As I'm sure you're all aware, the dwarf market has crashed. Dwarves cost more than they are worth to sell in order to breed and that lack of lucrativity of the mutation is causing it to be worth nothing in the market. Everyone is selling their dwarves because they're just too expensive to maintain and don't make a profit; myself included.

I would like to suggest that changes be made to dwarves, such as a new type of breeding item being implemented for dwarves that can be purchased from Oasis similar to the pennyroyal but for female dwarves. Or at the very least give dwarves a small chance at passing when bred without items.

If you disagree, please give a comment entailing why so I can edit my post to cover things I may not be recognizing.

To address dwarves flooding the market after this item is introduced...

I can foresee a massive influx of dwarves causing the market to be flooded, but the way to stop that is by merely adjusting the rate at which this item produces dwarves to an appropriate level which I believe the moderators can balance.

The reason the demand for dwarves seems so low is because they are terrible to breed. Nobody wants to pay for something that will cost more to breed than it will net in profit and it spirals the more the price goes up for lion scrotes and buffy balls.

There isn't low demand for dwarves; if you gave away a dwarf right now I guarantee you it would blow up with claims. Nobody wants to pay for them because they aren't going to make you anything in the future.

The demand is low because they are so expensive to breed for a majority of the year. Not because there is a ton of them. Nobody wants to own a waste of space mutation that makes them no profit.

The dwarves worth is most likely gonna go up again during black friday. Same with hybrids.

Yeah, it also doesnt help that people are just breeding crap dwarves. I havent really seen a decent low gen dwarf with decent markings. So that also has to do with why dwarves cost so much, plus people just want quick sales. if you really had patience you can get your full worth.

Ferus breeding exclusive for it's the only primal that passes both it's mutations from both genders. Pennyroyal is male only.
1.) What system do you think would fit the oasis item for dwarves?
I'd assume an item for female due to dwarf is a female mutation. Male dwarves don't act any special, kinging them is like any other hybrid kings, they act like regular kings. But yet, adding an item that helps dwarf breeding would kill the purpose of lion scrotums for dwarf breeding then?
(Yes, Lion scrots can be used for DU's or other female mane muts such as Succubus or Imperial, etc but note some of the female mane mutations are breedable via hellraiser/incubus/diabolic/Tufted/sideburn/etc)

2.) How would the item roll? Via Mutation Roll. What order would it be placed in? What can it stack with? what can't it stack with?

3.) Why would players want to buy this item if they know dwarf reverse heats sell 3-5gb but yet they might waste buying that item + the payment on top of that for nothing. It's like wasting a lion scrotum if it was just, severely cheaper.

@stormie
im a mane mut breeder, i understand its frustruating to breed non-passing muts and having the breeding items be sky high in prices

yeah it sucks, but its the risk you take with breeding those kinds of lions tbh

No support - below is me explaining my reasoning.
Dunno what a tone tag is but not trying to be rude. Just my opinion on why I don’t support.

Dwarves are not naturally passable as mutations go. This means you need an item, lion scrotums, to have the *chance* for the dwarf mutation to pass down.
I have bred both dirty and clean dwarves personally and bought/sold each. And still often sell dwarf cubs and heats. And I often get dwarves in my next litter, I know this isn't a guarantee but it's my personal experience.
The prices of lions and any items in the trading market reflect people's needs and want. When there are often 3k users per hour each day, it is expected that this to change up and down a lot. The "dwarf market crash" is nothing new.
Most people don't realize that breeding more dwarves means needing lion scrotums for the mutation to have the chance to pass AND often other items like black stallion, great tit, grain of paradise, and buffalo scrotum to help the breeding process. Therefore many people sell dwarves for low prices for various reasons. Lower-quality dwarves, older dwarves, and inbred dwarves are often sold for low amounts. SO adding in yet another item is not going to help, it would just hurt.

I do not support for many of the reasons people have stated above.

I don't support. I'm gonna try to add reasons I didn't see or missed.

1.) It'd be too easy to breed/obtain them if we got the item. Let's say the item is 8gb, it'd be too hard to flip that price into something higher. It just makes dwarfs lower but it's be easier to breed with the new item, making lion scrotum remotely useless for dwarfs if there's a more affordable option out there.

Reverse possibility, for this option, everything stays the same. If you lower the pass rate, let's say to 10%, the 8gb=10% would still be about the same for the 25gb=25% pass rate and would basically just be adding an item that already exists at lower levels, which wouldn't be worth any time and effort to code and add it in.

2.) Wouldn't be fair to players who had to work so hard to get the items needed for them just for there to be a cheaper item added. You can grind during February to get the items you need, making any sales on dwarfs profit because you didn't spend gb on the items.

3.) If you're really currently worried about making profit on dwarfs now, I suggest breeding low Gen, even though market sucks, low Gen will always profit. Or get applicator bases from shop and add them on there, it'll make them a little bit more valuable. Dwarfs usually aren't usually seen as the profitable kind, as I've seen complaints for nearly 2 and a half years now. It took me 45ish regular cubs before I finally had 2 dwarf passes, it's all about luck.

Prices are wacky right now with everything, its going to take time to push them back to regularish prices. This game is about grinding and playing these events so you earn the things you want, I don't think it's fair to older players, or anyone, if they just know added something cheaper and more available because the newer players want it to be easily available.

I also agree with north, as someone who's been here quite awhile, we don't expect anyone newer to be filthy rich and afford all these things. Sometimes it's best to sit back and enjoy the game before diving into pocket draining activities. Get a bunch of things saved, I did that and it took me two years to comfortably get a dwarf. Alas she didn't pass, but if she did it would have all been profit and I wasn't drowning in trying to get items. I really do hope you get to a point where you can enjoy the fun of breeding dwarfs and not have to struggle, they really are fun and a pain in the butt at the same time 😅

Mhm! I've been playing for almost a year and a half now. I don't get into dwarfs cause of I personally don't necessarily like them but also due to prices as I know I can't currently afford to breed them. Which I don't mind. Same goes for hybrids and DU's. They are expensive to breed as such usually you wait until you can financially afford to breed them! Hope that makes sense.

I just feel like the basic barrier to entry personally should be a bit easier throughout the year to encourage the market to stabilize rather than just crash yearly. I've heard from players that have played longer than me that dwarves typically have this crash yearly from what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong.

I would like to see dwarves stabilized for a better "quality of life" for breeders if that makes sense. I hated having to see my first dwarf go, but I just couldn't justify keeping her when I was wasting heat after heat because she was never worth it to breed.

There's so many better things a lion scrotum can go towards when the market feels this bad for dwarves. I miss the day when I could sell a dwarf for y'know 20GB and justify the 10-15GB loss by working hard and selling food every day.

I don't know. That's just how I feel about it. I find myself missing the dwarf market more and more as the days pass and I wish it could feel okay all year round.

I agree. If anything, it would be nice to see different variations of dwarves that could be more valuable. I.e. whiskered, Fluffy, ect. Dwarves are definitely not worth it as is and I think it's kinda crap that newbies don't know.
