About Tigyena's

Tigyena's were a successful hybridization of two species of entirely two different families. Scientists around the world celebrated, but soon ethical problems began to arise. Was the creature healthy? Was this science going too far? Could the creature even function normally in the wild? As it turns out the last was answered in a horrible accident, people who had owned them or zoos that housed them could not foresee what the creature would do. The desire for revenge and freedom from the Tiger and the cleverness of the bone crushing hyena lead to its escape into the wild. The Tigyena's easily survived in their new world, conquering and travelling to different parts of the world. Their body adapted to the extreme heats of Africa to the frigid winters of Siberia, it seemed they could survive wherever they went as long as there was large prey to be hunted. They are strong creatures with a will to survive like no other.

Clan Life

Females are always the most dominant and aggressive of the species and often will attempt to control a harem. The males are more submissive loners, they do not stay with one female and switch clans quite often unless one is particularly nice on territory. However while females are most protective of the males within the territory it is the males who are most territorial and will often attempt to kill or maim any female who isn't their own at the moment.

Diet

They will exclusively eat meat and prefer fresh and bloody over rotten. They do not have any qualms with stealing meals if it means they will be better hunters the next day instead of some other predator. They will eat rotting meat if worse comes to worse or they are in an unpredictable environment even if it is distasteful

Breeding

Females have at least one heat a week and give birth the third day after being impregnated. If they are younger there is a chance they will come into heat again the day after giving birth. She will breed with any male she deems worthy and often attack any that come near which are unworthy in her eyes. She will test males if she cannot determine by outward looks alone by playing with them and seeing how they can play with the larger females and how they react to things getting a bit out of control. Litters are between 1-5 cubs.

Lifespan

Tigyena's can live up to 25 years. Females generally reach adulthood at 2.5 years while males are fully mature at 3 years old. Both males and females reach adolescence at one year old.
