Latte is upset, but tries to hide it. "Alan's just wandered off, I'll find him. Have you lost anybody?"

At that moment, Solomon runs up. "He's over here!" he cries.

Latte dashed after Solomon and find Ross curled around him- he's limp and seems so much smaller with his hyper and upbeat energy drained; even when sleeping, he seems so much bigger then his small frame as he kicks his paws or purrs through his dreams. "Solomon, take Ross home. The girls need you. I'll follow with him." once they have left, he lets himself cry and checks for breathing: faint, raspy, but there. He growls a little through his tears, knowing nobody from his pride had injured Aries' minions this badly. They respected the fact that the true battle had nothing to do with them, and had been gentle. The enemy must have been even more savage then he had thought; he could take the ruthless fight even in old age, but Alan was no bigger then an adolesent and his first and only fight had been deafeating Latte (and even then, Latte had given in easily as he could never harm him). He lifted Alan onto his back, hoping he would survive the walk home. He skirts around where he abandoned Zelie mid-conversation- he wants to be alone with what is left of his husband.

As he walks, swaying a little under the extra weight, Latte tries to remember all the good times. The first time he had seen Alan, when he was only a month or so old himself and Alan was a few days old; how he had brought him that bushbaby on xmas morning before his eyes had even opened. Washing Scooby and Shaggy (the hyenas) in the river and laughing like lunitics. Watching movies stolen from human camps in secret, behind the caves- he had always loved scooby doo, if not as much as Latte. Proposing to him with the daisy still behind his ear as he lies on his back now. Being married under the oak tree and walking down the aisle together. Snowfights. finding Woe and diving into parenthood. Ross being born and handed to them. He should have just had the arguement and stayed away from the stupid war; a world devestated by some star-lion with Alan safe is better then a beautiful world without him..

They reach the caves. Smalls, the bushbaby, runs up and sniffs at his master with a wimper. Latte walks past the shocked pride and lays in the cave- he tells himself he is waiting for him to awake, but he knows what he is really waiting for.. they are both old, but he had always thought he would go first, being older and bigger. He sighs, feeling nothing- feeling empty.
