The challenge has been conquered! All hail Mittens, your new King/Queen/Title of their own choosing of Fire Escape!But do keep playing, and comment if you have not already! There will be some not-GB-but-hopefully-still-OK giveaways at the end of the event. See the 2023 notes below and this post for details!  For the love of all that is good in this world somebody PLEASE beat my score in Fire Escape. Please. I didn't acquire said score with any degree of skill, just with a bunch of furious slapping of the spacebar. It was 2017. I was younger then. My reflexes were like that of a person 6 years younger than my current age. And I'm older than a good chunk of the Lioden playerbase so if I can do it, you can do it. Please, somebody. Anybody. This is not what I should be remembered for. This is not what I should be immortalized for all of time for. If I'm gunna be on any leaderboard, it should be the Grumpy Old Lady leaderboard. >( "There's Msasi," People should say. "That crazy old lady no one wants to get to close to anymore. You know. First person to beat my score gets FREE ME FROM THIS CURSE IN THIS, THE YEAR 2023, PLEASE AND THANK YOU Some notes for 2023: * THIS IS THE FINAL YEAR OF THE CHALLENGE. There are a couple reasons for this, the main being that after all this time I do suspect that it IS an impossible score to defeat, lmao. Perhaps I just need to accept that this is my legacy and accept it. I sort of wanted my legacy to be sepias, but sometimes you just have to live with what fate gives you. * The prize has been boosted to 125 GB this year! Please beat my score and win it from me!  * 2022 Msasi was once again a saint and remembered to buy Jolly Pose apps (or Msasi's friends were Super Cool People who reminded her to buy them). Huzzah! This means, as usual, a full set of poses will be awarded to anyone who is on the leaderboard with a 2023 score at the end of the event. If, like last year, there are no new scores added, I will add everyone who comments on this thread this year into a big ol' list and task a random number generator with choosing a few winners. It may be useful for you to comment anyway, as this being the last year of the challenge, I may do some other smaller giveaway things at the end of the month too. * Remember to hydrate and take time to rest your sweet, sweet eyeballs and spacebar pressing digits.  Wow I picked a hell of a time to not check for a few hours. xD NOORA you are an amazing crazy person!!!!! That is a DAMN amazing score and you should be so proud of yourself and your poor, poor eyeballs! I do admit to being a bit torn, tho, since you didn't submit the score so it didn't actually do what I had wanted (moved my name down the list). And getting my name to be Not Number 1 was my entire goal for this challenge. BUT. I also don't want to deny you getting SOMETHING because I think we can all admit that is a hell of an accomplishment, submit or no submit. So, gimme a day to think it over and decide what feels fair (spoiler: it'll still be a chunk of GB, I promise) because I want you to get something, but I also want to still be able to reward someone who beats the score and submits and knocks my name down the list. TO SUMMARIZE FOR EVERYONE: 1) noora is amazing, all hail noora 2) Because the score wasn't submitted, it didn't technically complete my challenge tho, so CHALLENGE IS STILL OPEN 3) noora will still get GB, I promise (the admin know who I am and know I am good for my promises, so if noora doesn't have anything by this time tomorrow they can hang me from the rafters by my ears), I'm just going to take a day to decide on what feels fair because, again, noora is amazing and I never considered that this is a situation that might occur so it's caught me a bit off guard 0 players like this post! After further deliberation (and some sleep!) I have decided to award noora 40GB. :D My thought process was thus*: That is a HELL of an accomplishment for getting that score. It is not easy. If it were easy, I would not need to do this because someone would have beaten my score ages and ages ago because players on this site rock. These grapes are amazing. It did not achieve what I wanted to achieve, though, as I wanted my name knocked down on the damn list because I hate that this is my legacy. So, I didn't feel I could award the whole 50, buuuut I didn't want to lessen noora's accomplishment too much either! As such, just doing HALF felt like too little still. 40 felt like a good, fair compromise of being not a tiny amount of GB to sneeze at, even if it wasn't the full amount for completing the challenge in full. So, there we are! Congrats noora! You are amazing and I salute you!    For everyone, the challenge is still open! Please remove my name from the top of that leaderboard, I beg you all. (Also, noora, you are still welcome to continue to participate to try and get the 50 GB too if you wish!) * I may have eaten a snack while deliberating about this. 0 players like this post! Like? |
