Basically, I feel we’ve all been scorned before having a cub we wanted age up and forgetting to give them a brood mother. I just propose a warning on the cubs page. Something like, this cub may die tomorrow if it isn’t protected.

And/or maybe the ability to choose a brood mother with available slots from the cubs page would help.

Edit to respond to possible counter arguments:
While there is the skull icon next to at risk cubs within the cave page, I believe it is easy to overlook, especially if the cub you want is among cubs you dont care about. A text box warning would be more helpful to those that need it, as you are more likely to click on the individual cub's page. it is also easy to ignore if you don't care for the cub.

There is already a very similar feature for un-nested pregnant lions, it would be no different.
The reason for this is that it would help players mitigate mistakes happening because of a bad memory or not being completely on top of which cubs are being kept.

And to clarify this: The ideal notification would be kept exclusively to the individual cubs page to avoid further congested den page notifs. A den page notif may also be annoying for cubs you don’t care about, so I reiterate that I would want this only for the individual.

While I agree there is some personal responsibility to be had, I think it is a fair balance, as it is still entirely possible for the cub to die. Cub death is very permanent and can be devastating. This is a simple reminder. It wouldn't negatively affect anyone, and only reaps positive benefits for those it helps.

I am not asking for this to solve cub death, as I believe it is a good balance to a relatively easy game. It’s entirely possible for a cub to die outright before getting an injured cub notification on rollover. I would be content even without a roll notif, just the banner would be enough of a reminder. I think almost every other type of danger that affects your lions gets a text box warning except for this.

This suggestion has 37 supports and 28 NO supports.

I'm with Mad Hyena. I'd also like to add some things:
- there's a warning in the daily rollover message too. I believe it's towards the top of the message.

- if the cub is that important the person will hunt down a available broodmother and protect the cub before weaned just in case. You're allowed 1 broodmother for every 10 territory. Unless you have a large pride, you won't have many to go through.

- Theres CSS that makes it to where at a glance you can see the lions in all your sorted caves. I actually have a free one on this account so I can check on my pride all at once.

- Feed all play all works like a brood mother. You just have to push play all. If currency is a issue you can easily save up during those 30 days. It's 5gb.

If nothing works for a person and they get upset over it then maybe this game isn't the one for them. Theres ways around cub death. The main cause is human error. If the staff find it doable, I would be ok to see a drop down box for available broodmothers added eventually though!

adding onto lunarknight and mad hyena here, you can also purchase an item to boost the cub's survival rate.
there is indeed plenty of warning on if your cub will die and i for one am against giving too much on a silver platter

Haven’t voted yet, but I’m leaning towards no support. It’s really not that hard to prevent a cub from dying. As others have stated, we already have the skull, plus we get the cub accident messages at rollover if a cub’s survival bar is starting to drop to a possibly dangerous level. I can see people who have a lot of cubs at one time having an issue about not being able to protect the cubs, but even then we have a few things to stop their bar from going down. Play with them, feed them, use the hornbill major-domo, or better yet, protect them as soon as they’re born. Even if you only want to protect the important cubs, but have the issue of not knowing which cub is the important cub in the brood mother dropdown, you can just name them something like “important”, or “protect me.” Put it in caps if you have to. I’m very forgetful myself, but it will still take days for a cub to get to the point where they can die, days where you can realise “oh, that cub’s survival rate is low/they’re not protected”.

TLDR; we already have warnings, and there are a few different options to prevent a cub from getting to the point that they can die.

I’d say the difference between a notice like this is that there isn’t always days and days where they are at risk. It can happen if you forget to play for one day, sometimes the percentage chance just rolls bad enough. It’s a very simple, unobtrusive warning. Easy to ignore, but still helpful.

It's a warning that isn't needed. Who doesn't protect a important cub before weaned? We have 5 rollovers before they wean and their survival starts to drop.

What is a game simulator?
A simulation game attempts to copy various activities from real life in the form of a game for various purposes such as training, analysis, prediction, or entertainment.

Lioden is a animal sim game so to make it too easy to play will defeat the fact that it's a simulator. We're lucky we get pride warning banners about lions leaving and ageing up without enough space to adjust. For hunger/boredom the banner activates when a adolescent is 1y 11m and over 50% while a adult is over 50%. That gives folks 2 days to act for adults and 1 for adolescents. Any warning banner in general to get ones attention will direct them to look at their lions. Especially the important ones.
