Because who doesn't like the soft, eye pleasing pastel colours? Some of the names are a WIP, so feel free to suggest new ones!  Why the name: Appleflesh! Also it looked more red earlier idk. I would support for river and mango, but I can't support the others, or the thread overall. On my screen, they barely have any color at all, even for being 'pastel,' they just show up as white or a very very very light off-white, or albino/white with very low opacity markings. 0 players like this post! But when the lines and it's shading and highlights are applied over those colors, it washes them out so they lose a lot of that more apparent color, and the ones that already have a lot of white gradient to them are just very faded by the time the lines/shading are applied. That's what I was meaning. Even for being 'pastel' they are almost too light. I'm not saying the colors need to be bright, but there needs to be some compensation there for the shading and highlights so that they aren't just...the faint sniff of a color? BUT, that's just what I think, and I get you were going for that washed out look, it's just very very light for my personal taste, and was just stating why I couldn't really support. cake i think these are a lovely idea. i don't think your rendering of them on the lioness bases are perfect, but the swatches you selected are excellent suggestions and, with a real artists touch, they have the potential to be absolutely fabulous. i hope anyone rejecting the idea based on your rough designs considers the fact that you are not an artist, and that xylax would never just grab the bases you made and slap em on the site. they would be refined and rendered in a way that does the color choices justice. this is merely the prototype, not the final product. i am supporting because they have the potential to look beautiful based on your color selections and because it's a variety that we currently don't have across all the genetic groups :) 0 players like this post! I'll stay neutral on these bases, because they're definitely eye-pleasing, but they're also pretty white-ish overall, and I have a naturals preference to some degree too. (Plus they all look like a bunch of candies, lol). Nice job on them, though. 0 players like this post! Like? |
