The small blind liger cub had not been able to get enough of the meeting, although he could not see them, Aldrid was sure everyone had looked at them. It had felt like he was the king, presiding over his own pride. Aldrid had fought a bit, when he was taken down from the rock, he wanted to stay up there! He wanted to be a king!
He knew that he would never be able to fight his mother off, so after a while he just gave up. Pounding his steps, Aldrid muttered as he walked ahead of Light. He sat down next to Turtle and was just about to talk with him excitedly about the meeting, when Light grabbed him and very unceremoniously started to groom his strawberry fur. "Mother!", Aldrid complained, "I can groom myself", as he was talking, the young liger cub tries to get out of his mother's clutches, but it was not to be.

SunStar looked towards the entrance, as he noticed the small shape of his deputy coming back inside. He must've gone out for some hunting, the prey had started to run very well again with the warmer weather. His silver eyes looked over towards the nursery, as he noticed Light bring in the cubs. SunStar smirked, some were not too happy while others looked to already be asleep.
As he watched Nik walking into the nursery, a thought came to the king's mind. Getting to his paws, SunStar trudged over to the nursery. Poking his head in, he smiled at seeing Light groom the cubs. "Nik, can I speak with you for a moment!", the king called, turning around and waiting for the cub just outside of the somewhat overflowing den.

A smile crossed the kings face, at seeing Nik yawn. "I won't keep you long. I only wished to ask you something", SunStar paused to make sure he had the cubs full attention. "You are already 7 Moons Old, one moon older than a cub is usually made an apprentice. You have always been a bit sick and that is why I have held you back, you do seem to have gotten better now. So my question is, do you wish to become an apprentice?", SunStar said all of this nic and slow, so that he would not be over running the cub with all his talking. Waiting for the young cats answer, SunStar let out a sigh. Was it just him, or did they have a problems with their young cats?
First it was Aldred, who turned out to be blind, then it was discovered Lekahn had died. Next a MoonPride cub suddenly appeared, and now the king had to ask a cub if he wanted to become an apprentice. Normally cubs would nag every single day, if they could become apprentices.

Sun gave the young cat a nod, "I understand, don't worry", getting up the white lion nodded towards the entrance of the nursery. "You should get some sleep", the leader said, gently nudging Nik's side he added, "You know, I would not have asked you, if I did not think that you were ready. Just something to keep in mind", SunStar said. Seeing the tom inside, the king soon followed.
He walked over to Light's side, he missed not having her sleeping next to him. Letting out a sigh, the king nuzzled the head queen. He looked down at his sons and daughter, when they became apprentices, SunStar and his mate would be able to sleep in the same den again. When they were apprentices......, If they all became apprentices? SunStar thought as his silver eyes fell on Aldrid. "I love you dear, have a good night", the king said, giving his mate a kiss. Looking down at his cubs he added, "Don't annoy your mother too much, alright?" The king a smirk on his face and prodded Sunlight, the little tom was always such a firecracker.
Turning on the spot, so that he wouldn't accidentally step on any cubs, the king headed outside. Walking towards his own den, the king gave his pelt a shake. Reaching the large cave, SunStar's eyes darkened. Several pride members where still in the clearing, they were mourning the apprentices passing. Spotting Umbra, SunStars heart went out to the guard. Letting out a sigh, the king walked over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a rabbit. Turning, the white lion headed for his den.
Laying his back side inside of his den, SunStar laid the peace of pray between his paws. Facing the other cats, the king let out a sigh. He pulled at the rabbit, the meat was tasteless. To be honest, the lion only ate to still his growling stomach. Great StarPride give him strength, SunPride only had two apprentices now. It would be quite a few moons before the other cubs would be apprentice aged, the pride needed apprentices. A smirk came to the king's face, the MoonPride cub seemed to be around the right age. Nik seemed fond of her and SunPide needed more cats around that age, SunStar was not seriously considering it though. He sniggered, as he imaged Moon's face. Whenever he would meet the large lion he seemed to be in a bad mood, well Sun neaver helped his case. He would somehow always try to rile the larger lion up, it was always little things; like telling him his mane was disheveled or how his mane was pink.
Sun felt bad, as he almost started laughing out loud. SunStar looked down at his pray, taking a few bits it had some taste now again.

The white lion looked up from his rabbit, as he heard the slight pitter patter of small paws coming towards him. A light growl came out of the male lions throut, "Sunlight, you should be in bed", the father said. The white lion let out a sigh, at his sons words. Moving his pray to the side, SunStar beckoned his son to lay between his fore paws.
"Now...", SunStar started, repositioning himself so he could look the cub in the eyes, he asked, "What is your question?"

Sun stared at his son for a heartbeat, the white lion then broke into a laugh. Reaching forward he nuzzled Sunlight, still smiling. Giving his son an afectentet lick on the head, SunStar said, "No my boy, I won't be leaving and going to StarPride." His kind sliver eyes looking into the deep blue of his sons, the father let out a sigh. He did not know what he was expecting, but that was definitely not it. "StarPride renamed me SunStar, so that everyone would know that I am the king of this pride", SunStar explained patiently. With a glint in his eyes, the white lion added, "Do you remember how I told, that humans believe that cats have nine lives? Well, thanks to StarPrides blessing, I now have nine lives."
Sun placed his head next to Sunlight, he found it cute how his little son was so worried about something like that. "So there's no need to worry about me, little one", SunStar said, "But thank you for worrying about me", the king added. It was nice that the young cub had a good pride mentality, maybe they should teach the cubs tomorrow about the pride code. It would be a good time, they could probably round the cubs up in the healers den. Maybe they could take the opportunity and show the cubs, the cave paintings as well.

The white lion purred softly, as he saw the small liger falling asleep. He waited for Sunlight to fall asleep, hearing the small cub mutter his love, SunStar said, "I love you too, my boy." He gave the cubs shoulder a gentle lick, just to make sure that Sunlight was actually asleep.
Getting up, the lion made sure not to wake up the small cub asleep between his paws. Looking down, Sun smiled. Leaning down, the father gentle picked up Sunlight by the scruff of his neck. Making sure the cub did not swing too much, SunStar started to slowly walk towards the nursery. Shouldering his way in, the smalish lion king tiptoed his way through the nursery. He was not keen on waking up the cubs, if he did wake any, Sun would probably get a good yelling at from the queens.
Reaching Lights nest, the king carefully laid Sunlight in between Aldrid and Cloud. Glad that none of the cubs woke up, Sun let out a sigh and sat back. Giving his mate a kiss, the king headed out again. Outside, SunStar still had a chuckle. 'Cubs', SunStar thought. He wondered if he was ever like that, the king started walking towards his den again.
