hi there!! recently, i've been getting into making quick base concepts for fun. i wanted to share these two (as the title probably reveals) silly bird-themed bases because i really liked how they turned out! these were just for fun, so don't take them too seriously- i thought other players might like to see my ideas! see macaw v2 at the bottom of the thread!
more bases will come soon!!! probably just as i get inspired by images and in-game items! base one. . .lovebird base!i based this off of the image for the lovebird plumage item. although it can be bought in the flirt shop, i thought this item, along with a few other types of feathers, could be crafted to make the applicator for this base during february. i think it'd be cute to include flamingo feathers, kingfisher feathers, and grey crowned crane feathers in the recipe! i thought maybe golden light countershaded special would be a good fit for it so it can be with other green-ish bases.  here it is with magpie thrown on just for fun! i thought the matching bird name was silly.  base two. . .macaw base!this one was just for fun, and surely way too colorful to be added to lioden (ignore hexaplex and decennial). i've always wanted a rainbow base, though, and i think a scarlet macaw themed base would be a cute way to go about it! i think a combination of different feathers and rainbow stones could be used to craft it, maybe during december? not a very macaw-y month, but it feels more lighthearted and fun than the rest of the events :) maybe red medium countershaded special for the genetics?  🏝️ 🌈 again, i'll probably come back later with more bird bases once the inspiration hits me (i'm already thinking of canary, god knows we need another yellow base lol). feel free to tell me what you think- positive or negative! remember that the point is to be colorful like the birds they were inspired by, but i understand if these bases aren't for everyone! i'm not an experienced base maker at all, so i could definitely benefit from some tips too! thanks for looking at my little base thread!!! 🏝️ 🌈 hi!! here's the lineless versions- i forgot them in the original post. oopsie
i appreciate all the kind words and feedback as well as the 85 (11.10 - now over 200! goodness!) supports! thank you so much!!! this is definitely a process for me, ive only made a few bases before and never even posted them before this, so this is all very new to me! these are obviously subject to change, i might have some epiphany or something about the designs later on down the road LOL also i want to mention the fact that macaws are not native to africa- i didn't make a macaw base under the assumption that they are, i simply thought the colors would be nice on a lioden base! however, (personally) i don't think it's a big deal that they're foreign animals, but i understand how it would feel strange for some, and im ok with not supporting for that reason. i'm open to the idea of renaming the base to fit a bird species native to africa, but the ones i've looked into just feel better off as their own base concept and don't exactly match the base i already have. ive had a few thoughts on how to tweak it, though! i thought it would be a fun idea if the fact that they come from another continent was the entire point of the base. we already have an explore encounter relating to the capture and exchange of rare birds, so i think that could be incorporated into how this base is obtained. just an idea, though! thanks for all the feedback and support- it means a lot! if anyone has any thoughts on how to improve the appearance of macaw i would love if some ideas were thrown out too! |

To be honest, it would be cool if the macaw base were an applicator found through some events' encounter or in a shop. I was particularly thinking of March, as it is all about poaching and scarlet macaws alongside other macaws are poached from the wild for the pet trade. Maybe you find it in a rare drop from battling poachers? I think both are SUPER cute and lovebird would fit right in with Febuary. :] Edit: Some suggestions I think would be excellent would be some owls! A barn owl base would be really beautiful. Vultures too, especially ones like King Vultures and White-backed Vultures. Not enough love for my favorite scavengers out there 3 1 player likes this post! oh my goodness i totally forgot about march!! i think thats an excellent idea! i had a hard time thinking about where macaw would fit but i think it fits nicely with march! it also reminds me of the rainbow after the storm background, which is in the preservers i think? thank you so much for your feedback :) 0 players like this post!
