Hello! As someone who loves gifting and seeing others happy, I think this suggestion can bring some joy to others!

So some of you might already know what Happy Tree Hour, or for short, HTH. If you don't, I'll explain it a bit!

Happy Tree Hour is something where members throw out nice items into the tree for others to grab. Items are thrown out after the :45 mark of the hour so that they appear on the hour dot, or :00.

Happy Tree Hour has no set schedule. It happens simply when someone decides to start it in chat. For active chatters and lurkers, it's easy to see what HTH is and join in!

However, for those who don't use chat, or simply browse the forums only, they may not know what HTH is or how to join in!

After a discussion in chat, (keep in mind this is being written at 3:30am in the morning) some members thought it would be nice if we can have a set day of the week where Happy Tree Hour notifications are sent out twice a day.

So essentially, two times (of a specific day) will be chosen to send out a notification to users to toss out items for HTH. Now, chat was talking about times, and people in there were thinking 12am and 12pm LD time. This would be for those members who are in a different timezone than LD.

In this sense, Happy Tree Hour wouldn't be only for those who run similar to LD time, but also for those who experience hours of time difference.

After talking it over in chat, some people came to the conclusion that this day should be on Sunday. Nice ending to the week and such!

-Would happen on Sundays
-Notification would be sent out at 11:45 am and 11:45 pm that would state something similar to: "It's time for Happy Tree Hour! If you want to throw out items into the giving tree, now would be the time!"
-Would bring joy to those who don't stay in chat and don't know what Happy Tree Hour is!
-Would have the option to turn it off if you wish to not participate.
-This isn't to say we have to stop chat HTHs. It will just give the entire site the chance to join in!

I like it, for the most part.
However, I think it should be something that you can subscribe and unsubscribe from.
Getting 2 extra messages every sunday might get annoying for some users (I know I can do without).- Valana lll #44616

What if it came up on the screen like the News Post notifications? That way you can click out of them right on the screen without having to interrupt whatever it is you are doing (Shuffle game, wardrobe etc)? Maybe this is just too easy, idk. But for the lazies (I'm guilty of it too) it would help haha.- {Otter's Side} POOP (#56349)

1. I think that HTH should be on a Saturday, because there are more people online, and that gives a chance for the people that might attend Church to also participate. Then everyone would have a chance OR:
2. Maybe do it on Saturday AND Sunday?
3. I don't think it should be just twice a day, because there are some times that people can't be on at any of those times, regardless of where they live. What if we did it every three hours? So, 12, 3, 6, 9 and 12 again, only to do it over again? This way, people that aren't always here have a higher chance of getting a chance to get in on one. If you reaallllyyy wanted to make it fair, you could have it every fifteen minutes, on those hours. SO, Twelve noon, 12:15, :30, :45 and then you'd have to wait until 3:00 for the next time, which would work again, 3:00, :15:, :30, :45, and then 6:00, etc. Understand?- Julzyfox~ [#FoxySis

Now that I think about it, if we can donate to the HTH all week and have it release on Sundays, why not have it every hour on sundays? Split all of the donated objects up into some twelve or twenty four different releases. - Pip #96690

probably should make a spam prevention. i.e, you can't throw out more than 5-10 items on HTH. to prevent junk from coming in constant. i doubt anyone will donate more than that, and there are side accs of course. support - xylla {1 of 60GBs} (#65134)
