I agree with you Narnia. I get underpriced a lot, even if it's something that takes me hours to do. Especially with more than one thing in a picture. Like say 14 + lions, and they offer me 3 GB. Uh no... took me days to do that many.

And I can tell that piece took you a long time to do. I agree with Star on pricing.

Honestly, I wouldn't even bother trying to sell these for GB, unless you're really desperate. I'd pay $25-30 for one of these, but very few people have 50-60 GB and are looking to spend it on art. If you want to sell for GB, do not underprice yourself. The art market for GB on here is horrid, but don't cave in. If you're lucky [and only if- a lot of artists are overlooked by chance] HQ art like this goes quite well- Esava is a renowned artist on here and on DA [where she's known as NadiaVanderdonk hope I spelled that right] and she rarely opens up avatar commissions. When she does, I've seen them bought out for 100 GB in a matter of a couple of days. This is a rarity, and I know of only a handful of artists who can do this... Wreckium, Pairo, and Esava are the only ones off of the top of my head, I'm sure I'm missing more.

To restate, it is possible to sell art for high amounts of GB on here, if you're both persistent and lucky- don't underprice yourself, be patient, and advertise. Otherwise, USD is less likely to be sold; you have a better chance of selling if you offer mixed options of either GB or USD. Don't let this scare you off of commissions! I as well as certainly many other members would love to get a hold on some of your art. It is stunning. c: I'm just trying to stress here, please for the love of all that is reasonable don't underprice yourself, omg. 5-7 GB is outrageous. Breaks my heart x-x

EDIT: read through other replies... maybe i'm just super passionate on pricing as i'm an artist myself, but i'm still internally cringing at 10-15 GB. eurgh. I mean no offense to whomever said that, it's a matter of opinion and when it comes to art I'm pathetic. I get carried away easily.. //glances at wallet

EDIT 2: rereading this and i need to sleep. not at all clear here feel free to PM me if you want some clarification on somethings, agh.

you're completely right actually,
these irl sell for 45 usd each- i hesitate to say i'm a "professional" artist but it is my living, and my clients never complain about the prices ;v;

fully rendered ones go from 60+ .

fullbody paintings are even more pricey-
i'd love to sell for GB on this website but so far it's just not happening lol

thank you <3 it's nice to know that some people understand and appreciate art ;w;

and thank you guys! you flatter me ;;u;;

also yeah, lioden (and other sim sites) infamously underprices art big time. i've actually seen people call art that goes for 20 GB expensive, lmao, not considering the time and devotion that goes into the art. it'd definitely be worth trying to sell some art on here though, because occasionally users are willing to pay fair prices. c:

if I had 100 GB to spend (which is what I personally think this is worth) i know i'd be a customer ovo

Glad to hear you are getting decent offers on your art elsewhere, as well as some attention here <3 I see way too many members on here new to LD's art economy get tripped up by the lowballs that are common and completely undersell their effort.

Anyways!
This is gorgeous! I love your smooth, painterly way of shading. The contrast in technique between the inner ear and longer hair is very pleasing and communicates a great use of texture- perhaps you could try that same smooth gradient on the nose, as it is also a leathery/skinlike material? I'm also missing some of the texture found on the face that isn't on the furthest ear, unless that too has a smoother texture. I'm not sure of the anatomy of the animal depicted, so I'm guessing around cx I am also aware that as this is a sketch you likely focused on one thing to detail, which is the face/hair, so the aforementioned parts may just be unfinished/didn't receive the same attention.

Otherwise, I keep coming back to the bridge of the nose and the cheek. I love the texture and brush strokes there, they're very lifelike and give the sketch an overall pleasing painterly look <3 Your art is stunning, and you should definitely feel proud. If you have commissions open elsewhere for USD, hit me up. I have a problem c:

@Shaska | TWP | SF |

thank you ;A;!
yea, the character is a shark-hybrid so they have smoother short hair, but i agree with you that i should pay more attention to what i'm painting lol
i was kinda rushing with this one xD, it wasn't a commission, it was for my sister c:

yes i have an FA and DA actually , c:

i'm more active on FA but i post stuff on DA too- its just delayed xD

my commissions are really really full but if you want i can add you to the bottom of the que? it's a bit of a wait though ;^;

thanks so much for your feed back it's really nice to read c:

Definitely don't undersell yourself.
The only reason I would ever do commissions on here is for the pure desire for GB. I could earn a lot more from selling outside of Lioden, so if you're doing well outside of lioden, don't sell yourself short, just because people won't pay, what you ask on here. It happens all over sim games and you should only be doing it if it's something you truly want to do.

Aw, thank you so much ^-^
I really want some GB though, so I might do an auction within the next couple of months. Who knows.
- I just can't afford to buy them, so I guess my time will have to do, lol
