I'll begin by asking about what are the most popular bases and markings atm. Also if there's been notable changes in gameplay I should be aware of that happened in the time I was gone 2020-2023.
Regarding the community, how is the general sentiment towards leopons and tigons nowadays? They were incredibly sought after back then, is this still the case?
Feel free to explain things to me like I'm a baby btw. I've long forgotten about all the terminology except for a few things. Thank you!

As far as mutations and bases and markings, my observations are that the trend right now seems to be BO anything, low generation, and clean. There's been a push toward G1/Heritageless kings (made by heritage repping a groupie). But what, exactly, is in vogue moves fast. My honest advice here is play around with what you like in the wardrobe and go from there. You'll find a niche you enjoy.

Hybrids (Tigons and Leopons) are still highly sought after. Gons go for a bit more than Pons.

Oh hey! I stopped playing around that time too and came back a few months ago- one thing I've noticed is that the market's changed, and lions with shorter heritage that are free from any inbreeding tend to be more popular than other lions (being called 'Clean' lions).

They also added a few storyline changes for some events, like the upcoming July event- I believe they've completely rehauled it, but this will be my first July event in a long while!

There's also new breed-only skins, eyes, and bases (you just missed this year's May event groupie base if you came back very recently- it's called Abyssinian, and I am personally in love with it).

I'm not the most active member of the community, but the userbase outside of Lioden itself seems a lot more chill when I check in, so I can imagine the community on-site is vibing as well!

Thank you both very much. This should give me an idea of how things are at the moment. Fun to see that hybrids are still popular, I imagined something else would've replaced the people's love for them already hahaha.
I've noticed the heritageless preference in the few days I've been here again, back then people also liked heritageless kings but it was a more specific niche within the clean breeding community.
Also you don't know how happy it makes me to hear that they've changed storylines and revamped events, I'm excited now and looking forward to the July event. If I stick around that is lol

Much like you I played around 2018-2019 and then stopped playing after achieving all my goals! I came back mid April this year , so about 2 and a half months ago

Here is the main info that'll help you get on your feet and if you have any more questions you can feel free to ask or pm me

• I don't know whether you were always a Clean breeder like I am but if not know that nowadays pretty much everyone breeds clean
If you're searching for a new king a low Gen (gens 1-3) is preferred
Most people try going for heritageless

• Breed only markings and traits are your best friends , the more breed only traits and marks your lion has the more desirable he is

• The market is in a bad state - prices of pretty much almost everything are incredibly low, selling stuff takes a while! Keep that in mind if you mass breed like I do sometimes.
You may often find yourself in the situation of needing to chase off and abandon cubs instead of selling cause the the market is so bad and slow at the moment
Unfortunately it's become a thing cause it's too hard to sell
I often abandon when they reach 1 year and 11 months if they don't sell and they're not worth waiting till they sell as adults

• Dawn base and markings were all the rave until recently however they crashed recently as July event is starting
I recommend if you plan on getting a new king to try and get something new from the July event as as always it's the most expected event of the year when it comes to a new base and markings

• Mutation wise if we are talking for your king, Ferus is super popular and after that some sort of pie mutation (Haven't seen a particular trend in pies so far, except the fact people dislike the ticked pie mutation so dont get that unless you like it and want it yourself).
Hybrids like leopon and tigons are as always sought after nothing new on this end

In terms of big changes I'm still figuring things out
I heard the July event changed pretty drastically so I'm waiting to see what's it gonna be like
But except that the game is pretty much the same :p

As I have played more these past few days I'm getting back into the hang of things slowly and noticing the trends you speak of regarding low generation Kings. It's very interesting to see how this subset of clean breeding became so popular. I'm amazed that clean breeding has become so prevalent in general, back then a huge portion of players just didn't care. I imagine there sre still those who don't but compared to some years back I really haven't seen anyone advertising dirty studs at all.
And the market, oh boy. Never been a player who cares about the economy of a game or about minmaxing but when I checked trades the other day I got a big surprise seeing clean primals listed for so little sb haha.
