What are NRLCs?
This guide is made by and for The Lioden Conservatory, and is made public to help others! This guide assumes you know a little bit about Lioden and its mechanics. It can be easily understood by new and returning players, however.

Whether you're new and just learning, or you're a veteran player confused by the new market, you've probably heard the term 'NRLC' thrown around, and, well, it probably confused you. I know it threw me for a loop the first time I saw it. Well, first off, we need a crash course on some common abbreviations that will be used in this guide. It's also important to note that this guide will NOT cover the pricing of NRLCs, as it varies by incredibly large amounts depending on any number of factors.
NRLC means Near Raffle Lioness Clone, which is a lion with a lot of traits from a Raffle Lioness (RL) or Raffle Lioness Clone (RLC). Usually, these are defined as lions with at least 10/15 of the Lioness's total traits. Some others have a different definition, but you should hold 10/15 as a baseline for determining if your lion is actually a NRLC, as it's becoming the most accepted in the breed-only community and the Raffle Lioness breeder community. Something that is also acceptable to call a NRLC is a lion with 9/15 traits, but one of the traits is the same base as the Raffle Lioness/Raffle Lioness Clone.

Wait, what do I mean by traits? I mean the RL's appearance data! For this guide, we will be looking at my own Raffle Lioness, Halona. Halona uses he/him pronouns for his lore, so I will refer to him as such, but he is still the original February 10th, 2023 Raffle Lioness. Usually, though, you're not going to have access to the RL you think your lion might be similar to, so what you're going to do is go to the Raffle Lioness Directory. Most likely, a lion is going to be related to a raffle lioness on the page I linked, but if you can't find a girl with your markings/traits, you can check on the other pages! To search for an RL, you're just going to use CTRL + F and type in a specific trait. For example, for Halona, I would search 'Seal Panther' until I find a Raffle Lioness that has seal panther in the same slot he does, which is Slot 3. From there, I would compare the other traits to see if it seems like the lion I have could have come from him.

For the purposes of determining if a lion is a NRLC of Halona or not, we will not be factoring in his mutation, which is Primal Fangs. This is because, gameplay wise, Mutation is separate from the other traits shown in this table. You should never count an RL's mutation towards the total traits she has for this reason. So, what traits are we left with?
...Well, we have his base, which counts for one trait, his mane shape and mane color, which also count for one trait each, and his eye and skin color, which are also each one trait. That makes 5 traits so far, and he also has 10 markings. Each marking is also going to be a trait, leaving us with a total of 15 traits. This means that, for the rest of this guide, we'll be counting up the total traits on the cub, and then marking it as x/15. Remember, or goal is a 10/15, OR a 9/15 with the base.

Let's see... oh, here's a cub we can look at!

Let's compare this cub to Halona, shall we? This girl has his base, mane shape, mane color, eye color, skin color, and four (4) of his markings. Let's add that all up, and we get... a 9/15! Usually, I wouldn't count this as a NRLC, however, this cub has his base, which is arguably the most important part of having a NRLC! After all, people want cubs who look like RLs or their clones, but won't hurt their wallet as much as a full clone would.

And that's all there is to it! Unfortunately, there is no quick guide to determining if your lion is a NRLC or not, and not all lions with a lot of BO traits are NRLCs. However, I hope this guide made the seemingly daunting task of finding out what your lion is or isn't just a little bit easier.
