Firenkyo 🌼 no, Im not responding to opening post, Im responding to the post above my previous post - to user who repeatedly claims there need to be measures taken, despite my arguments that we first need to see what the cultural consultant will actually say about the matter. I am taking their persistent posts as proof they believe cultural consultants are called upon to unconditionally just censor every instance of user reporting something as "offensive". But Wolvden's example have proven 9 of 10 reports were deemed as NOT offending the original culture, and I feel much of the same will happen here.

Obviously, blatant racism will be deemed offensive by the dedicated cultural consultant, and removed if it is found. But displaying Anubis as a sweet soul rather than an oldest god? I am NOT sure this case can be deemed offensive. Same with displaying Apollyon as truly loving Menhit, when in the original story he's a conqueror. Some things are more of a case of "personal opinion" on the reporter's side, rather than actually offensive, and I mean these kinds of reports that need cultural consultant to dismiss them as "not offensive".

I support this suggestion, of course. But I underline - it doesnt mean ALL user reports will just be immediately censored out of the site, that's not what happened in Wolvden because the cultural consultant have confirmed most reports were actually not offensive. The cultural consultant obviously first needs to take a look! If any instances of art or depiction are found offensive, Im certain admins will solve that issue, of course. BUT many of the reports will be filtered out as "not offensive", as well. Like the above examples with Anubis and Apollyon I strongly believe will be deemed an acceptable creative interpretation.

I strongly support this. I've been playing LD, on and off, for a long time. I've genuinely struggled to become involved with the community because I've seen people say some really out-of-pocket things with no repercussions. I hope people don't read this suggestion and think this is going to make LD change significantly. Hiring a cultural consultant, in all likelihood, probably wouldn't change the game drastically and would likely make the space much more comfortable for a lot of the community.

It feels like folks see stuff like this and assume the worst. In reality, it's about not continuing cycle and being more respectful going forward.

But for some, respect is a big ask and they'll assume the worst.

As someone who doesn't play Wolvden, I had no idea they had one! It doesn't make any sense for Wolvden to have a cultural consultant and not let Lioden have a consultant also.

To be honest, I didn't even know cultural consultants were a thing, I thought everyone just did their research and used common sense to decide if things are okay to add- but yeah, I don't understand why they would give Wolvden one and not Lioden?
