Name: Friedhelm Griebel | Gender: Male | Age: 17 | Role: Rider-to-be | Location: The Ferry | Mentions: Anu [inderectly] Friedhelm had beamed when the Avius had turned to him, only awkwardly backing off when all of the others had made her turn away, face flushed as he shuffled back towards his things. He gave a smile to anyone that called him cool, even though he could've just shrugged it off as something silly. It wasn't helpful, just a silly party trick. He looked around when he got back to the railing, trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of the docks yet, trying to guess how much longer the ride would be. Once he gave up trying to see through the fog, he sat himself down on the slimy deck and pulled out a leatherbound book or two, perfectly content with everything around him. He turned himself slightly as he pried a pencil out of the tiny pocket in his bag, trying to get a good look at the beast as he flipped to an empty page of the book and began to try and draw the gorgeous dragon. 0 players like this post! Name: Barra Bellicent | Gender: Female| Age: 25 Role: vice-chancellor and dragon biology mentor| Location: dock | Barra Mentions: William, Alistair [direct] | Anu Mentions: Jaclyn [direct] riders-to-be on ferry [indirectish] Barra could tell that Alistair was worried about Anu wreaking havoc but she could muster no comforting words besides what she had said before. She let William do the talking regarding her own dragon, she scolded herself for being lazy. When William greeted her with a small, half-hearted salute a small obligatory smile breached her lips. " No need for the formalities William, " She murmured, her eyes shifting away from William back out to the pass. Barra looked at Alistair briefly when she was reprimanded. She spotted the pale shimmer of Alistairs own dragon escaping to join Anu in her mischief. Spector would most likely cause a much bigger ruckus than Anu would or could attempt. Yet Barra didn't say anything and dropped her gaze to the ground in idle submission. " I'll have her preoccupied next time, " Barra said in a deadpan serious voice before bringing her gaze up to the waters. " Yes, I'm sure no serious issues will arrive, surely nothing worse than in the past, " Barra commented her yellowish green eyes peering out at the fog. Barra knew she wouldn't catch a glimpse of them till they were just a few yards away from the dock so she eventually gave up. She began to focus more on her posture and once again checking her clothes to make sure they were perfect as possible. Once she was satisfied she became still as a statue, determined to make a good first impression upon the arrival of the riders-to-be. She was the vice-chancellor, she had to look the part. In her mind at least. After all, not many people went to the trouble of wearing a uniform, in fact, Barra didn't know anyone on the island who confined themselves to a uniform. Anu enjoyed the murmurs of the juvenile humans around her, knowing all of them were about her. Yet she was happier about the person who was showering her with affection which the avius promptly returned with whirrs, chirps, and nuzzles. Anu closed her eyes briefly before opening them and pulling her head away. Her nostrils twitched and she could tell Specter was approaching. Anu wanting to enjoy all the attention she had now spread her multicolor wings to bedazzle the riders of the ferry. Then she tucked them and went back towards Jaclyn, who she promptly circled. When she was behind the young woman she settled into a crouch, compacting herself to as small as she could be and crawled in between the bride-to-be's legs. She didn't stop until Jaclyn was standing just behind her wings. Anu slowly rose up to her full height, hoping the rider to be would stay on. Suddenly with a brief glance at Jaclyn, her wings spread and then Anu was airborne with the possibility of a rider-to-be on her back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Artemis Ramsey | Gender: Female | Age: 26 | Role: Leviathan-Class Mentor| Location: Ferry | Mentions: Riders-To-Be, Anu and spectre(directly) With the weather being the way it was, Artemis had spent most of the trip running between the back deck to check up on Lei, and the captains quarters, passing on any information of the waters below. Eventually, she caught a break. Or, well, she decided to take one, seeing as a rather fancy dragon had decided to make an unscheduled appearance. Without particular rush to her steps, the leviathan mentor walked out to the front steps, footsteps echoing just slightly on the hollow floor. "Anu, you better have permission to be here, or so help me I'll chase you with a broom." There was no hostility to her words, but there was still a note of seriousness. After all, the dragons of all fully trained riders were supposed to follow orders. Especially when it came to the safety of any new rider. Once she was about five feet away from the Avius's side, Artemis paused to take a look at all the riders. Some of them were being too bold for her liking; it was never a smart idea to make yourself so vulnerable to a strange dragon, no matter how kindly it presents itself. Wild dragons could be dastardly smart, and there have been too many incidents in the past with new and experienced riders alike to prove this. "You'd better stay away from the water, Anu. Lei is prowling around, and he may not see you clearly if you fly too low. We don't need any more incidents between the two of you." Looking up was a mistake. Noting the white gleam quickly approaching from the island, Artemis sighed. Great. Anu, Spectre, and Lei-Gilthi all surrounded by bright-eyed trainees. Just what she needed. With pursed lips, she leaned back onto her heels. and eyes the new dragon as it cam in to land. The mentor then cast it a slightly disapproving look. At least she could guarantee that Alistair had some control over this one. "And you, too? Please don't knock anyone into the water, at least. I don't feel like going for a swim with all those drifters around." 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 10/02/19 @ 10:26:02 by Lyricality (#131240) |

{ Matteo Lee | Male | 17 } Rider-to-be | Location: Ferry | Mentions: Anu, Specter, others on the deck Despite the brilliant colors flashed before him, Matteo was quickly pulled to the rail at the sight of a gleaming white ripple skimming right above the ferry. He could catch the smallest glimpses of crimson embedded in the creature's head, two eyes almost glowing like two miniature red lamps. Were all dragons so mesmerizing? His uncle's old black-and-white photograph did not capture the beauty of the creatures. All the boy could do was hang over the fence with the sea breezes threatening to knock the round glasses right off his face, craning his head upwards as he watched the flames dance with the mist. "Simply gorgeous." Matteo had never been one to be intimidated by the natural world, and the wyvern fascinated him as a puppy fascinates a child. She must have come from the docks after the vibrant Avius, who seemed to be eager to carry a girl into the air. Pity, she didn't take the offer. The thrill would have been absolutely breathtaking. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Artemis Ramsey | Gender: Female | Age: 26 | Role: Leviathan-Class Mentor| Location: Ferry | Mentions: Riders-To-Be, Anu and spectre(directly) In an effort to remain calm, Artemis closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, slowly letting the spent air out through her mouth, before deciding to face the issue at hand. "Anu, *never* try that again. What if they panicked and fell? We can't have broken bones or sprained joints on the first day." She was trying her best to give minimal attention to Spectre, knowing that that's exactly what the great beast wanted. It was a bit hard though, when the damn thing kept *reflecting the sun straight into her eyes*. "And you up there. Go back to shore *right now*. You'll have plenty of time to show off your pretty scales once we are on solid ground." She didn't know if it would help much, but it was worth a shot. Then, it was calm for all of three seconds, before something started thrashing rather violently near the front of the boat. This was followed right after with a colossal roar, and Artemis sighed again. At a quick but restrained pace, she pushed through the bewildered trainees to go see exactly what Lei was doing. Once she reached the railing, a quick glance into the frothing water was all it took for the pieces to fall together. It looked like one of the drifters got a bit testy, and Lei felt like showing off. So, of course he attacked it, hoping to garner some attention for himself. He definitely got the attention of his rider, who felt about ready to jump into the water and give him a good smack. "Lei-Gilthi you overgrown *lizard* now is *not* the time." Of course, all he did was grunt and splash water at the boat in retort. Fine, no treats for him. Name: Cennetic MacNamara | Gender: Male | Age: 19 | Role: Rider-to-be| Location: Docks | Mentions: Alistair,William, Barra Though he had been slow to wake up and face the day, Cennetig had finally made it over to the docks. Lightish footsteps gave away his approach, though he wasn't keen on hiding it anyways. "Morning all, did I miss anything fun?" Hopefully not yet, since he could only barely make out the ferry in the distant mist. Though the distinct lack of dragons felt a bit off. It was like this every year, of course, and he would know since he'd come see the new riders-to-be every year since he was eight. He'd hoped to have joined last years class, but the time didn't feel right quite then. Now though, he was certain there was a dragon waiting for him. He was ready. "Wonder if they got rained on at all? The clouds don't look so nice." Idle conversation kept spewing from his mouth, trying to burn off nervous energy. Did he just hear a dragon roar? This one sounded a bit like Artemis's dragon, but he couldn't say for sure from this distance. "You guys know what's happening out there?" He wasn't usually this talkative, unless he was trying to get himself out of trouble. And now was thankfully not one of those times. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Barra Bellicent | Gender: Female| Age: 25 Role: vice-chancellor and dragon biology mentor| Location: dock | Barra Mentions: William, Alistair, Cennetig [direct] Ferry [indirect] Barra cocked a brow as she heard footsteps approaching. She had almost started to think that Cennetig wasn't coming this year. She listened in an idle manner as the rider-to-be tried to start a conversation. Yet since she wasn't one for conversation and the ferry was almost here she did not engage. The rather left it up to William and Allistair to talk to him. Barra wanted her focus to solely be on the ferry and did not want to be distracted when it finally breached the mist and came into view, she did not want to look distracted either. As if summoned the ferry's hull pierced the thick muggy fog like a sharp blade, effectively revealing its cargo. There were riders-to-be, which was to be expected and two dragons which for Barra was also expected as she had noticed Spector slipping off earlier. Barra crossed her arms when she noticed the smaller dragon was a few feet above the boat. Barra knew that was Anu and that she had done something she shouldn't have. A low whistle came from Barra's lips and Anu left the ferry, flying back to Barra. " You little devil, " Barra whispered in Anu's ear and gave her dragon a strong pat on the neck. In an apology, Anu nuzzled the back of Barra's neck with a soft chirr. All Anu got in sympathy was the roll of Barra's eyes and hand pushing her away. Barra fixed the hairs that her dragon had messed up and crossed her arms once more. She stood on the balls of her feet in a discreet manner trying to be just an inch taller so that she didn't look like such a dwarf compared to the three men who stood nearby. She did not want to be seen as lesser than what she really was because of her height. Barra knew no one would probably even be thinking about how tall she is because of all the excitement much less judging her for it, but it didn't stop her from worrying about it. 0 players like this post! Myai Gene | Female | 17 | Rider-to-be | Ferry | Mentions: Matteo (direct), riders-to-be (indirect) After dazing off into space, an avius had pulled her back into reality, watching it carefully and looking it over. It seemed like a lovely creature, but nothing of her interest. Her brown eyes just seemed to haze away as the creature flew away, climbing back to her feet to force herself to stay in touch with reality. This was something that she didn't do often, but she was honestly bored. Yes, the dragons were mesmerizing, but she found no attraction to any of the classes she has seen so far. What she desired most was to see a Terra-Class dragon, like what her father had when he was her age. Myai picked up a faint whisper out of the blue, raising her brown orbs to a dazed off male who just seemed to awaken. With a raised brow, she picked up her feet and forced herself to be social. The girl would cross her arms over her chest and nudge Matteo's arm with her elbow. "Fan of bright colors?" She asked, raising a brow once more, shifting her feet underneath her to find a comfortable stance. She could tell he was sort of a loner in most eyes by the way he slightly isolated himself, a moment of the water moving by and other riders murmuring about on the ferry between the two until she got a reply. Glancing at the boy, she could tell he was from Korean descent possibly? 0 players like this post! Like? |

{ Matteo Lee | Male | 17 } Rider-to-be | Location: Ferry | Mentions: Myai, others on the deck He wasn't exactly a fan of sudden contact. The jolt in his arm very nearly made him jump, likely falling into the unforgiving grey-blue waters below. Instead, Matteo flinched just slightly before turning his head to the side and offering an awkward smile. The girl had good intentions, it seemed, and it shouldn't bother him too much to acquaint himself with other Riders-to-be. "The Avius is fascinating, but that one is absolutely captivating, isn't she?" He regained his balance leaning over the railing, one hand pushing the bridge of his glasses back up his nose as he squinted at the patch of mist and clouds in which the (albino?) dragon had dissipated in. Teo had always been one to look away from the things right before his eyes, instead glancing to the side and admiring the little things that others don't always notice. Deeming the creature now invisible to the human eyes, the boy looked back to the girl and her ashen blond hair. "Do you know what type it is?" He referred to the ghost-like specimen that just skimmed the water's face, though unsure if she had even seen it at all. Matteo is awkward like that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Artemis Ramsey | Gender: Female | Age: 26 | Role: Leviathan-Class Mentor| Location: Ferry | Mentions: Jaclyn(direct), Riders-To-Be, Alistair Anu and spectre(indirect) Tired of dealing with her overgrown child, Artemis turned to greet whichever girl just approached her. "Sometimes I wonder why we chose each other. But yes, that one is without a doubt my dragon." Since said dragon hadn't made a sound in a few moments, she looked back down the the now moderately calm water. Then, not seeing him, looked ahead of the boat. Towards the docks. She could only just make out a few figures standing in the mist. She'd have to have a word with the chancellor later. "It seems like he's gone to join the other two to put on a better show, the damned beast. And you, girl, you seem calm for someone given an impromptu ride on a strange dragon. I assume you've been told stories growing up?" One could almost always tell a new riders familiarity with dragons. If you looked careful enough, you could tell the difference between caution and general shyness. This girl seemed to have neither trait. This would usually mean that someone in her family made her well aware of what was happening. Those kinds of trainees could be both the bet and worst to deal with, depending on how cocky they got with their still limited knowledge. She didn't seem like she'd be too much trouble though, unlike Cennetig. Speaking of, Artemis wondered if he'd find someone in this group to compete with. That should be a good enough distraction for him to stop with his games. But that was probably too much to hope for. Name: Cennetig MacNamara | Gender: Male | Age: 19 | Role: Rider-to-be| Location: Docks | Mentions: William(direct), Alistair, Barra, Spectre(indirect) "Can't say I would," Cennetig mused in response. "I like seeing their faces when they get off the boat. Better than the stale chatter happening back at camp." Not that he didn't like those already from the island, but there just wasn't much to talk about until the new trainees join them. Just then, a blast of wind nearly sent the distracted boy into the waters below. Muttering out a cuss as he caught himself, Cennetigs eyes followed spectre with hesitance. He really did love that dragon, but she was a bit of a loose cannon. Once she seemed to be a safe distance away, he turned back to watch the ship, eyes moving back every so often just to stay safe. "Oh, would it be too early to ask who's cabin I'm gonna join? I've packed up already, but I'd like to claim a bed before it's cramped with a bunch of excited teenagers if at all possible." It was almost certainly too much to ask for, but hey, it was worth a shot. And for the umpteenth time that day, he started to wonder about his future partner. Would he find them soon? Would it be from an egg, like most kids, or as an adult, like Artemis? What kind of dragon would it be? He didn't really have a favourite breed, but speed was a plus. 0 players like this post! Like? |
