Mora looked lovingly upon her gatherer.Every wolf in her pack,no matter what age was treated as her grown-up children.With respect and love."Karma dear,I have seen that bush many times before.The potent berries make good snake bite antidote,and are not lethal,they usually only cause cramps and stomach pain.Your concern was very intelligent and understandable,and it also showed how much smarter you are by remembering the poison plant.You may place you satchel of food and herbs on my table for our meal tonight.Fantastic job Karma"She smiled once more before turning and tasting the air for the stench of death and decay.

Alamora looked at the swamp pack alpha.She had taken an oath to not hurt anything,but she could still use her wits."All dead here are buried.Aren't there enough dead in you putrid rotting swamp?"She bared her razor sharp fangs.They would sometimes go dull from eating plants and chewing herbs,but they sharpened them on boulders."Go from our territory,and even if HE is leaving,YOU are not,so you still present a problem now,don't you."She said.He voice becoming menacing sweet."So,I would make a recommendation that you turn tail and run." Her amber eyes narrowed,her gaze boring deep into his soul,or what would be his soul if he had one.

The shaman stood quiet, drooping slightly as the situation escalated. A shudder shook matted fur, sending a few maggots tumbling from their hiding place in the matted, congealed fur there. A chewed up ear swiveled back as his own Alpha announced himself, but Revenant didn't make any other reaction. A low, rumbling hum filled the air, probably taking a bit of deduction that it came from the shaman. Laughter, agreement, or threat? Revenant was not going to clarify that, unfortunately.

"Such hostility. A plague passes, like river and season. You tolerate water and weather, but not the disease? Let it touch for a while, let the immune survive so it may not come again, hmm?" The Shaman tilted its head slowly, "Time is short, as life. Blood on the ground lets the soil grow fertile. From death comes life. Let us walk and enjoy for a time."

Li sighed heavily when Alamora asked him to go back to his territory, and he smirked slightly. She didn't threaten him, since he knew she wouldn't hurt him just because he was bothering her slightly. Mora looked at the Shaman,now here was a puzzling wolf.His skin and fur made her shiver inwardly,the fact that a pack would let it's most powerful member reach this point in health was sickening."What if the immune do not exist?What then?We die out that's what.Without each other we are nothing.Fire would ravage the landscape if not for water magic,and plagues and illness would kill us all if not for healing.We balance,that is how it is,and that was how it was meant to be and always will be.If you destroy us with your disease the lands would turn black with sickness and the animals would die.You would feast for a month at most,then starve and have to move on.But where?The land beyond the borders is uncharted and unexplored.Few brave souls have dared venture.And have never returned.You are strong fighters,but your stubbornness and blood lust would not get you far,especially if your enemies are many times larger then you and better armored as the First Ancestors described."

Karma was grinning at her Alpha when the other wolves join them and she recognizes the swamp wolves. She sat slowly to watch how things went, Karma in her way of always seeing the best in people first noticed how handsome the Alpha seemed and how articulate the shaman seemed. Sure they didn't smell the best but she was sure they were good wolves at heart. She didn't seem to have the same nervousness or anger of the others. Karma nodded to both of them with a bright smile on her face though there was clear confusion about the situation.

A slow blink met the Alphess.

"There shall be always. Life and death twine like day and night. Both powerful forces struggle, win, then balance. Fire burns til it cannot, and life grows from the ashes of trees that suffocated the seed. Floods wash away a land, but bring bounty of soul to another. Before the dawn of wolf it was such, balanced with no help. It shall remain, have no worry. I've no reason to upset." His voice winded down into a breathy cough, old windpipe having been used more in the past few minutes than the last few weeks.

(I actually do like to do freestyle poetry from time to time! Being riddling and almost melodical seems to suit Rev imo)

Mora turned to her beloved Shaman,then to Li,"well what do want?You will not fit in my burrow nor would I take you there.We must talk here or in the communal burrow." The communal burrow was where every plains pack wolf began their day.They all sat down and ate breakfast,dinner,and lunch together.They also shared big news there and recounted stories of their days and dreams.Mora turned to Karma"Karma,would you please attend to the hare in my burrow?See if he's waken yet and redress his wounds with a mint poultice.You remember how to make it correct?If not the recipe is probably in my books or Shaman Aspen's books.His nose may also be a tad sunburned so use my aloe if its hurting him.Thank you."She turned to the Swamp Alpha."Let's go"She said before starting for the communal burrow.She knew he couldn't trap her there,it had at least six bolt holes,and they were certainly too tight a squeeze for a swamp wolf,and even if he did manage to get out he would never be able to catch her.Plains wolves were exceptionally fast,built for running.

Li listened to Mora, his ears pricked up. "The communal burrow it is." He decided quickly. What he wanted to discuss wasn't very serious, but he would prefer it if he wasn't somewhere where anyone could eavesdrop. Noticing Karma watching observing him and Revenant, he returned her gaze for a few moments, his piercing, yellow eyes sweeping over her. "You may want to bring one of your gatherers, Mora. This matter may concern them." He said silkily. He then stood and followed after the Alphess with long, elegant strides. Once in the burrow, he sat down in the corner so that he was mostly hidden in the shadows, and only the right side of his face was visible. He felt most comfortable in the dark, where he could disappear if he wanted to.

Karma nods happily to her Alpha, "I will attend to the hare first then join you if that's ok Alpha. I remember, Alpha. I'll make sure the little bun is feeling good as new!" She hopped up and grabbed her satchel that she would attend to after the hare. Before she leaves she nods to the Swamp wolves, "I hope we can help you in some way." She smiles brightly at them. Karma trotted into her leader's den to see the hare resting, its chest slowly rising and falling, not wanting to wake it so soon she prepared everything beforehand. She made the mint poultice and managed to grab the aloe before the hare stretched and shook itself. She trotted over to it and worked to fix it up as much as she could. The hare seemed better but not great and she left it to rest some more, she trotted into the communal burrow settling down happily with gentle eye watching the swamp wolves. She placed her satchel on the table before returning to her spot.

Arturin watched as the wolves walked away towards the plain territory. "Curses, plague, death and life.." she said looking at the river. "Why must we always fight." with that she walked straight into the river, she stared straight into the water and stood there for what seemed like hours. 'SPLASH' she dove her head into the water, when she finally brought it out she had a huge catfish in her mouth. The huge fish tried to its hardest to escape thrasing and slapping Arturin with it's tail. She dropped it when she was a feet from the water, he held it down with one paw abd bit down on it's head. With a couple of crunching sounds it fell still.

Li let out yet another sigh, his eyes trailing to the walls of the burrow. "I have come to make a deal with you." He said, getting straight to the point. It was clear that Alamora wasn't fond of him, and he didn't really blame her. He then looked over to Karma, "This is where I need to ask you a few questions. Does your pack have enough herbs to share? More specifically, burdock and barberry?" He Inquired, "The swampland, while it provides good protection from enemies and is an okay hunting ground, there are certain plants that cannot grow there." He continued, meeting the gaze of the other Alpha again, "I fear that there aren't enough herbs in our land, and I was thinking that we could possibly have some from your pack." Something flashed across his features for a moment. It was hard to make out what it was. Possibly fear, or maybe even worry, but it disappeared in a split-second. "If you give us herbs, I will see to it that the dark magic in my pack does not meddle with your healing, and maybe we could even have an alliance of some sort. That is my offer, unless you want something else." It might seem strange that he was suggesting that Swamp Pack and Plains Pack, two seemingly opposite packs, should form an alliance, but if Alamora wanted peace between the two packs, she would just have to trust that Li had nothing more sinister planned.
