Welcome to the Sunspot Pride

The territory one would enter as they approach this pride is barren. Sometimes, in this desert basin, coated in volcanic black sand, there's signs that someone used to live here: poorly made mimicries of arrows, water skins, bones, claw marks where temporary dens were dug out, quickly fading to the effects of weathering. There's no pride here but the ghost town remnants of times long past, and the land is far from promising. Barely anything chooses to live here, and what does live here is cautious and more than capable of defending itself. Every lion who got even a glimpse at the sand within the sheer cliffs of the basin has turned back, for there's nothing worth seeing here.

The pride that lives here resides below. Contrary to their name, the Sunspot Pride didn't seen the sun for many generations. In fact, many of them haven't seen anything at all. This pride lived subterranean lives for generations, but thanks to Wobbegong, are finally beginning to emerge on the other side of their volcanic basin, where ocean waves crash into the cliffs and the breeze off the water cools the sun's blazing heat. The pride is finally starting to emerge, and at last they've seen the sun again.

About the Current Leader

Fisher Coelacanth is the leader of this small pride, and the first queen who can clearly see her surroundings in the light of day. The Pride follows her lead out of an underwater cave, and into the beaches beyond, where they can enjoy the sun on their fur until they return to rest in the cool tunnels below.

Coelacanth emerges regularly, diving out from the cove and surfacing on the sunny beaches. Under her leadership, her pridemates, have been led out one at a time to experience the outside world for the first time in an eternity. Sands that do not burn, water in abundance, soft plants growing on the edges.

Coelacanth ushers in a new era for the Sunspot Pride, and takes on this responsibility wholeheartedly. The Sunspot lions will see the sun again. She'll make sure of it.
