We went back to square one - we'd like to get your feedback on a new design that we've created, heavily inspired by the current layout - just spruced up a bit, and modernized to use more current web technology! Some Notes: * This is not the final iteration of the layout, it's a preview build - there may be minor issues that will be fixed, or things that we rearrange. Please don't worry about bug reporting or making suggestions for repositioning at this point - we're looking for feedback about how the layout as a whole feels to you! * This layout should be fully mobile responsive, including the lion images and their layers * We are about 99% of the way with color contrast accessibility, and the new accent colors (buttons, progress bars [hunger, energy, etc]) should be colorblind friendly. * Alerts can cause a problem due to very similar brightnesses so icons have been added to alerts to counteract any bad interactions with colorblindness. * Layout Preview Settings: At the bottom of the page there are two options for layout settings. * Text can be resized to your preference within a range. The current default text size (90%) is the most similar to Lioden's current text size. 100% will be the new default when this layout launches, but we will automatically set everyone who is a member at the time to 90% so it's less of a harsh adjustment right away. The plan is that when the layout is implemented, this will be a setting on your account that you can change at will. * The site's theme can be changed to the game's existing layout themes (Day/Default, Night and Desert) and there is a new Dark theme. We are still tweaking Dark theme, and it's important to note that Night and Desert are lower contrast themes and may cause accessibility issues. i think the lion page is probably my least favourite. i really like the dark theme, new color schemes, and the text zoom (though it still could be bigger lol). i think the biggest thing for me would be if it is possible or not to allow users the choice to continue to use the old site layout; no matter how good the new one will be, some people will undoubtably still prefer the old. so it would be nice if that were possible. i’ll edit if i have more thoughts. 9 players like this post! LION PAGE: I don't have much feedback, however, I would recommend that (as someone who frequently mass claims and mass chases NCLs) that the Chase, Nature reserve, and Kill buttons be beside each other rather than stacked. the lion page preview is.....in a word..... LONG. WAY TOO LONG. Holy shit. On mobile I am scrolling for days, on browser I'm STILL scrolling for way too long just to find the appearance and markings. I do not give one single f*k about when a lioness was last bred, I want that entire breeding section except her heritage to be A TINY LITTLE DETAIL, not half it's own page on mobile and a very blocky, unappealing box on desktop. 29 players like this post! It's a lot better then the old UI, but it's very overwhelming/overstimulating and cluttered. Please don't make the UI like Wolvden's, which is difficult to navigate and use. 16 players like this post! Like? |

GENERAL: Some texts are bolded (like the text of Hunger, Energy, etc) and it makes it feel like there's no variation in the page and that it's screaming out at you. I wondered if you might be able to have both the current and the new platforms, maybe as an option? As far as layout goes anyways. I heavily dislike the redesign. On the lion page, everything is super cluttered and gives me a feeling of anxiety. Everything pops, and not in a good way. The having to scroll to see all of a lionesses markings also bothers me deeply. There's too much empty space in some spots, and not enough in others. If it were implemented like this, I would 100% be avoiding playing on mobile even more than normal. 27 players like this post! Like? |

As a whole community, we are begging you not to make this game similar to wolvden, wolvden drives away future players with its complicated/clunky layout design. Making this game similar to wolvden would do the same thing 26 players like this post! Like? |

I really appreciate the mod's efforts to improve the gaming experience for us players, but updating the layout is really unnecessary. The layout design seemed very overwhelming, intimidating and confusing to me. My neurodivergent brain couldn't really stay focused on the page and was screaming in pain as I scrolled through. Hence I would really appreciate it if the current layout design would be kept instead of changing the design entirely However, I really liked the "find a stud" session in the lion page. Rather than creating an entire new layout design, I suggest adding new features to the existing layout without changing design Thank you for all of your hard work! 23 players like this post! Like? |

The new layout is so overwhelming and long. As a mobile-only user this will be an awful look imo. When I clicked on it my entire face made a sour look. It’s just not the right fit for mobile users. I like the idea of being able to pick what layout- those who wish can use the old layout. It’s kinda crummy to shove a new cluttered overwhelming layout on those who don’t want it, and have been playing for years. Hopefully you guys come to the right conclusion for Lioden overall but personally no thanks on the change! Side note- love the game, appreciate all your hard work! i do like the new layout examples and i think the changes are very nice and keep the good things of lioden currently. i love the fact on the lion page preview i dont have to scroll a ton and the top box of info (heat, items) with the little icons is very helpful! my only personal preference is more ability to toggle more boxes, like the current options to collapse the decor box and editing box. i also i believe the energy bar should still be on top, above hunger and experience and impression bars. its the first thing i look at checking lioden, and i check very often! and i think its just more eye-friendly to have that be immediately on top. besides that, something so small is that the dark mode colors could maybe be tweaked just a bit in saturation, as the tan/brown in the example blends a bit too much on my monitor and tablet that i use with blue light filters and night mode where everything is warmer. but these are generally small gripes, its all great work! 1 player likes this post! I really like the look of it on desktop. However my main issue, as a mobile player, is that the layout seems much longer than our current one. Perhaps it could just be the phone I'm using, but I didn't like how much longer the page felt. 9 players like this post! Like? |

Idk.. it's a lot like wolvden's and I'm not sure if I like it. Wolvden's layout was very hard to navigate for me which is the main reason I stopped playing. If you guys are gonna install it anyway, can you guys please make it toggle-able like how you can choose the layout of the den page because I'm sure some people may not like it. I like the current layout and I hope that I may be able to use this one if I so choose. Edit: I just read the part where they said it's a choice but it still feels too cluttered and messy and why did they have to separate EVERY SINGLE THING? It makes the page way too long for mobile users. I say just leave lioden how it is, it's like you guys are trying to make it more like Wolvden.. 16 players like this post! Like many others have said, the new lion page preview is CLUTTERED. Long. The vibe is all off. I feel like I'm looking at a data sheet, not playing a gaming SIM and it looks really annoying to try to get used to. The decor equipped preview is full sized, half the things that should be little details are giant, blocky, in your face and very very distracting. A lion's page is supposed to showcase the LION. The vibe is so wrong, the generated lion looks like a small painting hung at the very top of a wall of text and data. 25 players like this post! Like? |
