World Wildlife Day

Today is World Wildlife Day, and with that we want to honour what we may lose if we don’t fight for it as civilization, as a whole. Every day should be wildlife day.

2014 alone, according to data published by South African Department of Environmental Affairs, 1250 Rhinos were poached. It's double than 2012. Just in january 2015, 49 Rhinos fell to poachers. Imagine how bad it would be without organizations who try to save those animals. Not only Rhinos, but Elephants, lions, leopards, all of them.

Many poachers will hack brutally the the entire face off of the rhino with axes while the animal is still alive to ensure that they get the entire horn as well as this "serum" as it is worth more.

Living our everyday lives might seem helpless in a big fight against such endless problem. It might not occur to us when we drink our morning coffee, drive to work or play a videogame, that we actually can do a little something, to help people who are professionally prepared to fight against mass animal massacres. We can give them a hand and share what we have with them, and help spreading the word around the world. Helping to save the lions, rhinos and elephants, and all other endangered animals is in our hands as well.

Anti-Poaching Event

poachingevent.jpg

Anti-Poaching Event is creating oppoturnity for you to defeat poachers in Explore, gain Prevent Points to unlock the secret area and defend the Africa!
What is great that the wandering poachers have randomized encounters AND some outcomes too, and this adds a lot of variety to your choices! But be careful! If your level is too low, you might not stand a chance against a large number of poachers! There's traps everywhere!
Killing poachers and just shooing them away is affecting your karma!

Prevent Points are gained for public bar unlock, but you might notice you also gain "RB". These are Rhino Beetles, a special event currency! Keep onto them as you unlock the secret area!

But Poachers aren't only lurking in Lioden, they already did some evil. You might stumble upon the results of their doings in explore as well. It might be horribly sad but it's horribly true in real life as well. We want to raise awareness, and we want you to be prepared for sad times.

But be wary! If you guys don't manage to prevent poaching in time and unlock tier 3, there will be harsh consequences!

Charity

Just like last year, we will be donating part of our March income (at the end of the month) to organization we trust and believe in the most. The person who founded it, Damien Mander, used to work as a sniper and in the military but gave up that and all his life savings to start IAPF when he noticed how bad poaching was when he went to Africa. They use the top notch technology to fight poachers with best tools possible, such as trap detectors, drones and military training, scoring arrests with constant ambushes. They do everything to prevent animal extinction in Africa alone, not just post sad posters around the world.

To learn more about Damien Mander and IAPF, you can watch this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0yxeQYca-U

Event update for 2015: as you unlock tiers, a few more encounters in explore will appear. Also, new rewards in the shop will be available in higher tiers.

Good luck, and good night!

The numbers are growing cause demand is higher due to organizations stopping a lot of poachers, and the price is going up. Also, as time goes, we can PROVE better how many animals died. These are numbers written in the government offices. The actual numbers of poaching might as well be hell bigger in previous years when animal tracking wasn't as modern as it is now.

I am personally throwing karma to the winds for this event. My personal beliefs dictate that it is not wrong to kill a diseased animal that is directly posing a threat to its environment, like a rabid dog or a poacher. I do not believe that anyone capable of carving the flesh off a living animal is actually human, nor redeemable in any way, nor of any use on this planet aside from fertilizer. So in my own personal headcanon, it's good karma to kill those things, because they are nothing more than walking diseases that must be eradicated to protect the environment.

It's wonderful that this site spreads awareness about poaching in Africa and donates to a charity that's doing its best to stop this poaching.

IAPF= A great cause.

Thank you guys for raising awareness again this year and thank you for donating to a good organization.
It's one thing to just play a game; It's another to learn something and actually make an impact while playing.

It breaks my heart how ruthless and brutal these poachings can be. Once we lose our keystone species there will be a devastating topple-down effect that is going to kill our planet faster than any climate change ever could. There are lots of issues that are important, but i'm truly glad that light is being shone on the horror of poaching.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that there are only 5 White Rhinos left in the world. So sad.

"Just like last year, we will be donating part of our March income (at the end of the month) to organization we trust and believe in the most"

Is there any chance we could get an estimate on what portion/percentage will be donated? I assume the donation amount will be announced at the end of the month? (I missed the end of this event last year :( )
