.::Pigeon Fancy!::.

I love pigeons, and I like pigeon genetics. So I thought it might be fun to give myself some practice drawing and interpreting Pigeon genetics through a fun free game that gives people free art to put in their dens. :3

~How To Play~

1. Every so often I will post new "Breeding Stock". These will be example pigeons that are sorted into males and female (cocks and hens) and listed by the fancier notation ( EX: Blue Bar Splash).

2. I will not revel the genotypes of any of the birds, so only their phenotypes will be known! (IE: I wont tell you what alleles they have like BB or Bb etc.) Muahaha! Mystery!

3. You pick which birds you want to be crossed (EX: Hen A with Cock B), and I will calculate the possible genotype outputs and post an image of the new baby bird(s). The offspring will be a randomly rolled bird based on the possible combinations.

4. Who ever asked for the cross gets to keep the image of the baby bird and can put it in their den fi they like! It's your own personal baby pigeon. :3 (Note: The same pair can be crossed several times, you wont' always get the same looking pigeon! ;) )

5. Then, if you want, the pigeon you bred can be added to the Breeding Stock and other people can cross Stock pigeons with yours (with your permission) or even their own birds.

6. Try your luck to see if you can figure out what genotypes the pigeons have! (This part isn't necessary, but it can be fun to tease out the many different possible combos.)

It will start out fairly simple as far as patterns and colors go, but as more people get interested I'll add fancier birds! I also promise surprises and mystery. You may end up finding odd surprises when you cross two ordinary looking birds. ;)

~Rules~

1. Please be kind, patient, and polite. Realize that I am busy with real life and especially school. I will do my best to check this regularly and post new cross requests and Breeding Stock, but sometimes stuff happens.

2. You are free to keep the art of the baby that was bred from your cross request and even post it in your den! Just make sure to credit me as the artist, and it would be super awesome fi you would provide a link back to this thread. ;)

3. Please only request 1 cross at a time. Wait for your cross to be completed and posted before you send another request.

~Q&A~

1. Oh cool! Do I own the pigeon I crossed or do I have to pay?
--- Nope! It's totally free of charge. As soon as I post your bird he/she is free for you to use. ;) I don't mind getting a tip every now and again though, but you're not obligated to pay a thing!
2. Do Stock birds retire?
--Again, nope! If they are from the stock I post they never "retire". So birds from Stock 1 will be available to bred with birds from any other stock forever!
3. Someone already requested my desired cross.. Does this mean I have to request a different one?
-- Nope! There are many possible outcomes from any given cross, even if the same 2 birds are crossed. So even if someone else has requested the same cross as you, you are welcome to request it again. It is actually recommended that the same pairs be crossed several times in order to "cheat out" the genotypes of the birds. ;)
4. Why is it called pigeon "fancy"? o.O
--What? You don't think pigeons are fancy?! No but seriously.. It's called Pigeon Fancy because people who raise and breed pigeons are called Pigeon Fanciers. I do fancy myself a good pigeon cross, don't you?
