Nichole Potter sighed as she walked into the Dursley's living room, immediately noticing the gross amount of presents that were littered on the floor and couches. Oh ya, today was Dudley's Birthday. Rolling her beautiful brown eyes, she immediately walked into the kitchen and turned the stove on before digging through the cupboards in order to grab a pan. Finding the desired object, she quickly put it on the stove top. She figured that she may as well start breakfast, since Harry had yet to wake up because he always managed to sleep later than her. While she waited for the pan to warm up, she casually leaned against the corner of the counter and thought about what her and her brother would have to do today, absently reaching up one of her hands to stroke a long, fiery red lock of hair. Since today was their cousins birthday, they would have to make him breakfast, clean and put the dishes away, and then they were to go to the zoo, which she was actually quite looking forwards to. She snapped out of her daze when she heard the soft footsteps of their Aunt Petunia coming down the stairs, and she rushed to the fridge in order to pull out the bacon, eggs, and toast, making sure not to drop any of the objects as she hurriedly placed them on the counter. When her Aunt came in, all she did was sneer at her before demanding why breakfast was not yet ready, even though it was still early in the morning. Sighing to herself again, all she responded with was "Sorry Aunt Petunia" before focusing on er task at hand, wondering when Harry would emerge from the little room they shared in the closet under the stairs. Harry shifted closer to Nichole as people began to slowly make their way towards them, a bit intimidated by their awed faces. "Nichole and Harry... Potter?" One witch asked, glancing at Harry's forehead and Nicholes jaw, her eyes widening even more if at all possible. "The children who lived? The chosen ones?" Another asked, also gazing at the lightning shaped scars on the twin's faces. One soul was brave enough to fully approach them, though she was only a few years older than them and shaking terribly as she reached out a trembling, tentative hand, as though to shake Harry and Nichole's. Harry stared at the girl for a few seconds before looking up at Hagrid, who merely nodded encouragingly. Looking back at the girl again, he hesitantly reached out and shook her hand, though managed a weak smile as she grinned broadly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nichole was really curious, but also kind of scared at what was happening. What on earth had they done in order to receive this kind of reaction from people they have never met before? She couldn't remember ever doing anything spectacular. She was forced out of her thoughts when she saw the shaky hand of the girl in front of her, waiting for a handshake. Reaching out her own hand, she hesitantly clasped it with the stranger's, startled by the absolute joy she saw on the girl's face at being able to shake hands with her and her brother. Retracting her hand, she looked up at Hagrid. "I think we should carry on, don't you think?" she asked nervously, wanting to escape all the eyes that were trained on them. Hagrid had looked like she had just torn him from some important thought before he nodded his head in agreement, leading them away from the large crowd of people, much to her relief. Harry watched in curiosity as Hagrid counted out a number of bricks, his expression turning to one of awe as Hagrid tapped the tip of his umbrella against one of the bricks and the wall opened up to reveal a whole street of amazing shops. "Welcome to Daigon Alley. This is where all young wizards come to get their school supplies fer Hogwarts." Hagrid said happily, nodding slightly to a huge building at the end of the alley. "Tha' is Gringotts. It's run by goblins, best creatures to protect gold." "Gold?" Harry asked, his eyes widening as they started walking towards the bank in the distance. All the incredulous stares they were receiving made him uncomfortable, but he tried to ignore them as best as he could. "Aye. Wizardin' currency is set in bronze, silver, and gold. Bronze coins are Knuts, silver are Sickles, and gold are Galleons. There are twenty nine Knuts in a Sickle, and seventeen Sickles in a Galleon. A Galleon is , about five pounds in muggle money I think." Hagrid explained, smiling as he saw the awed look on Harry's face. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nichole was slightly shocked when she listened to the currency here, though she was also getting uncomfortable under all the eyes that were on their little group. You'd think people had better things to do rather than stare at a couple eleven year olds. "Hagrid, why would we need to go to the bank? I man, we haven't any money" she asked, tilting her head to the side as she scooted closer to Harry, grabbing his arm tightly. "Ye don' think yer parents left you wit' nothin', do ya?" Hagrid asked her incredulously, which caused her eyes to widen. Did they really have money? If so, she knew she would have to talk to her brother about keeping that fact hidden from the Dursley's, since there was nothing they wouldn't do to get it from them. 0 players like this post! "We actually have money?" Harry asked, unable to believe what they were being told. "Aye, countless piles of Galleons, waitin' in yer vault to be used. Enough ter live off of comfortably fer a couple years, a' least." Hagrid said as the walked up the steps of Gringotts and entered the bank. "Ain't no safer place than Gringotts. Not one. Except perhaps Hogwarts. Yeh'd be mad ter try an' rob it." Harry took a moment to gaze at the doors, where he found a peculiar inscription. Enter, stranger, but take heed Of what awaits the sin of greed For those who take, but do not earn, Must pay most dearly in their turn. So if you seek beneath our floors A treasure that was never yours, Thief, you have been warned, beware Of finding more than treasure there. He pondered over these words for a moment, shaken from his thoughts when a small creature, presumably a goblin, hobbled up to the and addressed Hagrid. "What do you need today, Hagrid." The goblin asked, the untrusting and greedy gaze that was apparent in all goblins scanning over him. "Withdrawal from vault 687, the Potter's vault first, and then I'm sure Dumbledore informed you of the withdrawal from vault 713." Nichole had followed as the goblin lead them to a certain contraption she had never seen before, clinging on tightly to Harry when it actually started to move. Not wanting to appear weak though, she squared her shoulders as she looked ahead. When they reached the first door, 713, she watched curiously as the goblin ran it's nail down one of the cracks, her eyes widening as the door started moving all on it's own, kind of like the wall that had blocked them from Diagon Alley. Inside, the room was quite small, with only one object that was wrapped tightly in a package in the middle of the room. Before she could get a closer look though, Hagrid snatched it up and put it in his large pocket. "Hogwart's business" he simply said at her curious look, motioning the goblin to continue to their own vault. She put this little incident in the back of her mind, not willing to just forget about it. When they reached vault 687, she held her breath as the door slowly opened, revealing all the piles of gold withing, causing her to gasp in surprise. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"This is all ours?" Harry asked, looking around at the gold incredulously. There had to be thousands of pounds worth of gold in this vault, perhaps much, much more! "Aye. Yeh'll no' need much, a handful or so each, perhaps." Hagrid said with a nod, handing Harry and Nichole each a small pouch for the Galleons they would use for their shopping. He himself couldn't touch anything in the vault, since none of it was his, even if he had every intention to give it to Harry and Nichole. Harry walked forward, remembering the inscription on the wall though, he looked nervous. As he reached out to grab some of the coins littering the vault, however, he was presently surprised when nothing happened, grinning over at Nichole. Nichole had noticed Harry's nervousness, which had struck her as kind of odd, and she made a mental not to ask him about it later. Approaching a pile of shining gold coins, she hesitantly reached out and took a large handful, a part of her waiting to be beaten for touching all these valuable things. When nothing happened, she let out a relieved breath as she placed the galleons into her pouch, then reached out and also added another smaller handful so that the bag was filled. Finished with gathering the coins, she tied up the pouch and walked back to Hagrid, waiting for her brother to finish so that they could go. Harry filled up his bag as well, grinning as he walked back over to his sister and Hagrid, though he wasn't too thrilled then they were back in that deathtrap the goblins called transportation, as was all too happy to finally be out and leaving Gringotts. "Where are we going first?" He asked excitedly as they walked through Diagon Alley once more. "I think we'll get yer robes first. Madam Malkin's is righ' over there." Hagrid said, leading them towards a quaint little shop nearby. "Yeh two go in and get yer robes, I'll go get yer potion ingredients, cauldron and the like; get all the boring things out of the way." Harry nodded, not objecting as it seemed the large man beside him wouldn't have fit in Madam Malkin's anyway. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nichole had followed behind Hagrid as he led them to Madam Malkin's when her attention ad been captured by what seemed to be a pet store, and behind the glass was this stunning Malayan Krait snake that she just couldn't pull her gaze away from. It was beautiful with its sleek black and white scales, elegant head and emerald eyes. She startled when she heard Hagrid's voice telling them to go get their robes, and she reluctantly went into the store, wanting desperately to go to the snake. She didn't really like having to stand still while Madam Malkin took their measurements, tisking as she kept telling them that they were way to skinny and underweight. Well of course they were! They had never had a proper meal in their life, and would sometimes have to go without eating for a couple days. Of course she didn't say this out loud, but she couldn't keep the frustration from her face. She was happy though when she was done and it was Harry's turn. Harry sighed in reluctance as tape measures magically wound around him. All his life he had been told to keep moving, keep working, and now he had to stand still. That didn't seem natural. A few moments after Madam Malkin had started measuring him for his robes, another customer walked in, causing Harry to crane his neck to try and see who was coming in out of curiosity. He was admittedly a bit surprised to see two of the blondest people he'd ever seen walked in. A tall-ish boy with platinum blond hair and eyes of the palest blue walked proudly beside a woman who could have only been him mother. The woman gazed at Nichole at Harry and Nichole, but other than that took no notice of them. "Madam Malkin, I trust you received my husbands letter this morning?" "Of course, of course." Madam Malkin assured, leaving the tape measures to take Harry's measurements as she addressed the newest customers. "I thought Draco was going to Hogwarts this year, I just didn't expect you to wait so long to come get him his robes." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nichole was having a fun time watching her brother having to stay completely still, knowing he would not like it one bit. She had just gone through all that though, so she felt it was only fair for Harry to have to suffer too. She had startled when the door had opened, her brown eyes landing on a blond boy who seemed to be around there own age, with the most amazing blue eyes she had ever seen. The woman who she guessed was his mom was also very beautiful, and she seemed to hold herself in an elegant way. Looking over to her brother, she raised an eyebrow, curious about who this Draco was, but hesitant to approach him. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Step up here Draco and I'll get you started." Madam Malkin said, motioning towards a pedestal next to Harry's... why couldn't she have used that earlier? Draco's mother nodded in approval. "I'll be looking at wands, Draco. Come straight to Ollivander's when you're finished." She instructed. Draco merely nodded, groaning a bit and shoving his mother away as she tried to show him any sort of affection before she left. Stepping up on the pedestal Madam Malkin had directed him to, Draco held out his arms as though he had done this before, glancing at Harry and Nichole. "You two going to Hogwarts as well?" Harry nodded slowly at the boy, unsure of what to think of him. "Yeah, just got our letters yesterday." Draco nodded, also unsure of what to think of the other children as he had been isolated from those his parent's didn't accept from an early age. Nichole watched with bewilderment as Draco shoved his mother away, her liking of the boy dropping a bit. He should cherish all the love his mother bestowed onto him, not be shrugging it off like it was nothing. She would give almost anything to have a mother that loved her, and it was not fair that others took that kind of love for granted. She then cocked her head curiously when he talked about brooms, a racing broom? What on earth were those? "Why would you want a broom?" she asked in confusion, thinking that maybe they would have to clean at this school, and not liking that idea at all, sure she was good at cleaning, but that didn't mean she liked it. She did have a feeling that matybe brooms were not used the way they were at their relative's house, and her eyes widened slightly as she remembered a show she caught Dudley watching once, about witches that were flying on broomsticks. "No." Harry answered instantly, remembering what Hagrid had said about some Pureblood families and something about "Blood Status" and figuring this boy belonged to one of them, which might, might, excuse his actions, though Harry doubted it. Draco looked a bit skeptical about this information but decided the best thing to do at this point would be to change the subject. "Know what house you'll be in?" "No." Harry answered, wondering what in the world the bout was talking about. "Well, no one really knows until they get there, I suppose, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all my family has been - imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave wouldn't you?"
