D.I.N.O. Expeditions
🦴Tiny Dino Adoptables!🦴

Status: OPEN
Rules & Alt Pricing

-Instructions-

The Hunters' Expedition Manual

This manual is for D.I.N.O. accredited Hunters ONLY.

The job of an Egg Hunter is to find and collect dinosaur eggs for research purposes within authorized regions. As of this moment, there are 2 regions available for exploration and 3 species have been identified.

To get started, fill out an Exploration Request form. It costs to explore to cover the cost of fuel, equipment, fees, etc. If you manage to find an egg, it will cost additional if you choose to incubate and hatch it. Once the egg is hatched, you are responsible for whatever comes out of it.

Of course, not every exploration attempt results in the discovery of an egg. This is where your training comes in. Use the knowledge gained from any encounters you may have had to help you on your search.

This should have covered the basics. Stay safe, and happy hunting.

-Regions-

-Valley-
Nestled between luscious hills, this area is a popular resting place due to it's flowing freshwater river and ample shade.

Cost to explore: 100
Cost to incubate: 2

-Great Plains-
Flat grasslands as far as the eye can see. Wind howls in your ears and you can see movement in the distance.

Cost to explore: 150
Cost to incubate: 3

-Nursery-

This is where abandoned eggs are put up for adoption.
Each egg costs 4 to incubate and is shown with how the dino is projected to look like once hatched.

Parasaurolophus

Triceratops

-Custom Incubation Chamber-

With amazing new advancements in technology, D.I.N.O. is now able to modify a dinosaur's appearance whilst inside the egg. Hunters that are interested can fill out Custom Egg Request form. Customs eggs cost 5 to incubate.

The halo of light beckons you over. You answer it's call. The sight of what awaits makes all of your efforts feel worth it. You spot an egg!

How do you proceed?

> Return to base with both eggs for incubation
> Keep both eggs in your backpack and continue exploring
> Leave one egg behind and continue exploring

**Please note our data indicates that there is currently a shortage of eggs and it may take some time for nature to replenish it's supply.

//AN: This is fancy talk for the artist needs some time to make more dinos

Beginning Hyper-Incubation sequence....0%...25%...50%...80%....Incubation #1 complete

The first incubation chamber unlocks and reveals...

A Triceratops!

Beginning Hyper-Incubation sequence....0%...25%...50%...80%....Incubation #2 complete

The second incubation chamber unlocks and reveals...

Another Triceratops!

The ground rumbles as these two exit their incubation chambers. They clumsily bump into anything in their path, knocking down infirmary equipment and scientists alike. You quickly herd them towards the exit before they can break anything else.

If I were to put it in my backpack and continue exploring, could I incubate it later?

Yes, you can save the egg to incubate later.
An additional exploration in the Great Plains will be [150 ].

You set out early in the morning for a long day of exploration. The area you start your search in seems to have been trampled by a large herd recently. There's more dirt than grass everywhere, which would've made it difficult to see a small chocolate colored shape embedded in the soil. You spot an egg!

You carefully place the egg into your backpack and continue exploring.

Satisfied with your find, leave the area and had south. The grass returns and soon you're walking through a field of flowers. They bloom in vibrant shades of pinks, purples, blues, and more. It's a wonderful sight. However, you're here on a mission and you must keep your eyes peeled. Among a patch of soft pink flowers, you spot an egg!

You carefully place the egg into your backpack and continue exploring.

Near the flower field is a medium sized lake. To your disappointment, you seem to be the only visitor at the moment. The lake's surface is peaceful besides the occasional rippling from the wind. You circle the water until something catches your eye further ahead of you on the bank. You spot an egg!

How would you like to proceed?

> Return to base with both eggs for incubation
> Keep both eggs in your backpack and continue exploring
> Leave one or more eggs behind and continue exploring

The sun is beginning to set as you set out for a night expedition. With the light of the full moon, and your night vision goggles of course, you think now is the perfect time to go out exploring. Unfortunately, you aren't the only one. There's movement in the tall grass that follows you closely behind, and your Hunter instincts warn you it probably doesn't belong to any pack of Parasaurolophus. You don't have time to search for eggs as you quickly evacuate the area.

~

It's been a couple of hours since you left the field of tall grass and thankfully nothing of the man-eating nature followed you out. You're disappointed you didn't manage to find an egg but you don't let it stop you from carrying out the rest of your expedition. You end up in a much rockier and open area that almost seems to be... glittering? Upon further inspection, some of the stones here have some sort of reflective property that make them shimmer in the moonlight. Among them you catch a different type of shimmer- you found an egg!

How do you proceed?

> Return to base for incubation
> Put it in your backpack and continue exploring
> Leave it and continue exploring

The para sits up on it's front legs, not seeming to be in any hurry to leave the incubation chamber. It's seems indifferent to the whistles and calls of you and the lab scientists, simply fixing you with a blank stare. Eventually you manage to lure it out with some oats. Mission success!

A highly unusual trio! The parasaurolophuses circle the much smaller and nervous-looking velociraptor. You wonder if they understand that the raptor is a different species from them, or if they think it must be a strange-looking runt. Either way, you step before they can give the poor raptor a heart attack.
