Sagittario's icy gaze followed Phoenix's as she looked off to her right. Oh, him. He'd been in Grand Slam a few times to check out various women. Sometimes he was even thrown out after harassing some of them. Sagittario didn't like him on principle, but this time was different.

His gaze slid between the man and Phoenix a few times, watching the predator gaze in the mans eyes. Something within his gut wrenched as a wave of hot jealousy washed over him. He had to physically bite his tongue to keep a growl from his throat, and his hands clentched by his sides.

'No no, no, not now. I can't change now.'

He thought, forcing himself to look away from the man before the Veela within him took over. He was not going to let that hideous beast take over. He wished he was only part Veela, then he wouldn't have to deal with the possessive, jealous, birdlike thing.

'Her? This girl is my . . . mate?'

He wondered nervously, clearing his throat after a moment as Phoenix turned back to him. Prince Charming? She wasn't making this any easier, was she?

"Definitely. You're mother would know best when it comes to things like that."

Phoenix's brows furrowed as she thought of her mother and if she would know best when it came to Prince Charmings. Whilst she did indeed loved her mother she knew her parents had started out as just another arranged couple. The fact they turned out to love each other, true love, was lucky. She wasn't sure if her mother would have chosen her father had she been given the choice.

"I love my mother very much but she wouldn't know how to pick my Prince Charming. Of course she's very clever and has this uncanny ability to know if someone isn't right for you but to pick out the only One who is? She found hers but it was no choice of hers."

She paused, her gaze wandering back to the man as thoughts futtered through her mind. She didn't notice Sagittario's struggle or tense body.

"You know, fairy tales always have true love's first kiss. That in that kiss you just know, and I'm pretty sure my mother knew when father kissed her for the first time. Maybe thats what I need to do if I seriously want to find my Prince. I should kiss every man I come across until I find the One."

She continued, her innocent gaze leaving the strange man to glance back at the ethereal beauty that was Sagittario. If only she could be lucky enough for him to be her Prince...

Sagittario couldn't help but smile as he listened to Phoenix speak, even though he was still acutely aware of the man still watching her. She was so blissfully innocent, it was endearing. He wanted to protect that in her, no doubt probably like most of the men in her life. The way she spoke about finding her Prince Charming, it reminded him of how the few Veela girls he had known when he was younger had talked about finding their mate. Somehow that just made her more perfect to him.

"I was more speaking about just talking to strangers in general, but I suppose you have a point. Parents in general usually don't give good advise when it comes to finding one's Prince – or Princess, in my case."

He agreed with a slight chuckle. His adoptive father had tried his hardest to help Sagittario after it was revealed he was a pureblooded male Veela, but as much as he tried, he just wasn't very helpful.

"Now, I wouldn't go that far," he said quickly with a nearly alarmed glance to Phoenix. "Honestly I think that would cause more problems than it would solve. Several angry women and even more angry men to deal with, it's a recipe for disaster."

Even as he spoke, he couldn't help but laugh at the statement that seemed so innocent, it was almost as if it belonged to a young child. This girls was truely an enigma.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I ever caught your name, Ms. . . . "

This girl was his, according to his Veela genetics. He could only hope she would stay until his shift was over . . . not much longer now.

Meanwhile, in a separate part of the store, Lucius looked around and frowned, suddenly realizing his youngest was nowhere in sight.

"Where's Phoenix?"

He asked, looking over to his wife as the overprotective father in him fought for control he wasn't willing to relinquish. Phoenix was getting older, there was no need for him to panic of she wasn't at his side at all times.

Phoenix's eyebrows furrowed when Sagittario mentioned kissing every man she came across wasn't the best solution. She supposed he did have a point in a way but how else was she supposed to find her Prince Charming, her Kristoff, her Flynn Rider? What if without true love's first kiss she met her one true love and didn't even realise it? She could have already met him, never known it, and had already walked away from him.

Her gaze left Sagittario and looked at the strange man as she contemplated how else to find out if a man was her soul mate. She was brought out of her musings however when the enchantingly handsome sales assistant asked for her name.

She turned to answer him absentmindedly,

"Hm? Oh, Phoenix Hermia Malfoy."

She didn't expect Sagittario, a Muggle as she had assumed, to know about her family.

Hermione shook her head in amusement at her husband's question.

"She's right next to yo-"

She spoke, stepping ahead a bit to glance around him only to notice that Phoenix was not on the other side of Lucius anymore. Her words were cut off at the shock of her youngest daughter missing. Where on earth could she be?!

"We have to find her!"

She said urgently knowing anything could happen to her little girl. She was so niave and innocent. She knew she'd be a very easy person to take advantage of.

Sagittario seemed taken aback as he heard Phoenix's name, shifting his weight back on his heels as though trying to get a better look at her.

"You're a Malfoy?"

He asked, the surprise running deep within his accented voice. As he decided on his following question, his voice lowered and he glanced around him for any approaching muggles.

"Forgive me for asking, but what is a member of Wizarding Britain's most well known pureblooded family doing in New York of all places?"

Lucius couldn't help but smirk in amusement at his wife's instantaneous panic. After a moment he reached out to grab her shoulders, sliding his hands down until they met hers and lacing their fingers together.

"Hermione, calm down. You're not allowed to be more overprotective of Phoenix than me, remember?"

He asked teasingly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"I'm sure she's fine. Come on, she can't have gotten too far off."

"Wait, you're a wizard?!"

Phoenix gasped, wide eyed and in shock. She knew it wasn't the smartest reaction in the world but it was her first reaction to Sagittario's questions. He was a wizard and she liked him. Did that mean he was her Prince Charming?

Then remembering his last question she blinked a few times as she regained her usual aloof composure.

"Did you not hear? We're no longer Purebloods. I'm a Half-blood actually and my mother is a Muggleborn. Besides, we're here on holiday."

"She better Lucius otherwise I'm going to string you up by..."

Here Hermione paused, blushing bright red as she looked at the ground a moment before she could look back at her husband and continue,

"Well you know what by."

With that Hermione began scanning the shopping centre around her in a desperate bid to find her youngest, and most niave, daughter. She was so glad she didn't have to worry about her twins. They were both very intelligent, cunning, and no problems with seeing the world as it truly was. Hermione knew they would always be okay, infact better then okay as they had the best from both of their parents.

Perhaps she had coddled Phoenix a little too much, but to her own defense she had been worried that Phoenix would be the last child she ever had and so instinctively she had wanted to keep Phoenix her child as long as possible.

Suddenly her gaze found a familiar head of hair.

"Oh my god! She's with a man!"

Sagittario hesitated, quickly biting his tongue as she inquiries to his race. Glancing around once more for muggle activity, and finding himself grateful that the other man had slunk off, he twirled his wrist with a flare of his hand to produce a single rose. The outside of each petal was white, while the inside was red, creating, in his opinion, a stunning flower that still managed to pale in comparison to the witch before him.

"Not a wizard, but of magical blood. My parents are wizards, though."

He explained. He couldn't lie to her about his heritage, but that didn't mean he had to tell her he was a Veela. It would be Merlin's guess to how she would react.

"Taro! C'mon man, it's quitin' time! Let's go, the stadium's gonna fill up quick!"

Sagittario glanced over as some of the other employees whom he called friends stood around waiting for him. Pulling his phone from his pocket he saw it was in fact time his shift ended, and the next set of employees had already arrived.

"I'm out this time 'round, maybe next time."

He called back, using an app on his phone that linked to the store's employee records to clock out before placing his phone and his name tag into his pockets as he returned his gaze to Phoenix.

"Well, yes, your line isn't quote unquote "pure," but the pureblood legacy still lives on through your half brother and his family."

He pointed out with a slight shrug.

"And I thought your family hade vacation homes in Greece, Italy, all across why come to New York of all places?

Lucius arched an eyebrow in amusement as he listened to his wife. He loved when she threatened him, especially since she could almost never do so without blushing to her roots.

"First off, she'll be fine. She may be naive, but you taught her well. Secondly I'd like to see you try, and thirdly even if you did manage such a thing, that would mean no more children, and you know you want at least one more."

He insisted, watching her in amusement and occasionally glance up to look were she was looking. Maybe Hermione had a point being worried, as both of them had coddled her far too much, but one of them had to keep a calm head.

Of course, that idea was out the window as soon as Hermione had announced the company their daughter was currently keeping. Following his wife's gaze, he found the duo and his eyes narrowed. The boy looked somewhat professional, his outfit resembling what he had seen on the other employees of Grand Slam with few differences, but that didn't matter to a father protective over his daughter.

Without another word to Hermione, he started walking towards the pair, intent on seeing just what was going on between his baby girl and this boy she was so engrossed with.

"You're either a wizard or you're a squib or you're a muggle."

Phoenix protested. She didn't quite understand why she was so defensive over Sagittario being a wizard. Then again she wanted her daddy to approve of him so badly and although his views had changed since he met her mother it didn't mean he'd approve of a man that had little to no magical power - aka a squib or even worse a muggle - as a potential Prince Charming for her.

"Even Uncle Ron's brother, Bill, has a wife who is a witch and a Veela!"

She ranted although she did get distracted when Sagittario produced a beautiful, delicate and very unique Rose for her. A deep blush rose on her cheeks as she delicately cupped the bloom into her palms. She lifted it up to her nose and took a deep whiff only to sigh happily at the scent it produced. It smelt so fresh, so wonderful, and she knew she'd never find anyone quite like Sagittario.

Despite the fond bond between Draco, Astoria, Scorpius, and Lucius' new family, Phoenix found herself frowning when her half brother and his family was mentioned. Wasn't Scorpius about to get engaged to Lily Luna Potter?

"Well that doesn't make them better then us."

Again, she didn't understand why she was so defensive. Of course she wanted Sagittario to like her and be her Prince Charming but did it warrant this strange feeling? She normally felt as if she was living in a beautiful haze floating in the clouds but right now she felt very grounded and she honestly didn't like it. She fet far too vunerable.

"My sister and brother wanted to come to New York to shop and see the sights with their respective true loves, I didn't mind coming here since its a mecca for fairy tales, and mother convinced daddy it was a good idea."

As if speaking of her father was a summoning, Phoenix then spotted him out of the corner of her eye heading this way with her mother following calmly behind him.

Hermione could have tried to hold her husband back but she knew it would cause more of a scene then letting Lucius have his way and so let him go what he felt needed to be done. She'd clear up any messes as they occurred. When it came to his children, especially Phoenix, Hermione had learnt to let his protectiveness have free reign for the most part. It saved them from an inevitable explosion of it later on.

"Daddy!"

Phoenix beamed happily as she turned round to face him completely.

"Daddy, this is Sagittario. He's a wizard too!"

She introduced, skipping closer to grab her father's arm and hold it close to her chest.

"Please be nice. I really like him!"

Phoenix whispered to her father desperately, her eyes widening in a classic 'sad puppy' look that was definitely not forced nor put on for Lucius' benefit.

"Wizards aren't the only magical creatures, Phoenix."

He pointed out gently, his stance changing to something a bit more defencive, but also slightly submissive. He didn't want her upset with him. It made him ache due to the Veela bond.

"I never said they were better. No person is better than another, regardless of blood status."

He said softly, gently running a hand through his tussled black hair.

Glancing up as Phoenix's attention was diverted, he tried his best not to react as he saw Lucius Malfoy heading towards them. He was renowned for his temper, even outside of his own community's reach. Even the Italians recognized his temper, and they had their own colossal tempers to reckon with.

He desperately wanted to point out that he wasn't actually a wizard, but figured it was rather pointless unless he was willing to reveal what he really was.

Lucius examined Sagittario carefully. Another wizard, hmm? As he heard his little girl's whispers, his gaze moved to her and he inwardly sighed. He couldn't say no to her.

"Alright sweetheart."

He murmured, glancing over to his wife to catch her reaction.

It was only after Phoenix introduced Sagittario to her father that she realised something. Sagittario lived here, in New York, whilst she lived in England. How would she ever see him again after this holiday? Despite having magic even she knew it would be extremely hard to have any kind of long distance romance and relationship.

She did wonder if she could, perhaps, just take Sagittario home with her at the end of the holiday like she had done with a three headed dog puppy she'd found in Scotland. She'd look after Sagittario at home, and her father could even give him a job at one of his large companies. They could get a castle together, money was no problem for a Malfoy after all, and live happily ever after. Decision decided she knew it would be best to have her Prince Charming asleep for the journey. There would be less stress that way. The same had been done with her three headed dog puppy, Prince Eric, too.

Hermione watched her youngest daughter and the familiar expression in her eyes. It had been the same with her puppy, the desire to take something she loved home and she had a feeling this time it wasn't an animal, a pet, that her little girl wanted to take home. Whilst Hermione was often the voice of reason even she knew it was going to be hard to tell Phoenix that taking Sagittario home wasn't an option. At leat not the way Phoenix was thinking of it.

It didn't take long for Hermione to recognise who Phoenix wanted to take home either. Now that would cause an international incident. She could see the headlines now 'Malfoy Heiress kidnaps Italian MoM's Son'. Her daughter really knew how to pick them, didn't she?

"He's the Italian Minister of Magic's son.."

She told Lucius, whispering in his ear before turning to the young man in question that had put stars in her daughter's eyes.

"Its a pleasure to meet you Sagittario. I hope your father is well."

Hermione greeted before adding,

"I'm Hermione Malfoy, this is my husband Lucius, and it seems you've already met our youngest Phoenix."

The Italian Minister of Magic's son? Well, as much as Hermione had reformed him, that did allow Lucius to relax a bit. A bit. This was still his little princess that was falling for the Italian boy in front of them.

Sagittario tried not to stiffen as Hermione mentioned his father, but could not help gown his naturally tanned skin became several shade lighter. She knew, she knew who he was. That meant they would know soon. They were always on the look out. They always knew right were to find him.

"The pleasure is mine, Lady Malfoy. My father is doing il bene, thank you."

Was his accent thicker? It was, damn it. Curse his nervous ticks. Too much longer he'd been completely rambling in Italian. Merlin, help him.

Phoenix shivered in physical excitement for the first time at Sagitarrio's accent and italian words. She didn't understand the feeling it brought out in her but she did know she wanted to hear it again. A lot.

Hermione managed to catch this out of the corner of her eye and despite the fact she didn't want to loose her little girl she also knew she didn't want her to be unhappy either. So she stepped forward towards Sagittario as she did something she hoped she would not regret.

"I haven't been to a social event in a while, I've been so busy, but I hear the British Ministry of Magic is holding an international ball next week. Usually I find these things quite dull but I'm sure Phoenix and I would enjoy it a lot more should you and your family attend."

She was pretty sure Phoenix didn't understand the concept of dating or asking someone out to do so, so she decided to help her daughter in this endeavour. Especially since she had a feeling her daughter's alternative of kidnapping would happen if she didn't prevent it first.

Sagittario was reluctant, but with a bit of prodding from Phoenix and Hermione, he agreed to talk to his parents about the family attending this event. It was just him, his parents, and his little sister – rather small compared to most wizarding families – but it was still something, he supposed.

He had arrived alone, but his parents had promised they would meet him early on during the night. However, before spotting them, he first saw Phoenix arrive with her family.

He couldn't help but smile as he saw her. He hadn't even noticed what she was wearing; her beauty had already captured his attention far too much.

Glancing down at his white suit for a moment, he fixed the cuffs of his shirt and straightened out the collar of his jacket before her approached her, still smiling beyond his control.

"Saluti, bella principessa."

He greeted as he came to stop in front of her, gently taking her hand and pressing a kiss to her fingers.
