ROLES

King and Queen - The pride's ruler and their spouse. The ruler is supposed to keep their pride safe, organized and happy. Along with their spouse, the ruler also takes care of relationships with other prides. They form alliances and ensure that there are no conflicts. Their cubs have the titles of princes and princesses.

Princes and Princesses - Cubs of current or previous King and Queen. Despite their titles, they have no power or privileges.

The Council of the Wise- A group of the most trusted, experienced and important lions in the pride. They help their ruler with making important decisions.

Shamans - Lions with a special connection to the gods and spirits. They also have a vast knowledge of herbalism, rituals and magic of any kinds. They receive prophecies, read omens and take care of their pridemates' spiritual health. They often work with herbalists.

Herbalists - Lions specializing in healing. They have extensive knowledge in the field of medicine, mostly herbal medicine. They are an essential part of the pride because they take care of its health. They can heal wounds and illnesses, deliver babies, and take care of the elderly.

Lorekeeper - A lion in charge of taking care of the history of the pride and passing it on to the next generations

Huntresses - Lionesses specially trained for hunting. After completing their training, they join one of few hunting parties.
The Hunting Master is in charge of all the huntresses, she's also a part of The Council of the Wise

Guardians - Patient, strong and wary lionesses. They guard assigned places like nursery, the hoard cave, medicine den etc.
Their training involves sharpeni ng all their senses, often by temporarily depriving them of hearing, sight and smell.

Border Guards - Lionesses patrolling the Land's borders.

Fighters - Lionesses who specialize in combat. They protect the pride from lions and other predators. Fighters often take part in hunting large or dangerous animals or help the Border Guards on their patrols.
The Combat Master is in charge of all the fighters, she's also a part of The Council of the Wise.

Caretakers - Lionesses living in the nursery. They help new mothers by taking care of their cubs when they are busy with their duties. They also take care of orphaned or abandoned cubs. They have a basic understanding of medicine. Caretakers are usually protective, soft lionesses who are not interested in any form of violence, including hunting. Some older lionesses decide to become caretakers after retiring.

Apprentices - Lionesses between one and two years of age. Their mentors teach them the basic skills and help them find their talent. After choosing their profession, they have to go through an additional training under the supervision of The Masters or other competent lions.

The Hunting Master - The best huntress in the pride. She's in charge of all the other huntresses and is the leader of The Hunting Masters hunting party, which was founded by Queen Silky.

The Combat Master - The best fighter in the pride, in charge of all the other fighters.
Currently: Amethyst

The Stealth Master - A title created specifically for Sunset to honor her extraordinary abilities, she serves as a spy for the ruler.

The Travel Master - A lioness with an extraordinary knowledge of the world, often a past traveler. She knows about other countries, their cultures and habits, knows the tricks of travel, and often accompanies the ruler during trips to other lands.

The Heir - Succesor to the throne trained by the current ruler
Currently: Oleander

Cubs - Every lion and lioness under 1 year old is considered to be a cub. They have no responsibilities and are cared for by caretakers. Since Hawk became a king, all of his male cubs and most of the female ones are abandoned at The Giving Tree once they don't need their mother anymore. Only the strongest females are allowed to stay.
