FloweringRiver thought for a moment. Clearly these two were mates seeking a territory in order to start their own pride. He'd have to be careful not to point them in a direction too close to his own pride's lands.
He looks to the side and into the far distance, ears perked forward. "I think that way is clear. I haven't heard news of a pride being down south yet" His tail gives a swish, disturbing the grass behind him.

Scipio wasn't entirely sure whether he could trust FloweringRiver - but he'd have to get them out of this confusing situation first. Slowly he started walking in the indicated direction, but kept looking over his shoulder, where floweringriver was still standing.

Viper didn’t speak much after her greeting to them. And since the strange male let the other believe they were pride-mates, she didn’t correct him. she just listened to their words to figure out what they were talking about. So this male is looking for unclaimed territory for his own pride? Viper thought silently. Maybe this could work out for the better? When the male that was supposedly her pride mate started to walk away, she thanked the other male for his help and followed her supposed pride mate. Once they were out of ear shot of the other male, she took it upon herself to introduce herself to him. “Hey,” She smiled softly as she fell into step beside him. “I’m Viper,”

Scipio seemed unsure and his eyes darted around like a cornered cat - but he eventually straightened up and looked Viper in the eyes.

"Hi. Sorry about that - telling him that we... It would just confuse things."

He checked to see if FloweringRiver was still standing there.

"I'm Scipio, by the way."

Viper watched him and shrugged. “That’s alright, it was understandable as to why you did it,” She smiled kindly, hoping to ease his obvious nervousness. “It’s nice to meet you, Scipio,” She dipped her head politely. “So, what’s the next step after you find your own territory?” She tilted her head slightly, her curiosity showing brightly in her bright blue eyes.

FloweringRiver watched as the two began to travel once more. He didn't see them as a threat anymore and continued on his way to check the rest of his prides borders.
A weight was lifted off his shoulders now, glad that this confrontation had been a pleasant one and not become a fight. His paw steps were heavy, parting the grass with each step as he traveled, enjoying the warmth of the sun against his back

Seeing the other male leave, Scipio now focused his attention on Viper's question.

"I'm not really quite sure yet. *sighs* I've just kinda been on the run for the past few years. I often find a place to stay, just until a stronger male comes and kicks me out."

A sad gleam appears in Scipio's eyes. He shakes of the weird feeling and straightens up again.

"How about we go hunting? We'll catch more if there's two of us."

Viper nods. “Yeah! A hunt sounds great!” She smiles and looks around for anything that the two of them could hunt. “If we’re lucky, maybe there is a herd of Gazelle or Zebras around here.”

//Sorry I haven't replied in a while, I was on a school camp and devices weren't allowed :)

Scipio looked at the eager lioness before him and used the idea to distract his mind from the other male and the other... troublesome things that had happened today. He raised his head towards the wind, hoping it would carry the scent of a herd of gazelle, perhaps. After a minute, or two, the faint scent of a herd of antelope wavered over.

"I can smell some antelope, but they tend to be... quite hard to kill and little food - with their horns and hooves. Feisty creatures - but very... skinny. I don't know. Should we try or just wait and see if better prey comes along?"

Viper thought about the question. ‘Would catching an antelope fill them both up?’ She didn’t think it would. “An antelope might not fill us both up so left maybe wait and fine something a little bit better, maybe?” She replied, feeling a little unsure of herself for once. She hadn’t truly interacted with other lions since she left her birth-pride and since her birth-pride was a survival of the fittest type of pride, she wasn’t used to others being so nice.

"Yeah - you're right, maybe something better will come..."

Scipio looked at the pretty lioness next to him and puffed out his chest. He sniffed the air, but couldn't smell anything worth the chase.

"Maybe if we wander around a bit, we'll come across something."

She noted that he puffed up his chest and hides a small smirk and looked towards the distance for long moment. “That sounds alright with me,” She said smiling softly at him. “Which way should we wander?”
