I LOVE this! If you want it to look more like the mushroom maybe lean it towards a more tan color rather than gray/taupe, like in the reference. But if this gets implemented I'd be stoked regardless!

i was actually thinking about shifting the color to something a bit warmer- i picked all of the colors from the reference, but all from different mushrooms in the picture so it shifted kinda cool somehow-

Yeah that happens a lot in references. Has something to do with color theory! Essentially the natural/artificial light affects how we see colors interact with their environment. It's something all artists struggle with. Something that appears purple in a picture could color drop to blue- lovely design though! I think you did a great job

Should be a good starting point! Idk what program you were using, but I found when I altered the *tint* it gave me that pink result you were talking about. Instead I adjusted the *saturation*, then exposure to lighten up whatever got accidentally darkened. <3

oh nice! i use procreate on an ipad, and theres like, 3 different ways to alter colors on there, so i kinda just messed with a bunch of stuff but i always find that stuff confusing despite using procreate for the past 3 or so years- but i'll mess with the saturation and see how it goes!!

ok, so! i messed with the saturation and stuff and made it warmer and lighter, and on the ipad it looks warmer! but on my laptop it doesnt- so it might just be my laptop screen-

I like the idea, love some natural colored bases. Defo support. :)

Maybe just a little thing: for me personally the neck and the white belly don't blend well with the dark areas. Maybe that could be a bit smoother?
Specifically the back leg to belly and the thorax - neck connections

This looks so cool! A lot of the cream bases look too similar, in my opinion, so this would spice things up nicely!
