HHH i tried

i've never drawn a canine before and i've neeeever done crystal-y things before so that was a little rough and i might try to make them more... presentable in the morning whoops. her story is also a bit of a work in progress and will hopefully get a little bit better

ANYWAY That's Neva! She's a cheerful little dog who just so happens to have the ability to manipulate ice and snow. Her mother, a cold and hungry pregnant stray named Maya, darted into an abandoned ski lodge in the middle of a blizzard, because she was about to birth her litter and desperately needed shelter. She had one pup shortly later-- a tiny little girl she named Neva. Maya almost thought her only pup was dead at first, as Neva was born terribly cold and with a bright blue nose. It didn't take long for her to realize she was wrong; despite her abnormalities, her pup squirmed and whined like any healthy pup would. As Neva grew a little older, her powers manifested in other, tinier ways; snowflakes appeared in a tiny cloud as she exhaled, and even the coldest drafts never bothered her.

They made their home there in that resort. Nature had long since taken it back, and Maya could easily find prey. Neva explored while her mother hunted, and that was when she discovered another strange talent: she could see ghosts.

Dogs, cats, squirrels, humans, young and old, you name it, Neva saw it. She delighted in listening to the stories of the old ones, playing hide and seek with the young ones, that sort of thing. They asked for her help, sometimes-- they wanted to try eating, or they wanted to pretend they could hold objects for a little while-- and she happily obliged, eager to please her friends. They doted on her, and Neva's tiny little family got a whole lot bigger. (Maya could never see them, but it never bothered her. She believed her daughter, and the place always felt a little off, anyway)

When she was a year old, Maya went out on a hunt again. Neva stayed behind, trying to clean up the lodge to the best of her abilities. A terrible snowstorm kicked up, and Neva tried not to worry. Her mother could take care of herself, and they were no strangers to snowstorms.

Maya was gone for only a day, and the next time Neva saw her, she drifted in, her face somber, her colors dull. She was now a ghost.

Saddened, but determined to stay strong, Neva decided to permanently take up residence in the lodge to stay with her mother. She now roams the mountainside, looking for strays caught in bad weather so she can save them, the way she thinks she should have saved her mother. Species hardly matters-- she feeds and clothes them all the same. Her guests repay her in favors to the ghosts, with shiny trinkets and stories of far off places.

Why is the story so sad but gOOD? I really love how deep you went into this! Thank you so much for entering Blackmill ^^ I enjoyed reading your story for her!

I'll try. I can't do much in a day sadly, so I'll probably end up losing. (Yay for no self confidence)

But he is a cool character. He could go with my luims as a friend perhaps.
