Riley stood still , as she looked over herself in the mirror. She had a mix of white and African American skin, not dark, but a light color making her skin look more like her white father's than her black mother's. Her hair, usually a mess on her head, now hung in loose waves down her shoulders and nearly touching her waist. It was a dark brown color but almost made Riley look like a brunette if the sun touched it just right. Her eyes were a beautiful amber color that she had been told, she had gotten from her grandmother who was no longer living. They were beautiful. Her crooked nose and long eyelashes. She was around 5"5 and normal height for her age of seventeen. Not to mention the beautiful white wings that attached to her back. Not a single feather out of place, her mother had made sure. They all lay flat down against each other.

The dress she had on now had slits in the back along with the rest of theclothes her and her society wore. Made perfectly for the wings they had. They were in the North which made all of their wings varying colorsbfrom grey to white, and Riley happened to have the purest white wings in the society. Not only that, but they were fast.

Riley couldn't count how many times she had just flown through the air, reveling in the feel of the wind against her face. The way her wings always seemed to be able to push and make her go faster than she was already. Riley truly did love them.

Gulping, Riley turned away from the mirror. She was ready. She had to leave because she was not going to be married off to some jerk in another society even if It did benefit her society. She couldn't do it. Riley wanted to marry for love not benefit. And though she hates herself for being a coward, she knew this was something she needed to do.

Stealthily creeping through the house so no one heard her, Riley opened the front door, pushing it before walking through. She felt the cool breeze of the night on her face, the moonlight being her only light But it was enough. She unfurled her wings before jumping and letting them catch in the wind.

Personality: Riley hates being told what to do, and trust doesn't come easy to her. She believes not to trust someone unless they give you a reason to trust them or guilty until proven innocent. She has a sharp tongue and often speaks her mind. She always thinks she is right and isn't afraid of a fight or battle. She is easy to rile up and riles up others as well. Though if you manage to get on her good side, she can be quite soft and nice, but to get on that side is the hardest challenge ever.

Pets: a black fresian Pegasus named Arthur.

Other: she has never really been with people that weren't her family.

Appearance: He's 6 foot tall, and well muscled but not bulging. He's tanned with wavy mocha colored hair and clover green eyes.

Personality: He's strict but caring though he doesn't outwardly show it as much as he should. He's strong and protective, and one of the best hunters in the tribe. He's the pride of the village and his family is well known among other tribes as well.

Siblings: 3 younger brothers, Marcel 16, Warren 13 & Eddie 10

Pets: Serverus, a Golden Eagle

Other: He's skilled at trapping and proficient with weapons. Not a very social person

Just one tiny thing, I was thinking white wings would only be in areas that are really cold with lots of snow. Not necessarily constantly but much of the time it's very cold an snowy. Is that okay or would you like ot be somewhere warmer?

Daniel tied his quiver of arrows to his belt and grabbed his bow. He was going out hunting for the day, His father, the village chief, was looking for a bride for him from a few villages not too far from them and he was to provide the meat to prove he was a good hunter and could provide for a wife and eventually family. He hadn't agreed to anything of the like but he had no choice in the matter to begin with. He'd always been the type to put his duty above what he wanted himself. The tall male stepped onto the porch that served also as a platform for landing and taking off from their homes in the evergreen trees, then spread his cloudy gray wings before taking off into the air and headed out into the forest to hunt. It was one of the few warm days around his home and that was why things were taking place in the next few days before it started to get cold again.

The silence helped Riley think, and she liked it. The moon was a crescent, it's blinding white light showing down on her. The stars twinkling above her, and Riley was really enjoying the view. She used to do this so much as a young girl but had stopped when her responsilities had started to pile up, and she really needed the few hours of sleep that she got at night. She flew for a few hours, feeling the wind against her face, as she stayed at a constant pace, liking the nice rhythm her wings were creating. Her mind began to cloud with all the things she had to deal with. The marriage she was supposed to do but had backed out on. She knew truly that she couldn't do what her parents were asking of her. A sharp sting in Rileys gut stung her, as she began to fall towards the ground. A small squeal left her mouth, as she landed on her ankle, a scream erupting from her mouth. She tried to touch it, but it was tender, earning a groan from her mouth. A sound caught her attention, as she turned to face some bushes wondering what or who was behind it.

Daniel looked around, he'd heard what sounded like a female scream. After a moment of quiet he flew in the direction of the sound and kept a sharp eye out for the source of the sound. After a few minutes he spotted a girl on the ground, seeming in pain, she looked to be in her late teens. He headed over to her, looking for what had made her scream as he did.
