Fuvu nudged Uzuri gently, hoping that her mother was just sleeping. Uzuri didn't respond, however.

Soul glanced at Cass, "Fuvu, Mifupa, come here." She murmured soothingly, and laid down so they could share her warmth.

Ibilisi walked through the tall grass, heading towards the source of the strong hyena smell, hoping to find Sabra and join her. "Loki!" She called over her shoulder, looking to see if the primal had caught up.

Muovu licked her muzzle that was wet with Majizu's blood. Kasim...Kasim...come find Majizu... Muovu thought. Majizu moaned in pain as she lay on the ground, her wounds bleeding heavily and her legs broken.

"What are we waiting for?! Uzuri could be dying - dead, even - as we speak!" Anima hissed.

meanwhile, far enough outside of the pride's territory where other lions can smell lions but not see them

"How much longer are we going to walk?" Funf snarled miserably at Zwei. Did he have to do that all the time?
"We still have some time to go before sunset," Drei replied, exhausted. They'd walked for a long time already, but they couldn't stop now! Today was the day, and Zwei could feel it!
"C-can - e-er, w-why do we h-have to find m-more lions?" Eins stammered, fear clouding in his gaze. "W-we can m-make it o-on our own, r-right?"
"I agree with the nerveball," Funf growled. "We know how to fend for our fucking selves. We can fight, and hunt, and do everything a normal lion can do, no problem!"
"Actually, yes problem," Drei interrupted. "We're not fully-grown lions."
"Stop being such a smartass!" Funf hissed.
"Are you criminalizing me - no, not even that, just plain accusing me of being a smartass?" Drei scoffed, turning away. Zwei trembled at the word 'criminalizing.'
"FUCK YOU!"
"C-can we all p-please just stop f-fighting?!" Eins whimpered.
"Everyone, shut the fuck up," Zwei ordered. She was going to get her brothers under control. Suddenly, a scent hit her nose. It smelled like their mother, but... different. Could it be? She took one good, long sniff. "Do you smell that?!" she asked. "It smells like other lions!"
Drei paused for a moment, then replied, "I smell it, too! Zwei's assumption that we would locate a pride was correct!"
"Finally, we can stop it with the fucking walking," Funf growled.
"F-fine. I g-guess we can join a p-pride," Eins sighed.
"Great! Now, let's go!" Zwei called as she ran ahead.

Willow padded back to the camp in an attempt to find a queen, but instead noticed commotion in the healer den and something running towards the camp.
If it's another hyena, it's dead!
As the thing came closer, Willow saw that it was an older-looking cub, trailed by three more cubs of what seemed to be about the same age. She slowly padded towards the four figures and could slowly begin to make out their voices.
"Slow down!" one of them yowled.
"Can it. Don't try and stop her," another one panted. Moments later, Willow felt something bump into her leg, almost knocking her off balance.
"Now look what you've done!" a small spotted cub reprimanded the white, reddish and black cub that had run into her leg. Not a hyena.
The cub rubbed its forehead with its paw and then looked up at Willow, amazement flooding its eyes. "Are you a pride lion?" the now identifiably female asked curiously.
"Of course," Willow answered.
"HOLYSHITI'VEHEARDSOMUCHABOUTPRIDESANDMEANDMYBROTHERSHAVEALWAYSWANTEDTOJOINONEANDCANWEJOINYOURPRIDEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASE???" The cub was quivering with excitement from ear to tail, getting a bit too close to Willow.
"Well, you all need to pass a test first," Willow lied. "First, can you all handle death of your friends?"
"Of course!" the she-cub replied enthusiastically.
"U-um, y-yeah," a cub with a v-shaped marking on his chest spoke up.
"I'm able to handle the concept of death quite excellently-"
"STOP IT WITH THE LONG WORDS!" the she-cub interrupted. Great. This cub was bossy.
"Sorry, quite WELL. However, our other brother took our sister's death quite poorly." Great. This cub was more of a smartass than Jez.
"Shut the fuck up!" the spotted cub snarled, aiming a smack at his brother's face but missing. Great. This cub swore.
"No language like that is permitted in the nursery," Willow growled.
"What about damn?"
"Nope."
"Can I at least say crap?!"
"No way."
"Fine."
The other cub continued to be quiet, fidgeting nervously.
"Now, what are your names?" Willow questioned.
"I'm Zwei, my older brother is Eins, and my younger brothers are Drei and Funf," Zwei answered.
:"Alright, I'll see if I can arrange something." That 'something' was that she was gonna find Shujaa and get him to let these cubs into the pride, explain the situation she was in and get her cubs to safety. Then, she'd go back to the Clan. "Meanwhile, why don't you go to the nursery? It's that den right over there. You can introduce yourselves to some of the other cubs there."
"Alright. Let's go," Drei mewed.
"Race ya!" Zwei added, running ahead, Funf and Drei following her,
Willow noticed that Eins stayed where he was. "Want to come check out the healers' den with me?"
"A-alright." This cub reminded Willow of Anima, but without the ability to let her feel. She would like him, if Anima was around.
"Follow me."
She led Eins to the healers' den, but her jaw dropped at what she saw and Eins began trembling at her side.

Ibilisi spotted the shape of a lioness standing on a tall rock, hyenas yapping below her. She padded towards Sabra, and then sat down, waiting for Sabra to notice her.

Soul gathered Uzuri's cubs towards her, and blocked their view so they couldn't see that their mother had died. Mkali looked down at her paws, and whispered, "I'm sorry...I couldn't save her..." Soul sighed, "It's not your fault, Mkali..."

Muovu became impatient. She decided she would make Majizu yowl or scream or make some loud noise to attract Kasim faster. She ripped out some of Majizu's fur, but Majizu didn't shriek in pain. Muovu's gaze traveled to Majizu's face, and she laughed, her voice scaring away a few birds in the trees. She walked over to Majizu, then growled, "...Mother." She spat, and paced around Majizu. "M...Muovu..." Majizu groaned. Muovu laughed again, then smacked Majizu square on the jaws, Majizu screamed in pain as she was blinded by Muovu and her jaw broke with a loud snap. "...Kasim..!" She gasped, pain blazing like fire in her jaws. "Oh...your Kasim, or should I say, my father won't help you now...He's left you already..." Muovu snickered.

Kasim stopped suddenly in his steps as he heard a familiar yowl. His ears perked up as he sniffed the air. He suddenly heard his named being screamed and before he could even think his heart reacted. It started beating fast as he ran towards the sound. He knew that voice, there was no mistaking it ever. Majizu was in danger. The thought made him run even faster. As he got closer he spotted a very familiar coat. Worry turned into rage as the image of his daughter was replaced by his father. He lunged out of the thickets and rammed into Muovu. I am going to kill you again." He growled as he charged at her again.

Muovu laughed as Kasim finally appeared and bowled her over. She clawed against Kasim, slipping out of his grip. Muovu was still young, she lacks strength but exceeds in agility. Majizu tried to stand up and help but she was blinded and broken, and she fell to the ground.

Soul decided to go for a walk again. Her wounds were still sore from the earlier encounter with the hyenas, but they have nearly healed. She wandered deeper into the pride's territory, away from camp. Suddenly, rustles in the bushes alerted her. She whirled around to see a two tailed lionesses glaring at her with bared teeth. Soul hissed, "Who are you? What do you want?" Mbili stepped out of the bushes to face the pride lioness. Mbili didn't answer, instead, she went straight for Soul's neck. Soul yowled and tried to throw Mbili back, but failed. Excited hyena yips sounded around them. Hyenas?! Oh no... Soul thought, panicking. Mbili bit down on Soul's back, hitting her spine. Crack! Mbili had broken Soul's spine. Soul screeched in pain, dragging her hind legs behind her, and tried to crawl away from Mbili. Mbili grinned, exposing her bloodied teeth. As quickly as she had appeared, Mbili turned and disappeared into the undergrowth with the hyenas. Soul gritted her teeth and started to drag herself back to camp.

Soul finally reached camp. She collapsed at the entrance, gasping for air. "Soul!" Mkali cried, "What happened?" "Got attacked...lioness...hyenas...can't feel...back legs..." Soul explained between shuddering breaths. Mkali didn't say anything, instead grabbed Soul by the scruff and dragged her into the healers den. She didn't look at Cass to explain what happened to Soul. She started poking Soul to see if she could feel at her hind legs. Soul couldn't feel anything at her hind legs... "I'm sorry, Soul, but you won't be able to use your hind legs anymore. Your spine is broken." Soul nodded mutely, as if she had seen it coming. Soul managed to glance at Uzuri's body. She bit her tongue but said nothing.

(Soul is paralyzed at her hind legs now)

Muovu growled, and faced Kasim once again. "Oh, hello, father." Muovu was clearly mocking Kasim. Muovu's pelt was criss crossed with scratches, but she didn't seem to feel them at all.
