no idea if this is in the right section ahhhh *just adding the LF Digital Artist to title* N-Now I'm even more unsure if this is in the right section So it's 2:30 AM when I get an idea for a new species. What do I do? Immediately sit up and sketch it, of course. Afterwards, I feel rather pleased with my creation and wonder, "Would other people like this?" What do I do next? Make this thread, of course. Ehehe, so yeah. These are the two little sketchies I came up with! They don't have a name yet :c I do have a few ideas for their behaviors and such, however! - They're a pack mammal with no alpha pair. The females have less fluff and do most of the hunting/foraging while the males stay at the dens and care for the pups. - They're omnivores. They eat berries, insects, and the occasional small rodent. - Guards stand up on their back legs to "watch" over the pack and use their tail for extra balance. - They communicate with clicks. They have enhanced hearing and smell due to their lack of eyes.* *As they somewhat resemble bats, I was considering giving them echolocation rather than enhanced hearing and smell....Or a combination of both! Let me know what you think! Please fill out the following form to let me know what you think! 1) Any changes you would make? (Tell me here what you think of the whole echolocation vs enhanced senses!) 2) Would you buy one and how much would you pay? 3) If you're a digital artist, would you consider doing the lineart of these little guys if I do end up making them an adoptable/closed/whateverwordiscorrecthere species? (You would get a share of the profits, of course!) Artists who'd like to do the lineart of this species are free to draw them as examples! I just ask that if you do draw them, do not sell the art you do of them c: It's not a requirement that you post a drawing of them in your style, however! If you'd rather show me various art that you've done in the past, that's quite alright, too!<3 THE NAME HAS BEEN CHOSEN! *hallelujah plays softly in the background* The name for this new species is...Amicaeus! It was suggested by Emmon (#37702)! It is a mix of the Latin words for "blind" and "friend," which I just absolutely love~<3  0 players like this post! Like? I really like both names! xD I like Caerapix for the "ae" and the "pix" part. I really love odd, unique names like that, especially ones with the letters x, y, and z. Double a's like in the name Aaron really get me, too, haha! And I like the name Chomlings as well because of the cuteness factor~ It also sounds like a Pokemon xD 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh my... What if I told you i'm creating a whole island of creatures with no eyes? Who have developed a unknown but almost deadly new sense that humans them selves can not comprehend. My first creature for this was Exoraptor :3 his basicly a decorative raptor with blade tails and no eyes :D there are weird gill like forms where the eyes should be a weird chemical dubbed Exo Fluid is produced to help the creature see around what is there, or what is going to be there hehehe they have a little twist. They see a few moments ahead of whats really happening all the possible actions making them deadly predators males have bright feathers around their necks while females have a crest like feature on their snout :3 I HAVE TO DRAW THEM NOW TO SHOW YOU .3. 0 players like this post! 1. Aralaea ; Omatrem ( Mix of latin words for man and mother) ; Amicaeus (mix of latin words for blind and friend) ; Chulii 2. I would not give them bird back legs. It just looks wierd to me. I would give them canid legs and an abdomen that tapers off towards the back of their body. They'd be tall and spindly u3u Echolocation would be cool. But that can always be added to a strong sense of smell as well! 3. Maybe. Depends on the final design and such :) 500sb and over 4. Yeah, of course :P 0 players like this post! Like? |

ZoromChi, I considered for a moment that it could've been a typo, but I wasn't sure xD I like both Chomlings and Chomplings! Syii, awesome! aaa *also has a love for griffins and such* Ooo what about canid paws but with an extra talon claw?? And super long claws. They aren't really big predators, though... Oh, I really like that claws idea, Emmon! :o And I haven't really thought about their interactions with humans, since I'm still not sure what kind of environment they'd live in xD If anyone has any ideas, feel free to suggest! As for intelligence...I-I'm not sure there either. That sounds interesting, Zeroknight, but I'm not sure xD I do kind of like that idea, though, Emmon :o About variations depending on habitat. Maybe that'd have more of an affect on their markings rather than physical build, though.
