I just had a terrible thought.

What if... they increased the prices of the Buffalo Scrotums because currency will be easier to get?

They mentioned coding an event-specific minigame in the stuck August Newspost -

There is a Minigame being made for the event. It will be August-exclusive! We will announce it when it's added and we might make it part of the bar's unlock!

What if one of the prizes for that minigame, are currency? What if thats why they've raised the prices because in actual fact, the minigame would make Dry Bones easier to obtain for both casual and hardcore players?

They could've, but the admin team is stretched thin - I believe two of our coders are moving, so that takes away from the game and explains all the art updates. Admittedly, a quick two-three sentence news post wouldn't have hurt, but from what I hear - I'm hoping the admins will post today.

But what we've gotten at best is that they know communication should have been done better and at worst basically told this is for the economy in a way that basically says there's more out there for more players. If that's the case it shouldn't be said that way. I'd never assume anything good from anything I've read.

If they aren't sending them out and they don't know what's going on for sure they shouldn't be saying that also. In case come to find out they were just doing this on their own. I've seen people try to damage control without all the info and it tends to make it worse.

Not that I don't get wanting to defend something, I'm just saying people see mod's word as absolute. It's why there's a screening process, it's a responsibility, and while I get initial reaction it's been repeated so much it went beyond the automatic reaction point. Mods are people and allowed to be people, make mistakes, etc. I'm not trying to say otherwise to be clear.

Hey so, not to distract, I do think this is kind of related.

I have no idea if its the hype, or my imagination, but for the first 10 or 11 days of august I was able to get to 550 something bones alright. Yeah, I had to hug my computer when I wasn't working, but I was able to. But now in explore, after using a constant stream of 100% bars of energy for three days, I am only up to 587. Not trying to stir the pot, it could be super bad luck- but is anyone else having a problem where before it was whatever, but now its really hard to get bones?

I don't know if this was a grab at player's wallets or what, but if it was then they miscalculated. Not gonna spend a single dollar on buying gb now.

My luck has been so mixed this whole time to be fair. As I've repeated many a time I can get anywhere from 0-20+ per full bar. If you get stuck in a low rut you're going to feel like they nerfed it. That's randomly been my luck some days since the start.

Not saying that it hasn't been nerfed for sure by the way, just that my personal experience doesn't reflect that so much as RNG is way to big a factor in this.

I don't normally comment on non-sales posts, but I just gotta toss my hat in and support too.

I've only been on LD for a few months, but I've been interested in joining for years. It's clearly the animal/pet browser game with the most potential in my eyes. That being said, the lack of transparency has been incredibly alarming and disheartening. And while I want to give the administration the benefit of the doubt considering all of the hard work they do, this does look like a cash grab from where I'm sitting.

I've bought 20-30 dollars worth of GB every month I've been here, but unfortunately, like several others, I'm no longer interested in investing real world currency into a game that caters to very few players and isn't clear and upfront about what's going on. I get that LD is still technically in beta and that staff is stretched thin. But until communication gets better and player concerns are treated as important, I'm going to be holding off on giving more monetary support.
