So! I breed Blacks, but looking at the options for gold breeders who want to breed something nice is... really, really sad. Spite kicked me into action, so I'm tossing some ideas for new Goldens to a) encourage more people to give them the time of day and b) fill out some genetic groups in need of more diversity.

To start things off, let's get some golds fit for any breeder miffed Scoundrel was made red: two bases inspired by venomous snakes, Cobra and Viper!

Cobra
Gold Medium Countershaded Special
Inspired by spectacled cobras, spitting cobras and king cobras, a lovely golden base with a striking hood and details. (Lineless)


Viper
Gold Light Solid (or Countershaded) Special
Inspired by the desert horned viper, a fairly pale base - the main selling point is that face and those gradients.(Lineless)

The gaboon viper, in all its chonky glory, was my muse- however it looks like an absolutely complex MESS and not a base, so I tried to capture the spirit of it. Dark, dangerous and likely hiding in the leaf-litter at your feet(Lineless)


As much as I love breed-onlys, I propose that Cobra and Viper be applicator Specials. GMC and GLS/C desperately need applicator bases that actually look, well, golden- Bast is beautiful, but it wouldn't fit a natural pride at all. Hell, the latter only just got Angelic. Bless your soul Serval ilu, but it needed that blue due to the mane.
Cobra's job is to give Mandarin/Dhahabi/Maziwa breeders an in-between to apply to their kings and breeders while they breed that perfect heir, while Viper is just. Finally giving GLS/C some love
Gaboon could also be an app, but it's slightly less tense a situation (Anubis can pass as slightly more natural than Bast, sliiightly). Thus, I wouldn't be opposed to it being a combo of other snake Goldens ;3

Making them NCL-exclusives or breed-only (or Creams) would defeat this point. I'd suggest that they be attainable together, maybe from March, some sort of storyline or an Explore encounter (more common than Interstellar lmao).
