haha ik this is VERY far out there, but idk maybe it would be cool as a mutation? (could be a base also tbh)

anyway, I was thinking it would be a very very rare mutation that would only show up on certain events ie: Celestial and Oct events. Also, it could give players who are not interested in hybrids/don't have one to try for something else that is equally as rare!

Bioluminescence is some pretty cool stuff, it's apparently evolved over 40 different times throughout its history, which is neat. Essentially it allows marine life (jellyfish, bacteria, starfish, etc) and some terrestrial life (fireflies and some fungi) to actually light themselves up. The ability to do this all bioluminescent organisms use a reaction between an enzyme and a substrate to make light!

So how would this work in Lioden? (First I know this is sooo unrealistic, but we've got blue lions friends the horse has left the barn years ago lol) I was thinking that your lioness (or lion) could accidentally eat some "pretty" fungi or fireflies and by some science magic, there's a chance for their offspring to somehow inherit the bioluminescent gene.

The mutation itself would be subtle I'm thinking? I mean if someone would like to do a mock up that would be cool haha

Celestial event: Your lioness/you happen to wander into a thick patch of fireflies. Your lioness/you can barely see past the swarm of shiny bugs and you happen to accidentally ingest a some, now your lioness/you feel tingly.

Oct event: Your lioness/you suddenly find themselves very lost in a dark forest that is crawling with creatures of the night. The fur on your neck rises in fear when you feel a puff of breath on your nose. Suddenly a lion lights up in front of you, he tells you he knows the way out.
--He leads you out of the forest and leaves or offers you a gift, some brightly colored mushroom that you can eat.

*This is what I was thinking the mutation could look like on lions! Very subtle!*

i must point out we have genetically modified house cats that glow in the dark.... because scientist decided to give them bio-lum, so full support here, maybe only see the mutation at night?

Animals that are genetically modified to glow only glow under UV light, not just in plain darkness. But who's to say there isn't a mad scientist loose in the savannah with blacklights lighting up his camp? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Our lions could glow while they're with him under those

maybe something similar to the april fools green app, but a halloween exclusive MOD? or a veryyy slim chance of it cropping up the gmo cows (i think the idea of a whole new gmo item just for one mutation would be kinda excessive... maybe if the gmo pig gives a chance only for the super rare mutations? lethals, this, hybrids, etc?). as for passing, maybe somewhere around 1% chance to pass, per parent? and then the lion balls item ofc.

i think this could be implemented in a very cool way, but it'd have to be done carefully to work with all of the bases and marks and such out there, unless it was just an overlay mutation (which would be a bit of a waste imo). imma support tentatively
