really having no fun because of it.

Yeah, for me personally I started doing it because a lot of the old high stat kings were all related in some way, so I wanted to try making my own new "line" and try to build up stats over time, which has been super fun. And now people have apparently started to care about generations which kind of hurts the purpose of this. And they can just arbitrarily decide your stat king is "dirty" because it's had too many cubs even if it's not inbred; even if it's G1-G2. Meh. It was just another reminder of why I didn't breed lions for profit.

I'm just doing it for my own challenge. No one should force you to play a certain way. I hope you can find more likeminded players to enjoy the game with! It's fun to try a new playstyle, but it's uncool to force it on other players.

it's mostly the wolvden players who have enforced the bullshit generation and clean/dirty status stuff. There are honestly hundreds of players as well as clans who couldn't give two shits if you bred, kept, etc. dirty or clean lions. Get Down Dirty is an example of a clan who really don't care.

Dirty breeding has no in-game effect, and if it did everyone would hate clean lions. Breeding clean is a lot harder than breeding dirty, and some projects require strictly clean-breeding only, and some don't.

The fact some things are worth more due to them being clean is mostly because it's harder to breed them, a lower generation is easy as fuck to get, so i don't see why there's a worth added to it for being low gen other than that it's rare. You play how you want, and report anyone who decides to harass you over it. There are communities who want to have their own version of the TC, and sell things fairly. but no, this game is taken way too seriously by all the newbies and users who came over from wolvden; just ignore those who take it way too seriously.

I take it semi-seriously, but i keep inbred lions despite being a clean breeder, it's all based on preference, You choose how you play, not anyone else. Also, people tell you things are worthless mainly so they can get it cheaper, so I'd ask around a bunch before determining a price.

Also, as thalath said, for the love of god never sell on the TC. The prices are honestly disgusting there and you have people junk-offering/lowballing on every trade they possibly can. Selling on the forums takes longer, but it is a lot better if you want a fair price for your stuff. Branches is also good too

Yeah the absolute state of the TC.............. I've seen people publicly say they intentionally offer garbage on high value trades "as a joke".

It's been bad for a long, long time now unfortunately, and I think it's only gotten more rampant.

It's gotten awful since the spike in players from the 250s IDs to the 400s IDs between 2022 jan to 2022 dec. Now it's just a really bad place to sell anything.

i undersold a 5.6k stat g5 PRIMAL that was fucking clean for less than 50GB. I struggled getting it to sell like that, whilst there's dirty ones selling for like 186GB+

The problem with market is that, for some reason, a lot of people always thought that selling lions should be their main source of income. That's not true for Lioden - and that's not true for Wolvden, either, so I believe some other games like Furry Paws are the culprit here. People come from games heavily based on selling bred offspring, and try to play by that market's example - but Lioden is different. That's what gives the impression Lioden is a difficult and serious game, while in truth, some people are just playing it like they do other games, and then stress when they struggle.

But just because some people are doing it, it doesnt mean you also have to follow mindsets inspired by other games you dont even play. You dont have to sell lions at all - in fact, selling them is a very minor, unstable source of income. You can play the game however you like, even for earning GB, selling lions is not even in top 5 of the best ways to earn it! There are lots of ways to play and lots of projects you can be doing, and you certainly dont have to sell any lions to excell in them. You can even solo Lioden without ever selling or buying anything; interacting with other users is beneficial but definitely not necessary to play. Oasis items are purely optional, and you can play the game never using GB even, or just buy it from other users with SB you earn through gameplay.

Lioden has a lot of freedom in how to play it! You should play the way YOU enjoy, not looking at how other people play the game!

The best way in my experience in selling to the monkey, as well as selling profitable event items. You can also get 1Gb/1000sb per every 100 uses of food/amusement items. lions are a very useless thing market-wise, despite the game being centered around lions.

Lioden breeding is too randomised to be the "center" of it; I would say Lioden is a lion sim, focused on Being the lion (notice how king is referred to as your avatar, any actions with him says "Me/Mine"), and breeding is more of a side feature. A big, complex side feature that's a lot of gamble, and can be a fun lottery to play, but definitely not the center of the game nor a major way of earning currency.

Being an old player that has recently come back after a few years, this is how I feel about the current climate of Lioden too but I've always played very casually and just kept lions I think look cool and earned tons of SB and GB from selling items.
