Lioden has updated Fire Escape to remove some of the parallax scrolling (huzzah!) so I'm sure they'll do it for March's Poacher Chase also when the time comes! So this is about the 'Poacher Chase' and it's sister 'Fire Escape'. I don't think this was really a problem with the 'Fire Escape' version (but since it's not available right now I can't really compare) but with the current 'Poacher Chase' game I, and a couple of friends, are experiencing headaches, nausea, and dizziness after finishing the game regardless of how long we're able to play it. I think the reason this wasn't such a problem in the 'Fire Escape' game since, if I remember correctly xD, the background in that one was overall black/red with the objects being the tan/brown with a more noticeable glow. After playing it again with all the suggestions in mind I've realized it's not really the lack of noticeability in the obstacles but rather the parallax of the game. The multiple elements of the foreground and background that move at different speeds are causing some people to experience headaches/vertigo/dizziness/sickness/etc after the 1k mark. Though none of the effects so far are long lasting they're still not great! A possible way to fix this could be just to have a static image for both the foreground and background, so the only thing moving in the game would be the lion and the obstacles it jumps over. This wouldn't affect gameplay as things will still speed up as you progress and the jumping over obstacles mechanic won't change at all. Another suggestion would be instead of having all parallaxing stop, have less! Such as maybe JUST ONE foreground, the area the lion runs on, and background element instead of the current 2 elements of foreground, the ground the lion runs on, and 4 elements in the background all moving at different speeds at the same time (I don't think those numbers are accurate but you get the point XD) I know not everyone is experiencing these side-effects so I'm not suggesting to change the entire game this way, but instead have an option to toggle the parallax on or off before you start the game! And maybe have it remember your settings so if you die and want to restart you don't have to choose it every time. Let me know what you guys think about this game and the suggestion of the change! I'd love to hear from both supporters and nonsupporters! <3 |

Hey hey! I understand that it's not making EVERYONE sick, but the fact is some people ARE getting sick from it (even if it's just for a short amount of time) and I think that's still worth talking about! Especially if the fix, as suggested above, is as simple as making the glow larger or adjusting a few colors. Even if the game didn't offer event currency I'd still make a post about it XD I mean, games shouldn't make people sick. It would be one thing if it was just one person (ie. me) complaining about it but looking at the 80+ support this has gotten it looks like this effects more people than it probably should! I'm just posting this to hopefully clear up anything that wasn't expressed clearly enough in my original post 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's part of the event and offers currency. I don't see why we have to get this screen or change this brightness or do back flips to play the game like others. Many people have mild symptoms and some can't even play at all(like myself). If it can be fixed, it would be good for everyone. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I never suffered from motion sickness and I was super dizzy at the end of my round of Poacher Chase! It didn't feel this way in Fire Escape. I hope they can fix it! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support this fully, after getting to like 40 in poacher chase I couldn't focus on the screen and was very dizzy which lasted a good 20 minutes after and I've had a sharp pain above my left eye like an hour >_< the game does quicken up and the objects blur in a lot and makes it terribly hard to focus on 0 players like this post! This was suggested for Fire Escape. Many people experienced sickness from it (including me, I could barely play it without getting extremely dizzy). 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ah yeah! I just found that it looks like it didn't get too much talk though ;o; so hopefully this will help with the Fire Escape version as well! 0 players like this post! Like? |

A toggle to turn off the background I could support to help people who are having issues. I am against slowing the game down however. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Agreed! I think it has less to do with speed and more about the visibility of the objects and how many things are moving all at once, which would be causing the eye strain and dizziness. 0 players like this post! Like? |

My issue seems to be the foreground movement. I can ignore the background for the most part, but with everything else moving at different speeds... 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think the beetles and jumps scrolling at different speeds is a requirement. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The beetles and jumps are fine, and I definitely don't think those should be slowed. The whole point of the game is that it gets faster. For me, I think that it's that the three sections moving right-to-left are at three different speeds. The midground (jumps and beetles) doesn't bother me, but when my eyes try to track the foreground and also focus on when the lion should jump... it kinda feels like sinus congestion. 0 players like this post!
