OH MY GOSH YES. I know the game very well. My guys like to play that when they either don't want to go outside, or don't want to come inside. Also when they escape. Like today my father's Lab mix and one of my Great pyr mix got out today, I had to chase them all the way down the private gravel/pebble road barefoot. They DID NOT want to go back home. At one point they were running back home, but then saw me and ran the other way. I was livid.

Yup. Yeti would do that as well. There's been more than once instance I've ran barefoot out on the road myself to get him. And the road is made with gravel or something in the asphalt(?) so it's basically running on sharp rocks as you probably know. I've, thankfully, never cut myself while doing this but it's still painful. Also calling to him hasn't worked well in the past because he was so into what he was doing.

OMG that's EXACTLY what I was running on. I just don't know what to call it? It's basically a poorly paved road with pebbles, rocks, and potholes. My feet went numb when I finally got them back home. I ran, and walked, on that road for a good 15-20 minutes, barefoot. TBH they still hurt when I stand up and walk around. ๐Ÿ˜‚. But no cuts. Anyway, Yeah that's the deaf ear I was telling you about. They hear you, they just don't care. I call them because I do have a lot of neighbors, and I don't want them thinking nobody is out trying to catch them. Only way I can catch them, is if I get their attention and sit on the ground. They think I'm dying and come racing to my rescue. Which I then snag their collars and drag them home. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. 99% of the time it works. But you HAVE to grab their attention, via shouting or if they're trying to run past you. You may want to try it in your yard sometime? just to test it out so you know if it works next time he gets out. I swear it's saved my dogs lives more than once. I have trigger happy neighbors. :/

Ah exactly! I don't know the name and no searches online have helped. Yeah same expierence with my own feet, but it was thankfully not that long! Only about five minutes, ten tops. Oh that's

Speaking of which, guess who somehow got out this morning? Penny. Apparently she was pacing the ditch in front of our house and our neighbor across the street. who we actually have yet to properly meet, say her. He laid down and the two are apparently best friends now. With your story(and as you suggested) and the incident today, that'll have to be something we'll test out.

We, luckily, don't have neighbors like that but a few years before we moved to our current home our neighbors neighbor shot their dog. She was attacking their chickens, but he shot the dog, she was still alive and had to get herself back to the house. It sounded like an awful situation. They guy's gone now and new owners moved it but it still hurt them.

Oof yeah, but in the neighbor's defense, if a dog is attacking a human or livestock, it's in their right to shoot it. I've been down this road with animal control. My next door neighbor's wife literally called animal control almost every week. It got to the point where she's blacklisted at AC.

I wonder if we can crack the code to catching loose Great Pyr's ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

This is Fiona, one of my Great Pyr mixes, It's an old photo though. Taken little over a year ago, when hurricane Irma hit Florida. My dad, grandmother, and I took three of the dogs and booked it to North Carolina. The rest of the dogs my bestie took and watched over until we got back.

Forum thread has been active! So I'm here for the revive!

Favorite quotes or moments across the Harry Potter book series??

I have a whole bunch, but some of my top favorites are some of the gifts that Dobby gives to Harry. The Christmas baubles hanging in the room of requirement, the portrait he painted, and the mismatched, hand knitted socks. So good. <3
