So me and a new friend were talking about the economy here on Lioden and how so many new people, as well as old people alike, really don't price lions at their real value. I feel everybody has their own standard, but what if there was a way to get a good price estimate so that new players know if they're getting cheated, or how much is a fair offer (instead of just trying to give away all their feathers for a 500 Stat, Prune, lion...) or to help others just find a good value for their cubs based off of stats, base color, eyes, and of course which and how many markings a lion has. I know that indecision has always been a problem with many players. :P

I feel if there was a guide system here on Lioden where you could get an estimate to follow could really help some players out immensely.

Important Note: I do NOT think this should be a mandatory thing. The price evaluator would not force a player to price a lion at that set price, only offer guidance. A player still has the free will to price a lion at whatever value they wish.

You might even have to pay a little bit of SB to get the estimate.
Personally, I feel like this should be either a free system or like the scrying stone, only around 5 SB.
Players should not have to feel penalized for using something that is suppose to help them.

Now, here are some thoughts as to what the price evaluator could judge based on:

1 Stat = 1 SB
NCL Base Coat(Goldens, Fawns, Creams etc) = 10 SBs
Custom Base Coat(Mahogany, Onyx, Maltese etc) = 25 SBs
Event/Raffle Base Coat(Prune, Slate, Fiery etc) = 50 SBs
NCL Color Eyes(Yellow, White, Black etc) = 1 SB
Custom Color Eyes(Blue, Green, Pink etc) = 5 SBs
GB Color Eyes(Hetero, Red) = 10 SBs
1 NCL Marking (Golden, Cream etc) = 10 SBs
1 Custom Marking (Onyx, Mahogany etc) = 25 SBs
1 Special Marking(Vitiligo, Panther etc) = 50 SBs

I also feel that this system could give back NCL colors their worth. I've always hated that I can have a seriously gorgeous Golden Lioness w/ 10 special Markings and I still can't get a single person to make an offer on them. Giving them a price worth based on stats, coat and markings could possibly show players that they should still be viable options in sales.

And of course if you have your own system that you feel is better, do post it in the comments! :D Also any other revisions or reasons for support are things I'd love to hear. ^^

Secondary Thoughts:

-- Maybe you could decide if you want it to judge based on SB or GB? If a lion is not worth GB in anyway then it would say so.

-- My first thought was this tool could go is in the Snake family, as they seem to already have existing features along the same lines. It also could fit well in the Monkey Shop near the previewer, or the Sales Tree.

-- Maybe it would not give an exact estimate to make room for profit gain. So if your cub is valued at about 350, It would give the estimate of 300-400 SB?

Thanks for reading!

What ok look that^ is from 2014... it obviously would be a lot more or less now.... basically taking your lion and seeing relative market value for how much its being sold without having to go to the market itself

no support just cuz of how fast the market changes (for ex. the dwarf market crash). i think its better for pricing to change naturally with the community, since stuff goes in & out of popularity pretty quick

No support

The thing that makes lioden so fun for me is learning the market & watching how things rise and fall. Having a set value, it doesn't always work out & it'll be a lot of work on the admin's/mods end to update this every other month due to how the market is. Special bases come and go, when they're first out- everyone wants them but then a few months later it dies down.

I'll give you an example, I sold Patches Rift cubs. At first, during black Friday they had a high value, and were being bought out left and right- however now there are a lot in the game, and the value is lower. I just can't see this system being accurate unless someone updates it every few weeks.

Even if you say something is worth lets say 100-500sb, right? Who's to say that the value won't spike up or down? Look at GB prices for example, some months it's valued at 1200sb, other months it's over the top at 1400sb, then when those sparkle apps (i forgot the name of them) came out, and people needed SB to buy them, it went down to 850sb per 1Gb.

I feel like this would be a lot of work on the staff & eventually the prices will become inaccurate, and they have a lot on their plate right now- esp with the whole re-coding thing.

I don't know why this has been dug up, but no support still. You cannot tell players how they should price their stuff based on YOUR preferences.
MAJORITY of cubs is considered fodder. I am not going to buy a potato full of cheap applicator markings for suggested 250+ SB just to complete my gorilla enclave quest. I also don't wanna see Lilac or Haze at 100 SB just because the official evaluator said it's worth this much.

Market changes and this thread is the best example. If you wanna price check your cubs, either look for similar ones in TC or ask on chatter.

Lioden has an economy based on what we decide we like, just because things should have the same value as other things does not mean that they do and it is probably because there is no demand for it. Placing this kind of thing in the game would put too much control on a fast changing market. I have no problem finding price comparisons for lions or items on the branches and in trades, however I do know what things should be priced at and what they will fall to because I have been playing the game for like 7 years. I get how this would be helpful to newbies, but I also feel like this could be detrimental to them. This kind of feature would first, devalue things to newbies that are in high demand, and it would inflate the value for things that frankly, no one wants to buy. Yes, special gold bases should be worth more, but they aren't for a reason- there is little to no demand on the market right now. This would just confuse newbies, they would be selling lions for higher prices that aren't going to sell for them because this feature really won't accomplish what it seems would be the real purpose of it- to up the value of things that are low in demand or popularity. People are going to continue selling fodder and putting high prices on things that a lot of people want. If people want pricing guides, there are plenty of player made pricing guides in the threads that are perfectly capable of doing this same thing for people who seek them out specifically.

I just meant that on average, to me at least, it seems that gold special bases are generally not ones that make it to the same price levels as bases like Sunrise, Hibiscus, Orchid, (red examples) or like Ice, Lilac, Celestial etc. and they don't have breeding booms the same way that bases like Sunset have. I did not mean to discount them and the gold base lover community as I too have a fondness for certain gold bases.
