My old onyx king used to throw Malteses before the genetics got changed. So did my lilacs. My first lilac only ever passed on her base once and then both of them have me nothing but Malteses and dove greys afterwards. Now I have a prune king, and my heir is auburn, along with my current queen and most of my lions. I'm going to try to make an ice bloodline. Hopefully ice isn't as hard to pass as some of the other special bases.

And I think so too! Considering each applicator cost me at least 15gb, the chance to get a cub with all 4 marks for 1gb is cheeeeeeeeap. ;D
As a sidenote, depending on how fast the slots go/how popular he is, I might even raise the price. I don't want to like, charge people a lot, but if people are willing to pay then I could at least try to recoup some costs. *sweats*

Nah, it makes sense. You've spent a lot on him as it is! One point of studding is to earn back what you spent, right? :P Hopefully you make what you spent back before long. ^^ I already studded out my in-heat girls but if any of my slates come into heat in the next few days, I'll see if I can afford to stud to your guy and then hope for the best!

I too redid my king with new icy stuff (even though I swore i was going to keep my slate base...bah).

But what can you do? When a Mottled Rosette cub is born unexpectedly, you just gotta go with it lol.

Now mine isn't nearly as spectacular as Clocks (ohmywow - so much quad o.O), but I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out <3

Ice Base, Ice Crackle, Mottled Rosette and few other special fun markings (omgosh I just LOVE the fiery and ice markings together <3)
