Paused while I rethink how I want to do these. If you have purchased mimleots in the past and love them very much like I do, feel free to pm me I'd be happy to discuss any customs or explores or what have you there but only if you already have at least one. I just don't want to expand these right now. Info Rules
This is an open species. You may make your own if you like, and whether or not you follow the actual guidelines for the species is entirely up to you. The original idea of these is that they're a cross of bears, foxes, and lions, and I came up with these when I was like seventeen.
This is a genderless species, so any pair can be bred to make a new little mimleot cub. For now, only the adult lines are available, but if these get enough attention, I might make a cub base.
Once purchased, you will receive the version without the watermark. Let me know if you have a Toyhouse and I can transfer the character to you that way.
Once purchased, you may not remove my credit, but you can make alterations to the design if you wish. Please do not trace, use for AI, or do anything else unethical with my work.
Currently the only other user authorized to use this exact base and sell adoptables is thystle (#14796). If you wish to make your own mimleots, you may make your own base. As stated in the info, if you make your own, I won't enforce any of the species guideline or anything. I make these for fun, so I'd rather others have fun with it too. I just ask that you don't sell any mimleots on-site unless authorized to do so.
Lastly, if you ever choose to resell a mimleot you have purchased, that is fine, but do not sell it for more than you bought it for. I may be willing to buy it back myself, but only if it is an unaltered adopt. I will not buy back any customs or any mimleots that have had any shop items used on it.
Lore Variants
Mimleots are a critically endangered species. They were once thought o have gone completely extinct due to the fur trade, being hunted for their tails and their gloriously soft manes that they care for diligently, but there were still signs they were around. Researchers sought them out, seeking out the bits of shed fur and claws that they could find. Some sightings were reported, but they were considered dubious. It just had to be a normal fox.
Due to the perseverance of one specific researcher, they made a breakthrough. In a small grove in an unassuming forest they finally found them. They'd made a whole community hidden deep within a dense forest. With nothing btu their own paws, they'd planted trees, shrubs, and all other sorts of plants to wall themselves in and stay out of sight.
That first meeting was rough. The researcher was attacked by mimleots wanting to protect what was left of their population, terrified of what this intruder could mean for them. It took months for the researcher to build enough trust with them to be allowed in once more. They recorded all their findings of the community within, the intricacies of it, and just how greatly it differed from what had been recorded in the past. What once had been a sprawling species of individuals meeting up out of obligation had become dependent on one another, coming together to survive.
Now, multiple groves exist, all heavily protected by conservationists. Many mimleots stay within, only leaving to hunt, but some have grown curious. They've become more confident in the peacetime. They want to see the greater world beyond their groves.
Starting with the two largest groves, the conservationists have begun an adoption program for those who long to meet more people and create families of their own and be able to run free like their ancestors had, but also valuing the companionship of their own upbringing. There is strength in numbers, and there is also comfort there. The world is a big place, and it's scary to be alone. Those who have left have also found that it's quite nice to curl up in a human's lap and have their mane brushed.
The temperament of those who have taken on a more domesticated lifestyle is similar to that of house cats, but while being the size of a large dog. They're omnivores with a diet that is heavy in protein. Any fruits and vegetables are mostly for variety and for mane health. The nutrients help with the shine, which helps them attract mates.
Marks:
They can have up to six, but two or three is the most common.
