WARNING: PICTURES OF CATS WITH MELANOSIS WILL BE SHOWN. LION DISCRETION IS ADVISED.

**Inspired By DressageQueen's Cat**

So I was lurking in the main chat this week and we were talking about cats. Well, the lovely moderator DressageQueen (DQ) showed a picture of her cat with Melanosis, which makes one of her cats eyes splotchy and, in this case, the whole thing black. I was very inspired by this and I thought it would be a cool mutation idea. Unlike the blind mutation, this mutation would only cause one eye to not be able to see. And, a benefit of this mutation is the lions can actually SEE something. Cats with Melanosis tend to live long lives just as a normal cat would. And since lions are apart of the big cat species, it kinda just connected the idea of the Melanosis mutation. Here's just some examples:

Soo as you can see Iris Melanosis occurs during age. Soo I thought there would be 3 stages (4 if you have the 2 extra cub stages) where during cub there's a lil bit of brown/black. During adol stage it's half/almost fully covered. And during adult stage it's fully black. And this would happen on the right eye. (Or if it would be like hetero where it could happen on either eye)
Or maybe it doesn't show during cub stage, Only during adol and adult stage so it would be easier on the artists. (Suggested by #90413)
Another thing would be a hunting disadvantage. When a cub is born with Iris Melanosis it has lower starting agility. (Suggested by #6036)

I've spent lots of time on this and I'd appreciate your support and any comments. ^^

UPDATE!

The mutation Iris Melanosis mutation has been picked to be in the next admin discussion meeting! Let's just hope they like the idea :)

ANOTHER UPDATE

Cin (#106573) has made a beautiful idea of what Iris Melanosis eyes would look like ^^

Ok, lil feedback: since the newborn stage has its eyes closed, there is no need for it to have an art, ya know?
But otherwise,

(And, omg, if this mutie were posable?? I'd be in love!!)

OMG YES PLEASE ADD IT!!! I love this idea, lol.

It's well thought out and beautiful. Also, we need more eye mutations like Blind but different variations, if that makes sense. So this is perfect. ♥

I support fully!

Also one thing, I think two of my cats have this?
Both have hazel eyes and they formed a year after we got them (we didn't get them together, we got them yearss apart).
They haven't grown much since, but the brown spot appeared on both of the cat's eyes, but only on the right eye (they aren't related).
What do you guys think?
I can't provide pictures rn, I'm using a computer that isn't mine.
