Gather ‘round my kits, and listen to the Tale of the Four Clans. Once, there was no harmony in the forest. Four clans fought over territory, food, and water, and StarClan felt dismayed at how much the cats suffered divided. They sent a sign to the medicine cats: after meeting at the Moonstone, they saw an imprint of a maple leaf into stone. The leaf that had once formed this imprint was rotting away in four pieces, one clan for each point. The medicine cats understood this message and relayed the divine message to their leaders, who would not be convinced. But one stormy night when clouds blocked out the stars, StarClan sent a bolt of lighting to split a hole in the side of the great rock that stood in the center of Four Trees. The bolt fashioned a cave, the same size as one a clan leader might live in, the symbols of each clan carved around the entrance. All of the clans heard the fantastic crash and came running to the clearing to see the source of the sound. (Psst. Guess what? Here's a spoiler for you. The ones with eyes may not see, but the ones with tails have fear. Beware of the broken path).They beheld the split and still smoking boulder. The four medicine cats each interpreted this as a sign that the clans had to band together as one, settling their differences and living in harmony. So you see little kittens, StarClan watches over us, reminding us to embrace each other’s differences. Each cat may look different or like different things, but there is no reason to fight battles over such diversities.

* Overpowered characters and powerplaying are not allowed. Characters should have clear strengths and weaknesses, and their strengths cannot be too extreme. If Firestar cannot defeat your warrior in battle, your warrior is too powerful. If your medicine cat knows more than Leafpool has known in her entire life, then your medicine cat is too knowledgeable. In addition, your cat may not be so weak or helpless that the whole RP focuses on helping them.
* No killing or permanently injuring another player’s cat without permission.
* Currently, the maximum number of cats per player is 2. We’ve allowed more in the past, but in this RP we’d like to focus on character building. Usually more than 3 characters can be very time consuming, and not have as much effort put into the characters.
* If you intend on having a mate, please be sure to consult the other player first, and PM a moderator about future kits.
* Queens can only have kits every two moons (two real-life months).
* Please refer to the The Warrior Code for rules within the in-character roleplaying (Please remember that there may be slight changes due to the nature of this RP).
* Moderators and clan admins have all the power when it comes to rules. If you are caught breaking them, you could be removed from the roleplay and never be able to join again.
* Here is a list of prefixes and suffixes for cat names! In addition, please don’t use any names of canon characters. You can find the list of names here.
* Rated PG. Mating and mature subjects must fade to black or be taken off site.
* Be sure to add your cat to the character sheet/sign-ups listed here.
* Site rules apply. Be a good kitty. Always.
* Contact a moderator if you must take a leave of absence. After 15 days of inactivity without contacting a moderator, your character will be removed from the role play. If you PMed a moderator about an extended absence, you are fine!
* Mods may take up to a few days to get to your application. We will send you a PM if you're accepted. * If you’re impatient, check the spreadsheet to see if you’re already on there.
* You got it! Since you're reading the rules, please write your favorite movie in the "Other" section on your sign up form along with any other info you wish to add.
* If you have any questions or ideas about the rules or events in the role play or know a player is breaking one of these rules, please contact the moderators. Please do not try to handle a rulebreak by yourself.
* Players who do not end up reading the rules may not get their application accepted. Be sure you read through everything in case there are any clues you need to put in your sign up form!
* Based on actions you take in the roleplay, you can gain/lose reputation with your clan mates and the clan in general.
* Posts must be 5+ lines. Get involved!
* If you are taking a short break, do not kill your character. It's a hassle for the mods and is stressful for everyone else. If you are going for more than 15 days just let an admin know and your character will be fine.
* When your character has been added and you haven't responded within a week of being added, admins will remove your character from the RP. If you've given a reason for being inactive, your character will not be removed.
*Warriors can become queens once they develop a relationship and decide to have kits. Until then, the only queens are NPCs!
*The first litter of kits have been born! They can be claimed by the oldest members of the RP, and if no one wants them you can apply as a kit from a new litter! PM for details!
*It is now required to add the image of your cat to your post every time you reply. Image posting help is on the main RP thread!

Clan life was like any other, hunting and border patrols, injuries, and the training of apprentices. At one point, there was an incident with a rogue who harmed an apprentice, Vixenpaw, who later died from her wounds. Tensions were high for awhile as they sought what to do about this rogue, though as things started to settle down once more, Starclan had something brewing that would eventually come to affect the clan cats in the forest below. The weather took a turn and soon a storm raged on, causing numerous lightning strikes around the forest. Unfortunately, there were a few cats who were injured due to these strikes, severely injuring them. Once the rain stopped, the lightning strikes continued to happen and eventually, one happened in the camp and started a fire. The clan cats had to evacuate from the old camp and settled along the river, making it a temporary camp until they could rebuild their original camp once more. During their stay along the river, Sunstar received a dream from Starclan, telling him of the threat of the Dark Forest preparing to take over Starclan. Shortly after he had given his announcement, all of the high ranking cats(leaders, deputies, and medicine cats) fell into a deep slumber, waking up in Starclan. They were brought up to help defend Starclan against their battle with the Dark Forest. During the battle, both co-medicine cat, Horsetail, and co-deputy, Hollowfall, were killed. However, Horsetail was resurrected and returned back to his body back in the forest. In the end, the Dark Forest ended up winning the battle in Starclan, sealing the deal after Thistlestar stopped from his son, Sunstar, from killing Brokenbone, claiming the Dark Forest cat as his mate. While the high ranks were locked in battle in Starclan, the clan cats had Lioncloud and Earthquake serve as their temporary leaders and Clearsong and Honeyfrost as temporary deputies.
They all tried to get by while the high ranks were away until they had a dog problem occur, injuring a few, but the cats managed to kill the dogs they could. Little did they know, another threat was lurking close by named Glade, disguising himself as a friend to them. While talking with Lioncloud, the rogue killed the temporary leader and claimed it was a dog when the deceased tom was discovered. Over time, Glade established himself as the new clan leader, injuring and starving those of the clan when he felt like it. However, the high ranks have woken up, no memory of their battle in Starclan and yet to see side effects of being away from their physical bodies for so long.
