Leon continued to grin at them, not the least bit threatened by the knives. “Just you, I never said you should trust me. But you should really keep those knives for a real threat. And don’t pull them out right away, let your enemy underestimate you, then take them by surprise if they do attack.”

Sophia was a bit surprised, she kept a wary eye on this newcomer. If she was giving the scent of blood she wasn't safe. She looked at the boy from the tip to the ends of his hair. He was right, let your enemy underestimate you, which was what she never did, if a threat was small they were fast, if a threat was slow it was heavy...there was no winning, only surviving.
Roxanne was being chased, Sophia had no clue if she was, but with a wounded shoulder flight wouldn't be an option, she was bad enough already. Sophia's expression remained cold, she would give off no sign of weakness, and her arm was bad enough. Her lips were tight in a scowl and her eyes dilated slits. The boy posed no initial threat, but a frozen crocodile could still kill you in a second.

Leon laughed again. He shifted on his feet, crossing his arms. “Which is it? Do you want me to shut up or tell you my name?” He was having fun messing with these two. They seemed strangely on edge, and he would mention something about never letting your fear show, but the girl with the knives had already scolded him for giving them advice.

"You're a shifter- are you not? I wouldn't be surprised if you were a coyote with your antics." Sophia asked, her face unfazed. She didn't care if Roxanne ripped the boy in two. "No human can survive here with the amount roaming the biomes....at least- not for long."

Leon hummed, partially impressed with her guess, it was still wrong though. “Yes, I am a shifter. Just a Leopard though. I’d show you, but your friend might see it as a threat and start a fight.” He smirked. “Not that you’d win.” He added as a soft mumble, then spoke louder. “I’m impressed you managed to spot me up in the trees.”

Sophia chuckled, "The only way you'd find out which kind is when my paw cracks your skull." She tried crossing her arm but winced when her shoulder throbbed.

A small chill or fear ran down his spine, but Leon laughed it off. “I’m sure, maybe you should plan that when you’re not injured. And you clearly must think you’re strong, so if I were to be forced to guess I’d make the fair assumption you’re either a Tiger, Lion, or Jaguar.” He counted the three off on his fingers. “You know, considering they’re known to be pretty powerful cats. Where do you guys come from, anyway?”

"Now- Rival territory." Sophia scoffed, the pride next door had finally invaded, slaughtering everyone... she was lucky only to have a shoulder wound. "So, if you're a leopard, you just wander? Lacking any purpose in your pathetic life?"

“Oof..” He muttered feigning injury. “You got part of that right, but a wanderer still has a purpose. It’s just tied to any of those annoying ‘other people problems’. I take care of all my own issues, and when I’m feeling generous sometimes I offer my time to help out other wanders. My life is far from pathetic. I have all the freedoms in the world.” He grinned. “My only enemies hate me for being me, not for my family, alliances, or where I live. I have no worry about, what did you say…? ‘Rival territory?’ That sounds a bit like Lion speak. You guys have your whole ‘pride’ thing going on, don’t you? I bet you got wrapped up in some battle simply because you were born in one specific area.” He narrowed his eyes, still smiling. “Seems a little unfair don’t you think? Especially to then label a wanderer as pathetic. That’d be another Lion thing now that I think about it…”

"Here I was thinking you were smart, a cat of any size has a territory, lion, tiger, even leopards." She chuckled. "Lions serve a purpose through their families, whether it's taking care of the cubs, hunting, or patrolling. You may be cunning and lack the weight of the world, but you also lack loyalty, no one to watch out for you or help you when you get your behind in a tight spot. Seems pathetic to me."

He tilted his head to the side thoughtfully. “Now that may be true about your dear Tigers and Jaguars, but they tend to also be fairly solitary aren’t they? Either way, I have friends scattered about. Now sure, my travels bring me far from them, but if I was near and heard they were in trouble I wouldn’t hesitate to help. That’s the thing about you guys living in your groups, you always assume the worst of us lonely wanderers. And I’d sure hope I’d know my own skill level enough to not get into any ‘tight spots’..” He shifted on his feet again, casting a wayward glance to the sky. He brought his gaze back down and waited expectantly for more words from the Lion-girl.
