ᴛʜᴇ ᴋᴇɴɴᴇʟs

You walk into the large building complex and look around. The walls are painted a pretty sky blue, with various pictures of a strange creature and a handler. It would appear that the two are very close. Beside these pictures, there appears to be a diagram of the same creature. Take a look?



You turn your head at the sound of a door opening, the sound of particularly loud barking, escaping from the opening before quieting again as the door swung shut.

“Oh!” A femine voice echoes briefly through the room, “Welcome to the Kennels! Are you here to make an adoption? We’ve got LOADS of future champions and adorable pets to choose from!”

A pamphlet is thrusted into your hands, it reads:

Thank you for expressing interest in these wonderful creatures!

The Kennels here are filled with abandoned or surrendered Kobalos, each looking for a new home! They are organized into four sections, each in a different location in the complex.

1. Surrendered Pets - 100
These guys are the most COMMON of the Kobalos we’ve got here at the Kennels. They are often not previously trained or bred for particularly high stats. Nevertheless, they make great companions for new handlers!

2. Rescued Kobalos - 500
These Kobalos had a fairly hard life before being kept here. They were rescued from various situations, fighting rings, bad breeders and the like. They are UNCOMMON in markings and colors, but often not very high stats.

3. Surrendered/Abandoned Ex-Champions - 1 or Equivalent
These RARE Kobalos are either abandoned here by handlers for being less than stellar competitors or surrendered here if a handler is no longer able to take care of them. They can carry some interesting traits and exhibit some beautiful colorations and markings!

4. Feral Kobalos - 3 or Equivalent
These Kobalos are VERY RARE and usually not available. These Kobalos have been released into the wild and have since been recaptured. They can exhibit any trait, deformity or mutation with any markings and colorings. Ask your Welcomer if any are available, though be warned it is not recommended new handlers attempt to train a Feral Kobalos!

As any good Kennel, we have already done GENETIC TESTING on each Kobalos! They are posted above their respective kennels so that you, potential handler, can make an informed decision about your Kobalos!

You open the door that leads towards the kennel area and are greeted almost instantaneously by the deafening sounds of barks, howls, and growls that emit from one-way glass kennels. You pause slightly, locating the direction of the compound that houses the Surrendered and Abandoned Ex-Champions and begin walking that way. You notice out of the corner of your eye that your greeter is following you.

You stop just inside the compound and gaze at four different kennels.

The first and closest kennel is the same color and shape as all the others you've passed. You don't hear anything from inside... not even a bit of barking. A note on the door reads:

XY/bhbh/dd/Vv/WW/psm/tltl/mbmb/uu/aan/erer/Rr/Iim/null

You move on to look at the second kennel. As you look at the door, trying to locate the note that holds the genetic test results, one, loud bark resonates from within the kennel, startling you some. You find the note, it reads:

Looking back to the second kennel every so often, you decide to move on to the third. The Kobalos in this kennel has been barking incessantly at you from the moment you stopped in front of the four kennels. It quiets as you move up to read the note:

The third Kobalos starts up again as you move to examine the fourth and final kennel. You can see the dark shadow of this Kobalos from the one-way glass. You have a sneaking suspicion that they are starring right at you.

"Yes.." She begins slowly as she makes an awkward eye contact with you. "We do... three in fact. But perhaps you would like to star with a.. erm.. easier first companion? They can be a bit testy..." She trails off.

"Ah!" Your greet looks please that you need her assistance, "Those are the results for the Kobalos' Genetic Test! Here at the Kennel, we preform one on each Kobalos before putting them up for adoption." She walks over to stand beside you at the fourth kennel and gestures to the note to explain further.

"They are great for understanding what might come from BREEDING two different Kobalos together and, in our case, for getting an idea of what the Kobalos behind that door will look like! For example," she gestures again to the note on the fourth kennel, "the lady in here is a... Brown-based girl with recessive honey-base with no dilute, though she is a vibrant. As well as the leopard spotting, mask, and underbelly marks that are obscured by a partial white. Oh! She does have a color point and carries albinism!" She takes a breath and looks over the note again. "There a bit more here... she'll have a STANDARD tail and mixed ear types... oh the poor thing is deaf," The last part is mumbled slightly, your greeter frowns at note.

Your greeter nods and moves to unlock the kennel door with a key that was stored away in a place you didn't quite see. Perhaps on her side? Anyways, the door swings open to reveal the Kobalos.

She is sitting and perks up as she watches the door open to reveal you. Her brown fur has turned into an orange the mimics a tiger with the vibrancy added to it. Her leopard spots are that of a darker-near black coloration that cover the back half of her body, the underbelly is a slightly lighter, almost peach coloration that starts about half way up her neck and continues to cover her entire tail and half of her rear legs. Her mask is a light grey color that stands out prominently from her darker orange color point. The partial white dots the area around her chest, paws, and speckles slightly across her face.

The Kobalos regards you with a determined stare but otherwise does not move to greet or back away from you. Perhaps she is waiting for something?
